The cross was the instrument of Lord Jesus Christ's extreme suffering and death. Everybody speaks about love for God. If we really love Jesus, it will break our heart to see him in that agonizing situation - crucified, bloody, suffering. When we love someone, say, our child who died in a car crash or husband/wife hacked to death with a knife, we will not be able to endure seeing them in that condition. Some even faint just by hearing the news. This is love. We feel the pain of our loved ones in our hearts. WE don't take the knife or the car as a souvenir or a means to remember our love for them. We don't put their bloodied pictures or the pictures of the bloodied knife or bloodied car to our walls or desks. If fact, many curses those instruments and some leave the place and move to a far away land just to forget anything that will make them remember their agony and suffering. we want to remember them with nice, happy, good photos of them. We want to hold on to things that makes us remember good memories when they were still alive, not their gory deaths Yes, we can do that sign of the cross to remember how Jesus loves us. But, to say that we love him and be able to smile watching him suffer on the cross, it is not love at all, far from it. It goes against the law of love - you don't want to see him suffer, or always keep the instruments of death because, if you truly love Jesus, it will break your heart seeing him suffer. Some mothers even pains them to see their child with even a slight fever. It worries them so much to see their child suffer or in pain. They feel their child's pain, and even pray to God to transfer their child's ailments and pain to them, and suffer for their child. If we are comfortable seeing Jesus nailed on the cross in an agonizing, bloodied, pitiable condition and say we love him, we should deeply think what we mean by that. Love is selfless, no condition, we love God and Jesus no matter what. To be concerned of our own salvation and comfort is selfish, it is not love at all. Jesus' FIRST and FOREMOST and GREATEST commandment is "Love God with all your heart, all your mind, your entire soul and entire being." Unconditional love, which Jesus exemplified with his own life and teaching that he wanted us to emulate, to "carry our own cross" in loving God. No conditions. We should think deeply about that.

We used that cross in mercilessly murdering His Son in the most painful and humiliating way,how can God then use that cross now as sign of His love for us.?Does God love us for murdering His only Son whom He sent for us?y
