When I first saw this episode I was literally crying with laughter, especially during the chopsticks scene.

Props to kryten for saying the often lethal mercurian boomerang spoon line without dying laughing. That spoon could have been an episode by its self 😅

Should have posted this whole dinner scene it's priceless, Legion is one of the best Red Dwarf episodes ever!

Legion does the best Stephen Fry impression I've heard.

This is one of my favourite ever episodes, it was just so exciting when Rimmer became hard light and changed colour! The episode also has a clever story, good character, and great jokes. But perhaps the thing I liked most about this episode was the sets, which are bright, clean, attractive and aspirational, much nicer than the usual "grungey" alien sets they would visit. One thing I think let series X down was the sets, which I thought were grungey, dark, cluttered and industrial. I wish they would just go back to the beautiful Officer's quarters from series 3-5. That set was perfect, it could be lit in all sorts of different ways, and it really made the characters stand out.

Say what you want about sci-fi sitcoms, but Red Dwarf has some great jokes and lines you can use in everyday life, which is what it's all about.

This may be my favourite episode....too hard to choose though.

The first time I saw this the light switch joke stayed with me forever.

When I was about 10, we'd get in on a Friday, grab pizza and hot dogs and gather round a little laptop screen watching these eps before we got the TV to work in our new house. Funny man. Because when you wanna slob, you've got Lister to do it with you.

I think Legion is probably the funniest episode, mainly for this scene and the meal. Makes me laugh the hardest even though I've seen it a hundred times.

Why did they cut the clip there? I wanted to watch it to the end. The best bit is when Lister's chop sticks have attracted to something in Rimmers mouth, and his cheek is bulging. Lister "try swallowing it!" Rimmer "I have, three times" WHY THEY CUT THAT OFF :(

There's quite a few Red Dwarf fans in the SF Bay Area. One of the local public channels around here would actually have a telethon to raise money to keep Red Dwarf on the air. One time, tney had the actors who play Lister and Kryten in the studio for the telethon. Two of my buddies introduced me to Red Dwarf. I was hooked!

i know red dwarf is a comedy but it really is an amazing sci fi programme too. dr who is probibly one of the best things on at the moment with its stories and ideas but red dwarf deffinatly matched up with the ideas and stories too. so inventive and great. i wonder what itd be like if the doctor met legion :D

I would have voluneteered and stayed there for the rest of my life. Legion would have lived. And don't forget there was a complex in the ship with a hologramatic chamber that allowed you to go anywhere you wanted and do anything to anyone you wanted!
