The Canaries - Red Dwarf - BBC 

i know some people disliked series 8 of red dwarf but for me i thought it was great mainly for having these great bunk scene between rimmer and lister again, which was one of the best bits of the whole series for me.

Lol Rimmer's face gets me everytime. When Lister tells him he is signed up to lol classic.

The ending is pure gold. How quickly Rimmer's smile froze :D

1:49 - That "Oh Listy!" phrase hasn't been on Red Dwarf since the first couple of series!

Red dwarf is great with Acronyms. Remember this, " It's a choice between the league against salivating monsters or my personal favorite the committee for the liberation and intergration of terrifying organisms and their rehabilitation into society. The problem with that is the abbreviation is CLITORIS."?

Every time a Red Dwarf clip gets posted on utube someone always says it was the best scene in the whole series. But this scene, in season XIII is truely one of the best scenes, from one of the best episodes, in the best season of Red Dwarf!

Remember watching this as a kid when it first aired. Had no idea what the C word meant and remember bellowing my guts at that line; "I've signed you up too".

I wish they hadn’t cut that seems so short, because we missed the bit where Rimmer blows up screaming “ME WHY!?!” to which Lister says that he did it for kryten, Kochanski and the cat.

Great show!!! So many laugh out loud moments in this scene!! Season 8 was goofy but super entertaining all the way through!

This is the best show!!!! this was the only season I ever got to see on T.V. when first broadcast... think it was '99... i loved it, cause they played the whole season in one day, how amazing, didn't have to wait or nuthin! too bad they all got pretty old to do that movie that "was supposed to be" oh well, woulda been fun!

I feel like the concept of the Canaries would make for a great sci fi series on its own a ragtag group of inmates sent on suicide missions to the deepest blackest unknowns of space on the promise of a lighter sentence

To be honest, joining the canaries is no different to what the dwarfers did before when they ever come across derelicts and unknown planets. If anything, they have more experience out if everyone in the Tank.

Oh yeah....It was quite amusing when cat turn up in blade 2, I did have to check the credits at the end of the film to make sure just in case It was someone that looked like him.

Same thing with Rimmer in Tomb Raider with a shotgun! lol! The best were the first seasons with low budget... cause even in the middle (season 6) I had watched that with-out the "laughing" track they added... and it was not very funny... it was fun live... but I liked the full sets better, except the 3D animation. There are so many fave episodes... but def Mr.Fibbles, ahah!

The best sessions were the first couple when everything was on a budget, it got a little naff after they started spending more money on it, kind of killed the hole comedy effect. However I thought it was hilariously for most of it, so I can't real complain. When all the boys from the dwarf were together, that was when it was really fucking funny, thinking back now I think my favourite episode was polymorph, but they were all pretty good, it's hard to choose.

i will be forever grateful to microbiologist friend who back in the late 1980's said there's a new BBC scifi comedy airing next week on ABC TV (Australian TV), i was 19 or so and couldn't wit for it to be repeated on TV or the video cassette to be released because i missed so much from laughing so hard.

Ha ha ha Oh yeah, I forgot about rimmer in tomb raider, that was strange Mr.Fibbles, ha ha ha, yeah that was a great episode, I think that was the one with the holo virus ?, that's why he went nuts, it's been a long time since I watched them, do you remember the despair squid episode, he he he Jesus, there really are lots to choose from, I don't think I've got an absolute favourite, most of the early ones are just brilliant.

Series 8 was very disappointing. I would of preferred it. When its the 4 of them on star bug. Rimmer. Lister. Cat. And kryten. When its them 4 on the spaceship. It keeps the show entertaining.

Grant-Naylor are fantastic writers! It all started well, but from 5 onwards it started to loose it. It was almost like Craig was trying too hard. Chris has done so well... By the final series, Red Dwarf seemed forceda a real prision sentance. As much as I would like some completion to the series, a film is not the way to do it. A new series where the charecters has aged gracefully would be more realistic. The hope of them returning to Earth and maybe a new series is offsprung from there?

Great clip, but Lister seems to have dumbed down a lot. In the earlier series, he was acknowledged to be intelligent but lazy. Now he almost seems moronic, not even knowing what the canaries are or why they used to use them before coal mining.

I watched this stuff when i was younger with my dad... the last series sucked sooo bad and Kochanski was the last straw for me. the woman was a bad actress and was just annoying in general. Give me the other 6 Series any day R.I.P Red Dwarf
