The LIMEWOODS and a Lost Shoe | Hiking Ancient Woodland in Lincolnshire | Tupholme and Bardney Abbey

In this video, I'm out on a hike in the countryside around Lincolnshire. The route takes me from the village of Bardney, to the ruins of Tupholme Abbey, through the ancient Limewoods and then to the site of the historic Bardney Abbey, near to which it is thought King Aethelred of Mercia is buried at King's Hill.
The route is 9.4 miles in total.

Lovely walk Gav., great to see other parts of Lincolnshire from what you see driving through it (the flat lands of vegetable, fruit & flower production). The abbey would have been an impressive building in its day! Thanks for sharing until the next one take care. ❤️xx

Another great vid Gav, thank you. I love Ozymandius, I went to a midfle school in Whitley Bay and the headteacher, Dr Heron, asked me to join his "Choric Speech" group. We did half a dozen poems including Ozymandius and the experience was very formative. The school sounds much posher than it was, but it was brill.

It’s a great poem. I remember learning about it around 12 years old. I love walks like these where you have the whole day, take a steady pace and explore. Obviously the flask has to come along! Thanks for watching Phil!
