Yeah but also as adults we understand Simba and Nala are basically half siblings and now instead of hearing "Can you feel the love tonight" you now hear "Sweet Home Alabama" play in your head instead

One of the most epic and emotionally compelling pieces of music in film history or history history for that matter - especially the way it transitions into the African style singing then back into the western style choir singing and finishing with “the circle of life”. Every part of it is as close to perfect as I’ve ever heard and I’ve been making music for close to two decades.

My father took me to see this the first day it came out in theaters when I was like 6 years old. He passed away last January due to Covid at the age of 67. I loved this music then and it saddens me deeply to hear it now without him. He was my Mufasa, taken from me surprisingly. Hopefully I will see him again, sometime.

Hopefully some day this music will instead remind you of the great times you had with your father. He may be gone, but you still have those memories of him. As quoted from The Lion King, "He lives in you".

Dad? Hm? We're pals right? Right. And we'll always be together right? Simba, let me tell you something my father told me...Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars. Really? Yes, so whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you, and so will I.

in the lion king 1 1/2 simba hugs timon & pumbaa & says he couldnt have done it without them. it was soooooo sweet & shouldve been in this too b4 that. it made me smile really big but i didnt tear up. if it werent 4 them poor simba wouldve felt sorry 4 himself & been miserable 4 the rest of his life, died from heatstroke & gotten eaten by vultures. they saved his life, took care of him since he was a cub, helped him get thru the worst thing that ever happened 2 him & put it behind him, made him happy again & even helped him fight with the hyenas. they really deserve a shit ton of more credit 4 it in this. when he finds nala he kinda just ignores them. they didnt get the props they deserved in the first movie 4 being his adoptive dads. if mufasa survived & was there he definitely wouldve hugged them too, said thanks a million 4 taking care of his son & cried like timon did. he definitely did from heaven

I'm glad that Hans Zimmer returned to do the music for the live action, but listening to the two versions of this... I actually prefer the original. And that's not to say the reorchestration is bad -- far from it. But, having been recorded in 1994, there's still this warmth to it that's very hard to recreate with modern recording and mixing technology. It sounds fuller; there's a richness that I just can't seem to find in the 2019 version.

It makes you to feel more sensitive to the most important things in the life like love and family, this is not another stupid movie with nonsense like today's ones. My BFF has a tattoo of Rafiki's stick. One day, about three years ago, I had a very bad day at work and he showed me this tattoo, reminding me of the part when Rafiki hits Simba on the head and says, "It doesn't matter! It's all in the past!" Now, I see that the more I can "learn from it" rather than "run away from it", the more I can learn from all the thoughts, actions, and words that come to me, despite being an autistic man living under anxiety. I forever thank and bless my BFF for showing me that tattoo.❤

One of my favourite movie scenes. What I love most about this is when Simba walks up he seems so heavy, as if he's remembering all his pain. Then when he gets to the end he looks up at the sky for help and his father simply says "remember..." And after that you see a little smile...which to me feels like a throwback to young Simba who was carefree and who couldn't wait to become king. And then he roars. No dialogue, just music and visuals. *chef's kiss*

People forget that Hans Zimmer has a more classical sound to his scores when first starting out: great scores like Lion King (obviously), The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, etc. to name some of his more notable and better scores from earlier on...but then he moved into a more modern sound infused with classical. Some people hate on him for this but I think it shows growth as an artist and his composition of The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Rush, 12 years a slave (though, this was definitely more akin to his earlier scores); and within this time he crafted two of the best film scores of all time: Inception and Interstellar (HUGE Oscar snub for interstellar; should have easily won over the grand Budapest hotel). The man is a musical genius and has made a major impact on the films we watch because of it.
