AS A DC NATIVE AND A TRUE WASHINGTONIAN GO GO HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN THE BUILDING AT 68 YEARS YOUNG I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU 1 ❤ WASHINGTON D.C RIP MAYOR FOR LIFE MR. MARION BARRY
Man slim listen I have been checking out your content and you provide some deep insight on a lot of DC street lore however this is arguably your best post! As a dude who grew up in an era where the Go-Go was our life man this brought a smile to my soul!! RE, Chuck, EU, Class, Ayre Rayde, Junk, AM/FM, Pump Blenders, The Met, Classics, Black Hole, Triples, Cherrys, Eastside, The Highland Tape, The Fight Tape, Fat Rodney, etc man thanks for this!! Keep up the content.
I co-sign with this statement, these were the best day’s of my life partying to this old school Go-Go music. Lil Benny was one of the best to ever do it. I remember Benny passing away the day after my birthday in 2010, I was heart broken. 💔 But your music will forever live in our heart’s Benny. 🙌🏾Thank you for this very detailed documentary. Old school Go-Go will alway’s live in my heart.❤️🙌🏾💃🏽
This just took me all the way back. Summer time every where you go is nothing but GO-GO. 4-Runners and Pathfinders up and down Georgia Ave all the windows down crankin that new Junk or that new Essence joint.
Great video! The Helicopter! Benny is my all-time favorite GoGo artist and I feature him often on The GoGo Time Machine show. Rest in peace Little Benny!
I'm 58 and grew up during this time essence was like that we use watch practice in them practice in back yard of his grandma's house in SE those was the days
My dad used to bring home battle of the bands VHS tapes in the early 90s and thats when I got introduced to Lil Benny and the Masters. I had my daughter on 6/8/10. His funeral was that week. My daughters father left me in the hospital to go to the funeral.
This was dope but not long enough. Benny and GOGO deserve a serious documentary. He had another band too and I always forget the name of it. They played TAKOMA Station heavy. He was a great human being. Just a good soul and deeply missed 💔🙏🏽💪🏽🐐🔥
Man this brings back memories. I remember growing up in SE and I would hear the bands playing in Highland. I was young in the 80’s but I could still hear that crank session! Later they moved down to Livingston every Thursday! I love my city💯
This one took me back, I’m from the MOCO side my Popz ran sound for a lot of bands in the 80s and 90s had the pleasure of attending one of Bennys cookouts I was like 5 yrs old met his son it was lit 🔥
I just got chills realizing I was there at 9:30 that night Benny played with Chuck. I was there for EVERY show Chuck played at 9:30, including him playing with a hippy jam band Galactic.

Took me back my childhood and teen years. I had to sneak and listen because my parents were super religious and strict. I played trumpet too. Always wanted to play with a GoGo band but it wasn’t in play for me Slim. Good shit Joe. I jih got cised like shit at work watching dis joint.
When I used to live on good hope rd as a youngin, my pops introduced me to little benny and elmo, and Little benny always looked out for me as a youngin R.I.P. to a legend
I tell my 15 year old son , yall wanna be rappers? When I was young, I wanted to be Lil Benny. He was DMV popular on the same level yall see NBA Youngboy. No cap. ✌️💯🫡
I went to a PW high school, but through friends in church I could get weekly updates on all the good culture. GoGo is such a beautiful gem that I will always cherish.
I appreciate how much effort you put into your videos. You are really good at narration. I live in FL now but I miss home (MOCO) and these videos are comforting
It's that time again. Headphones on couple rolled enjoying the vybz..Binge watching your videos. Respect for the uploads and your narrative is on point too. Big up yourself.💯👏🏾👏🏾😤
