Funny enough this was the first Broadway show I saw as a child. I remember sitting in the audience and being mesmerized by the scenery and how well to me as a kid. They had adapted my childhood favorite Disney movie. Glad to see some recordings of this production have made its way to RU-vid. I actually think this show is what ignited my love for theatre. Ashman was and is a genius lyrically. More people should appreciate his work imo.

It’s a fun little show but the star for me is Ursula and I Want the Good Times Back is one camp number that I wish they would reuse

This show undoubtedly had its flaws - but God, were Ashman's lyrics perfect! Scott's Ursula was also the best take on the character in my opinion.

This makes me soooo sad because they had everything to do something wonderful but the creative choices were just sooo bad. The new added songs were sooo good, the cast was wonderful, if only they kept Ursula's tranformation into Vanessa and made some changes on the design of a lot of stuff...
