The Little Things: Is It Obvious Who The Killer Is? 

The denture prints did not match. The finger prints did not match. No DNA matching to Sparma. Deacon was obsessed about pinning the evidence on Sparma. This will be important below. The VHS, newspaper clippings, books indicate that Sparma is like he said a true crime buff. He is a deranged person who gets off on the morbid stuff. The real killer is Deacon. He stole the murder files then left them at the motel which were trashed by the hotel worker. He made Sparma disappeared and also pinned the runner’s “death” on Sparma. By sending fake evidence to Baxter. No body was found, which does not fit the real killer’s MO of leaving the body to be found. For Sparma to have killed the runner, he would have to catch up with her. Which is highly unlikely as Sparma has a noticeable gait where his right foot is turned inwards. Sparma is a red herring. Deacon is shown to be morally corrupt throughout the movie.
