Time for Lord of the Rings lore. In the new Shadow of War footage we see Minas Ithil, but where is it, what's its story and what does it have to do with Isildur's heir - Aragorn? In this video I go through over 6000 years of backstory, starting at the War of Wrath, Beleriand and the creation of the Dúnedain Kingdom on the island Númenor (Elenna), which was inspired by the story of Atlantis, going over the foundation of the Kingdoms of men Arnor and Gondor and end with why Aragorn unites everything.
We will look at the story of white trees (starting with Nimloth), of Beren and Luthien, Eärendil and Elwing, Elros and Elrond and answer the question, what's the deal with Aragorn's snake ring - the Ring of Barahir. I will also talk about Gil-galad, Glorfindel, Círdan, Celebrimbor (Shadow of Mordor) and Elendil (Last Alliance between Elves and Men + dwarfs).
Of course Sauron, the Valar, and the Nazgûl (Ringwraith) unter the Witchking of Angmar play also a big role in this.
All from the books perspective - a summary of the background story so to say.
If you have only seen the Lord of the Rings movies, I ensure you: after watching this, you will probably be more confused or understand everything (like the bloodlines) and the details much better.
I go into some difference between Tolkien's books and Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies, but also Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.
Spoiler Warning: this video could contain story parts, that could be used in Shadow of War. I also spoil the books and Shadow of Mordor.
