That's why when I'm exploring, I dont take my best gear. The diamond stuff stays home at the base and im traveling with the essentials. Stone and iron tools, torches, a stack of dirt, some logs and planks, a bed, bucket of milk, bucket of water, and half a stack of beef or pork. I have the mindset of "if I die and lose everything, no biggie." A good set of enchanted iron armor and iron tools will do the job at the stage you're at in the game when traveling. When you're at the base farming/building/mining, that's usually a better time to wear or use the diamond stuff because it's your base and you have more control of your surroundings. @@Jfiggsy Yeah. I can tell you're more of the builder type. I like your builds and aesthetics a lot. I think you should lighting proof your house tho seeing as a lighting strike would have caused massive damage to it. Perhaps redo the roof with stone or surround the area with lighting rods?
Your cinematography is astounding. Don't sell yourself short man. Your videos have such a high quality to them and there's a deeper sense of story and lore and atmosphere that it's just so engaging. Figgsy, Figgsy, Figgsy...my man. You forgot to take a shield with yourself after you died :( Otherwise that creeper explosion would have just gone to waste. But anyways! You fell and now it's time to stand up and try again! By the way I really recommend to do this before the End fight: 1. Go to the Nether 2. Search a Nether Fortress 3. Kill blazes to get blaze rods (actually it will be essential for the End portal anyways) 4. Collect nether wart while you there 5. Go home and make a brewing stand with 1 blaze rod and 3 cobblestones 6. Brew at least 3-6 slow falling potion. Here is the recipe to it: Get 3 water bottles, put them into the brewing stand, then put nether wart into it. Wait till it's done brewing. Then put 1 phantom membrane into the brewer (phantoms spawn every night after you haven't sleep for 2 or 3 days). When it finished, you already have a potion of slow falling, but to spice it up, put one redstone into the brewing stand which makes the potion effect last longer. So if the dragon knocks you off while building up to destroy the crystals then the potion effect will slow down your fall and you don't get any falling damage! The key is to somewhat "over prepare" for the fight. That is if you haven't defeated the dragon ever yet. That's what I did when I was preparing to defeat it for the first time, which I did on phone. Then at the end I realised that I over prepared and it worked! And yes like you said don't rush it. Take your time! Have a nice day!

I don't know about other subs but I'm enjoying a slower paced progress tbh. It makes your videos feel chill and relaxing - a bit different from a lot of others. I think it's a good thing.

I'm enjoying your videos, really nice pace and length. I would have hit that ancient city No faster way to level early game than breaking skulk. Tons of diamonds and sneaky pants. No mobs, just have to learn to deal with the shriekers and warden. (not that hard)
Amazing video as always !! I was about to eat dinner and I had to tune in, but the reason you stopped burning was because when your horse died you were kicked off of it.. leaving you floating for a brief moment and out of the lava but when gravity did it's thing is when you died... now all your stuff gets shot out in random directions about 3 or 4 blocks in a full 360 degree radius from where you died. Also those trees now being burnt down look pretty cool!! They give off like a little campsite vibe! & we def need to add eachother on discord or something if you ever have any questions, I don't want to boast but I consider myself quite knowledgeable in MC.. been on java for 14 years lol 😭

RIP Steed :( New white horse? Name? pfft...Shadowfax...duh! I can only speak for myself, but I imaging many will agree....I love your channel and the slow pace. Interestingly, I see folks being less enthusiastic on the long plays and the channels that have the "perfect start" by ending the first 20 minute episode with fully enchanted diamond armor and an elytra. For me the whole point to Minecraft and watching others on RU-vid is enjoying the journey. I play Minecraft regularly, and watch/subscribe to any channels, like yours, that takes it slow and takes us along with your adventure. I also like the survival. Hardcore is a bit much, and while some to it well, most are disappointing. What I find really interesting about your pace is that, while you take it slow, and bring us along, you also cut out some of the more mundane aspects of Minecraft like...well, mining. I don't mind seeing it, but showing mining and other "boring" things needs to be a part of the story. You've managed to bring an incredible balance to your play. Looking forward to continuing the journey with you!

@@Jfiggsy Well...I've tried to think of a name that might go with "figs' and "white". What came to mind was that white sticky sap that oozes our of figs when picked or maybe breaking a fig leaf or branch. So..."sap" just wouldn't do. Then I thought of "sugar". I had a cousin with a horse named "Sugar", so that's a possibility. Why sugar? Mix sugar with figs (and a little lemon and a hint of cinnamon and you have fig preserves (or jam)...which I made last weekend :D I doubt you'll choose the name "Sugar", but...maybe you''ll enjoy my little true story? Oh, by the way... You died by the Creeper explosion because the creeper wasn't in the water in the moment of explosion, only you were (I think...). But it might be possible that the protection mechanism only works in a water source and not in floating water... I'm not sure about that. But I think the behavior on Java and Bedrock is the same...
After rewatching the video, analysing your luck to lava leads me to conclusion that you should make a netherite armor and tools Netherite doesn't burn in lava
