I Have the rewatched that FILM MANY MANY TIMES & I LOVE THAT MOVIE! The Glass breaking scene is one of the most tense scenes in any of the films. THe Dinosaurs looked great, The animatronics still hold up, the Kills were Great, Certain scenes are tense AF like The T-rexes showing up in the rain and you see the trees moving down below first, or the raptors digging their way in Or the chompies ganging up and mangling people. & the majority of the time the main thing I see people complain about is the 1 Gymnast scene where she kicks a raptor. Yeah its silly but they even said she did gymnastics at the beginning & yeah i do agree its silly but theres a lot of stuff I genuinely enjoy in that film & I always will love it personally

I'm honestly fine with the gymnastics scene, it's the Raptor's stunned look that kills me every time🤣🤣🤣 But I'm kinda glad they let the kid do something useful instead of just being a person that needs to be rescued.

I remember Steven Spielberg saying he wanted the sequel to be about finding the canister which got hidden in the mud and rain when Wayne Knight got killed, but nothing came of it, so the Telltale video game handled that storyline

There’s an early script for Jurassic Park 4 (later retitled Jurassic World) with the exact same premise. Basically a new character named Nick Harris is recruited by John Hammond to find it so that their team can create a breed of sterile dinosaurs that can wipe out all the dinosaurs that are escaping to the mainland from Isla Sonar and Nublar.

@@DavidAllgaier_ oh did yea I remember when the script got leaked online for Jurassic park 4. And people ripped it apart because it ended up with him training dinosaurs, and dinosaurs were supposed to have guns. That’s why Jurassic world took so damn long. But elements of that original script are in Jurassic world, training the raptors and them taking Dino dna and mixing it together.

Actually Roland didn’t break the infant’s leg. In a deleted scene Ludlow was drunk celebrating from capturing dinosaurs and tripped on the infant Rex , breaking its leg. Naturally it’s only logical since the scene was deleted we were left to assume that Roland maimed it.

I love that when Nick goes to pull up the stakes and pick up the infant, you can still see a wine bottle right next to it from the deleted scene.

That's always why Ludlow was eatin by the Rex infant. In both versions Ludlow is killed by the Rex infant it just happens slightly differently. A short of cinematic karma.

Sarah is definitely much more annoying for me as I've gotten older. Her first whole scene is infiltrating a Stegosaurus nest, taking a photo of an infant from inches away and then literally TOUCHING its face before having to run away from the adults. In literally the VERY NEXT SCENE, she is lecturing Malcolm and the others about leaving no trace and not wanting the dinosaurs to even know they're there on the island (and complaining that there is a fire at the campsite)....which is insanely hypocritical.

Even as a kid I found her annoying. I was kinda mad they tried so hard to make her the badass at the end that shoots the tranquilizer into the T-Rex. All I kept thinking was "U can try to make her look cool all u want, she's still annoying as fuck!"

Steven Spielberg admitted he lost more and more interest in the movie as production went on, which affected the film’s quality, but also said he acts too confident with sequels because the original films were hits, so he knows he has a hit on his hand, which he says causes him to make inferior movies compared to the previous ones

@@duckmurai He was excited initially but keep in mind, making films takes a long ass time (back then it did). The film took about 2-3 years to complete and focusing on just one film for that long can be draining. The reason he was so excited for the 1st film is because of how groundbreaking it was, and even though I think Lost World is a damn good film, nothing about it is really that groundbreaking. So I can see why he got disenchanted with the film.

After watching the Jurassic World films, I seriously forgot how damn good Spielberg's direction was in this film. Yeah the last 30 minutes feels like a separate movie, but the first two thirds are amazingly shot and directed. Plus John Williams score for this one is phenomenal!

It’s amazing how one edited scene can change so much about a character. And I never realized it before, but I somehow knew that was why it happened because the scene of Ludlow breaking its leg was in the Junior novelization book. I wondered why that wasn’t in the movie and now you’ve finally answered that mystery

I enjoyed and still watch it from time to time, but it did have some STUPID as hell moments LOL: 1) The car flying through the tree that the t-rex guys were in. What'd some dinosaur build a custom slingshot or something? 2) The daughter wasn't too bad, until it got to the gymnastics thing made worse when she's like, "HEY, YOU!" and the raptor is like, "MMMMMMYEEESS!?" 3) T-Rex getting loose in LA. It was campy fun but still stupid.

The lost world has some good moments In it, I still love the clif scene and Eddie’s death. But it also has some dumb ass parts. The whole San Diego shit does seem like it was wrote in the last moment. Overall I think Jurassic world is the best sequel for Jurassic park, but the lost world is after that. And fuck Jurassic park 3 that is a shit fest the whole way thru

The little girl getting mauled by compys happens in the first book and she is indeed fine and recovers quickly. Hammond actually gets killed and eaten by compys in the first book. Malcom’s daughter isn’t in the second book instead there are two kids that are students of one of the other characters, and they hide in those special custom RV’s that are flown by plane.

Spielberg directed this movie via Skype due to his wife being hospitalized. That's why it's nothing like the book which is way more intense. Chameleon Carnotaurs, Dogson the guy who hired Denis Nedry gets killed trying to steal a t rex baby, a chase scene with the raptors on motorcycles through the compound and Peter Ludlow getting killed when he joins Roland to hunt the t rex

About Ian's daughter, it never bothered me as a kid. Even now. Only reason is because I'm bi-racial and most of my cousins are bi-racial, so.. It was easy for me to just look over it. Only person in my household growing up that had a problem with it was my step dad. My mom is white and my step dad is African American. I still remember her asking him why it's an issue that Ian has a dark skinned daughter😂😂.

Eddie’s death is so much worse in the novel. He is dragged down from a tree by a pack of raptors and they tear him apart. The characters then run into the raptors later on and see them still eating his remains. He died protecting the kids though, so he dies a hero in both versions of The Lost World

I think they actually explained the lysine deficiency being solved by the dinosaurs feeding on beans and other stuff which contains it, while the carnivores feed on the herbivores in order to acquire it. Also, it’s more funny to me how many people are annoyed by that gymnastic scene than the scene in itself. I can see how it might be a bit much for some, but usually getting the attention of a wild animal and moving oddly is something they end up observing because they don’t know how to react to it. It’s not that odd for an animal to do, in my opinion at least. However, having two kids fixing an old ass car which is older than them and driving away with it, although the gasoline should have expired by then, that’s a different story.

Oh!! And btw, correct me if I’m wrong but the reason why Roland felt so impacted by Ajay’s death is because they were long time partners and there’s an uncut scene which introduced both of them earlier before everything on the island happened. It’s a shame it didn’t make it into the movie, because it did a good job telling us more about both of them and how they might be antagonistic but not real villains unlike Ludlow.

Your memory failed you, Korey. A deadman did not release the T-rex, he pressed the button to contain him in the cargo hold before he died from his injuries. Granted the dead man's grip keeps changing inbetween shots, including a close up of him pressing down on the open/green button instead of the red/close button. That's on Speilberg. Forgetting the scenes leading to the actual open of the cargo hold, that's on you.

So growing up I was OBSESSED with dinosaurs. I was young enough that The Lost World released around the time I was old enough to start being aware and form memories. It was my introduction to the franchise as I actually had no idea there was a first Jurassic Park until a few years later. I've personally always loved the film, even for some of its weaker and more curious moments.

I was 6 when the first one came out, its probably the first movie I have memories of seeing in theater, and that kicked off my total dinosaur obsession. So I remember loving this one, too. I mean, there was a baby T-Rex, I wanted one _so_ much. I didn't care if it'd absolutely eat me, even as a 10 year old I knew itd be worth it (wait, everyone else thinks getting eaten by a dinosaur would be worth it to get to see a dinosaur, right?)

I honestly think this film is one of the greatest adventure films ever made. It’s incredibly well crafted and had a unique identity that differentiates itself from the first movie without feeling like it’s in a different continuity. It’s an underrated masterpiece. Gymnastics aside.

I've never understood the negativity it gets, I think its a really solid sequel to one of the best films of all time. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdumb holds the award of worst film in the franchise.

I really enjoyed "The Lost World" when it came out, but I still preferred the 1st film over it. when it was Practical effects, it looked good, but the CGI was a bit jarring. the T-rex rampage in San Diego was pretty cool tho.

Really? I thought the continuity with that flying tire with more air time than Jordan & that acme acres sound effect on the projectile truck slang in the tree was much worse. I loved this one when it first came out and I still love it today. It may have some cheesy moments but Spielberg sure knows how to stage some great action.

It’s not bad. The tall grass scene and the trailer hanging from the cliff scene were all good. The San Diego scene was bad unnecessary and had some plot holes.

I want to say the original script called for the scenes with ultimately were cut either do to budget or being to ambitious, so that's why they rewrote the San Diego scenes which make no sense in this film.

Still my favourite Jurassic Park movie. I remember hearing that the scene at the end with Jeff Goldblum and Julianne Moore watching TV on the couch, you can see Steven Spielberg sitting between them in the reflection on the TV screen.

For all of its faults, I still unapologetically & unabashedly love The Lost World to this very day, and I always will. It's my second favorite Jurassic film. 🤷‍♂ JP > JP: TLW > JW > JW:FK > JP3

Y'all cut out the y'alls reaction to the baby T-Rex eating the main villain. The chat made a joke about how the adult T-Rex was standing there looking like "Yeah that's my boy" lol. I was gonna say that I always thought that as a child watching this 😂😂😂😂.

I’m british and I remember seeing this with my parents at the Chinese theatre in Los Angeles when it came out on its opening weekend. I just remember the experience of LA and seeing this with my parents as a 12 year old. So much nostalgia.

If the DT crew thinks Jurassic Park II was dumb, I truly pity them when they see Jurassic World III. Saw it this past weekend. Dinosaurs running in snow and swimming in an iced over lake, like it ain’t no thang. Makes F9 look like a candidate for Mensa.

The opening minutes are masterful. The rich family picnicking on the beach and the little girl stumbling on the little dinos. The mom comes running up and there’s a shot of the her screaming and then we cut to Jeff Goldblum yawning in a subway with the squeal of a passing train taking over the mom’s scream. The transition is up there with the Lawrence of Arabia match cut, and 2001’s bone/spacecraft cut. It’s the best sequel to the original than any of the others by an epoch or two…

Fun fact about the Compys: In the original Jurassic Park novel, the Compys are the first dinosaurs we're introduced to and as the readers we're immediately shown how dangerous the little shits are: They killed and ate a newborn baby that was laying in her crib. The scene of the little girl getting attacked by the Compys is also in the original JP novel, I wanna say she survived in the novel but it's been a couple years since I read it. Highly recommend the novel for JP, haven't read the one for Lost World, but it's a completely different vibe than the films. It's much darker and more horrifying, with many of the characters dying without leaving much to the imagination and adds alot more detail to the process of creating the dinosaurs and the behind the scenes stuff, such as getting more background on how Nedry became a mole and depicts him in a slightly more sympathetic light.

They could've made the rest of the franchise like Saw/Cube/Escape Room, and just had Hammond keep selecting groups of people to trick into going to the island and get eaten by the dinosaurs.

The best scenes were the grass scene, bloody waterfall scene, the cliff scene, and the ending rampage in San Diego. Other than that, it’s incredibly slow and the characters are kind of blank slates
