I’ve said before that CC running a run & gun style of play and beating the Mercury twice and the Liberty and playing the Aces well for 3 quarters is showing international teams a way to beat Team USA. I mean she has played against the USA team coach and all but two of Team USA players in the last 5 or 6 games. Obviously Collier was out and she hasn’t played Alyssa Thomas since their first 11 games when they got no rest. If this slowed down style is what Reeves is planning for the Olympics then Team USA is vunerable to any team with a good or great point guard leading a run & gun.

I agree with you. The team is playing with Caitlin Clark way more than the way Indiana's coach wants!!!! It's incredible how Indianas game changed to a more fast and offensive team.

The Fever need to offer Lisa Bluder $10 million to come coach for a season and mentor a forward-thinking associate coach to take over after her. Bluder took Clark and a very average group of talent and went to the title game two years in a row...she understood how to build a system around a generational talent instead of trying to cram the talent into the system. It's obvious that Sides has a system and she wants Clark to fit into it. That's just foolish.

The team had undone all the positives and progress they had made. Until the fourth quarter. The system won! Fast pace is how they need to play! Mitchell played defense!!!!! Mitchell even passed, she had 3 assists. She had 4 rebounds a block and a steal!! Boston was a beast and made an incredible play to save a ball going out. She had 16 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 blocked shots!!!! Katie Lu was amazing. She had critical baskets, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals!!!!. The bench did well too. . If they play high speed, they will win many Games and have a great chance to beat good teams. Catlin Clark is the best point guard to lead them in run and gun in the WNBA! Sides public dressing down of Catlin was horrible, Just like her grabbing arm in. the game before.

CC should threaten to leave WNBA to take up the Big 3 $5million offer and see how the haters react: no sold out arenas, no charter planes, botched tv deal. And will see how Angel Reese and the Rory bring the boys to the yard.😂

The fever are an inept organization, but if Caitlin can play her style all of their games become competitive. If they can gel the Fever are so close to a championship team.

I’d like to suggest something during the Olympic break. Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull cross-train. Clark and Mitchell teach Hull how to shoot and score. Hull teaches aggressive takeaway defense. Mitchell teaches tough and smart. Clark teaches smart assists and passes. They all learn to ignore Sides. Let them cross train so they can substitute for each other as necessary. Then they bring in the rest of the team.

I hope that the Australian coaching staff watch this game carefully. How to beat a team coached by Reeve.

Caitlin's points scored or assisted on is 855 points as of 7/15/2024, she is responsible for 40.2% of her team's total points. Caitlin is worn out by being covered for 94 feet and being mugged constantly. That fact isn't often mentioned by most commentators. They just don't get it. She also has been at it since Nov of last year. I think after the upcoming rest you may see something greater. We shall see. The girl got game.

You can't stop Caitlin because she IS the living embodiment of that run and gun transitional system. Even if you manage to use the same system against her and the team, nobody else will be nearly as good at it as Caitlin herself. Definitely not in the next 25 years. When people call her a generational talent, this is what that actually means. Who else will have that Basketball IQ, handles, complete skillset with a specialty in passing (in other words, she is above average in every single basketball skill and the best at passing), athleticism, mental game, etc all in one single player? And like he said, this is at her worst she'll ever be... that's scary.

CC's game is exactly the kind of game that will always dominate against female players... RUN RUN RUN PUSH THE PACE ALWAYS!!! This style of play negates tall slow players like Reece, Cardosa, etc., and keeps the defense on it's heels. CC's always looking to push and has the court vision and passing skills to torch any group of women anytime, anywhere! All CC needs is teammates who can run and actually catch her passes. Boston has figured it out. Mitchell is getting there... but some of these girls just can't seem to catch a pass. When they all figure out how to, the Fever will shine through!

Got a question: I'm a late-comer to watching the WNBA . Caitlin perked my interest (of course) . The scores I've seen so far are two-digit. In the history of the WNBA, have there been any 3-digit scores? IMO, if Caitlin would be unleashed and the team aligned with her, I can see 3-digit scores from the Fever somewhat often, especially in the time period when the rest of the WNBA teams are still frozen in their own systems...???

Sides gave in at the end of the 4th as she's lost the players. These teams are not built to adjust, the players are good at what they do but they haven't been developed. Reese can't shoot away from the basket. How do you play starting from 6 years old and not develop a mid-range shot. Clark is represented by Alan Zucker and is likely on the phone to help her.

Boston is becoming a beast

Clark is the first WNBA rookie to post 400+ points, 150+ assists, and 100+ rebounds in a season. Basically, the best all-around rookie of all time, and there are still at least 15 more games to go.

To keep it into perspective, the Lynx are one of the if not the best defensive team in the WNBA. They took CC out of her game and controlled CC's passing lanes. They did a good job of not letting CC do what she likes to do and mucking up her game. They were defending the pick and roll well and running quick guards at CC. The Fever were able to overcome this which is a very good sign for them.

Also Boston is radiant! So perfect!

Aside from coaching decisions and poor shooting by both teams, the game was tight through all four quarters. It was exciting to watch.

The Lynx coach is a phony. She's been saying cc is not that good, but puts her best player on defense against her. She used her top scorer to guard her and it wore her out, which is why the Fever had such a big 4th quarter.

Unfortunately Christie Sides has several answers to slow down Caitlin. Her set offense from the movie Hoosiers and Erica wheeler. By some miracle Wallace is out of the rotation for now.

At the All-Star Break, I expect The Sky to be 9 and 15, The Fever to be 12 and 14.

Make a video showing that every Fever player who hit the floor in Minneapolis made at least 4-6 points each because more players are passing to find the open player based on the flow of the game that point guard Caitlin had initiated & maintains. (with the exception of Erica Wheeler where Christie calls time-out making that substitution) Speaks of great point distribution that her award winning defense could handily take care of. So for all the Caitlin Haters out-there, Caitlin did have a slow start & Christie did ask for Caitlin to change roles to get the ball down to the post & Caitlin complied with what was requested of her. However, once the Fever got 7-9 points behind with the slow-down-pace low-post-play, I guess Christie didn't mind Caitlin taking charge, like a field general, to bring back up the pace of the game to go ahead to feed A. Boston, Nalyssa Smith & Kelsey Mitchel with more snappy passes being double covered each time she entered the 'paint' So, the most significant contribution to the victory over the Lynx, yesterday, was a change in pace, initiated by Catlin Clark, after having obeying Coach for two quarters on slower play amounting to quiet a defensive struggle. So, since the Lynx, statistically, was a better defensive squad, the Fever 'stalled' on their offensive production doing the 'slow-pace-post-up' strategy. So, for any Caitlin haters, they have enough material to be negative about; but, at the end of the day, Wonder Woman came out and went into Beast-Mode by the end of the 4th quarter.

No team can keep up with her pace for 4 quarters. Must be why Sides is always teying to slow her down. If I was coach, she would have the ball sorinting down the court. Let the lazy players on both teams try and keep up.

There was a joke in the early jordan nba career. The only person that could keep jordan under 20 was his college coach dean smith.

Cheryl Reeve saw what to do to stop CC (& the system) after the Aces' coach Nate Tibbetts was unable to do so & she repeated his mistakes. And that's our Olympic coach....

Clark's strength is her ability to read the game and turn it into opportunity. She is a play maker par excellence. She did not even notice her triple triple because she was playing for the team. Why are Boston and Mitchell scoring so well now? Because they are moving into position and taking her passes. The turnovers of the early season are now points for them and the team. Measuring her performance by baskets shows a total lack of understanding. There are no stats for inspiring a team to play better. It is a pity that Sides and Dunn do not seem get the message.

I don't agree with your view on Sides. She managed this victory well enough. She knew and saw that Minnesota would take extreme measures against Clark. It was obvious from Reeves' T-shirt if nothing else. So they played an alternative and more defensive strategy where they tried to capitalize on the defense condensation on Clark. Sides always knew she could release Clark. But as long as the tactic worked, there's no need to let them see and adapt to what could happen. Then in the 4th, when they need it, they just pull the stops and win. And it's too late for Reeves to figure something.

She didnt stop CC today...CC had multiple wide open 3 point shots that she missed and multiple opportunities to hit a mids and lay ups but missed them as well . She had a bad performance today mane! She stopped herself it wasnt the defense!

No amount of hatred, bigotry, or bias against Caitlin Clark can stop Caitlin Clark, and her positive affects with her own team's ranks!

Sides had the brakes on, and when Clark started to get froggy she got pulled and reamed for not playing slow enough. At this point I can only think that Sides's sabatoge is intentional, no one is that dumb. I was surprised that Sides gave her the ball back in the 4th, Sides acts like an alcoholic or a gambler.

Not that I agree with this, but I think coach Sides was trying to get Caitlan to shoot more with the slower offense. Caitlan is not a shooting guard, she's a Point guard.

The last game almost gassed the team, and with one of the best defense teams was a goal to start slower then bring the heat. It’s finding a happy medium with it that I believe the team is working out. Yes the coach makes bad calls but she also doesn’t want to gas them out.

4th Q shift in momentum for Fever probably due to youth of Fever and the 3 quarters worth of defense shut down CC. Eventually defense fatigues...ankles break...things open up for Fever offense. If you look at majority of 4Q offense by Fever...it's obvious. If Sides would let them run full throttle 80% of thr game...they would be blowing out teams IMHO.

If Christie Sides wins her ego battle and subdues Clark she will lose the war because Clark will go somewhere else her rookie contract is done. The entire job for the fever is to sell the franchise to Clark. Clark is not selling, she is buying. Close the deal. Find a coach that works for CC. Do not fuck this up!
