The Mace just got NERFED (it sucks now lol) 

I don't really care about the nerfs, except the attack speed kind of ruined the hype. But if you think about it in irl, it makes sense because maces are very heavy to carry due to their weight.

I think the slow attack speed makes sense because it's meant to be heavy

The speed nerf is in my opinion great,its a good answer to people who just uses the mace everytime and not switching to your sword like its supposed to do

essay time >:D The 24W19A update is very controversial, that much is certain. A good amount of the community say that the Mace was nerfed heavily to the ground, and I agree with them.. But not for the reasons you think. See, I’m entirely on board with the Mace’s attack speed being slow, as it’s something crafted with the heavy core, an item that takes forever to break once placed. Unfortunately, while I think this one change is a great positive, all of the other nerfs pile together to drastically decrease the Mace’s viability and worth. I think that’s why a lot of people dislike these nerfs, despite asking for some originally. It makes the Mace a niche weapon that doesn’t reward skill. This also decreases the windburst enchantment’s worth, as the Mace can’t chain hit effectively anymore. This all sucks, but i have a few ideas that can spice things up >:D First off, buff the Mace’s base damage back to 7, and adjust the damage falloff to be much more lenient: the first 4 blocks fallen having 4dpb, the next 3 having 3dpb, and all following blocks having 2dpb. Second: buff the windburst enchant by making WB Maces have an attack speed of 0.9, and increasing the intensity of the wind explosion. This launches the player up higher, and gives them enough time to fully charge their Mace. Third: either make the player fall faster when holding the Mace, or nerf the base Mace’s attack speed to 0.6. Ik people are already mad at the speed nerf, but I believe that along with the buffs I offer this will balance the Mace in a unique way. I believe these buffs will make the Mace a uniquely dynamic, powerful, and balanced weapon; one that is earned through rigorous trials, combat, and grind.

one idea that I saw was giving the mace 1.1 attack speed by default, but each level of density took away 0.1 attack speed. this would make a density 5 mace have 0.6 attack, which combined with my changes feels p fair idk

yes but it can't one hit the warden, also some of the enchantments can't combine for the mace all 4 of them, now density 1 to 5 levels instead 1 block per level now it does 0.5 per level so 2.5 is the density 5,

@@andreavidojevic3639 exactly. These changes pretty much only effective the ability to insta kill bosses and the warden too easily

OK. mace now does 5 attack damage now you can't wind burst yourself up, if there is more say it I think that's all,

now you call it mace 6/10

For anyone who knows what balance is, they will know that what Mojang did with the deck with these nerfs is poorly done. Even wind loading doesn't help make it a viable option, it's no longer worth it. That is to say: take away everything you did to the maze and do it again but this time do it right.

I don't really think the Mace is still the best in the game. You could say it only needs "a little setup," but thay setup is super reactable to the opponent who has plenty of time to react to you wind bursting

It does five attack damage meaning and only does 2 1/2 hearts every hit luckily a critical hit will do significantly more and jump hits are better in bedrock and bedrock does not have 1.9 combat and uses the good old combat system.

Probably density. Breach would only be useful in pvp.

its a complicated one but the smash attack can be activated after jumping off one block so i think its fine

The crossbow is pretty good, it can act as a piercing assault rifle or as a shotgun (for Bedrock at least). The second worst weapon is the sword

Yeah, they keep adding bad and useless things to the game. Like why add something if you’re just gonna nerf it?

Keep hating, it the community that wanted the nerf, if they made the mace already nerfed when it came out then more will complain

First people complain because you can one shot a player in full protection 4 netherite armour from the height of just one wind-burst, and now people complain because they made the mace balanced. This is why I hate this community

Especially in such a large community of course different people are going to want different things, but honestly very few people were complaining about the mace when it was first introduced. Now people are complaining because it’s the headline feature of the annual update and now it’s virtually useless.

Secondly, there were a massive amount of people complaining about the mace being overpowered, if I could attach images on RU-vid comments, I would stick multiple screenshots here. A large amount of people after the wind burst nerf complained that 'They should nerf the damage, not the wind burst'. And here we are, with the damage nerfed, and player somehow managing to complain more about game design. Speaking of game design, people were also saying that the high damage of the mace was 'bad game design', and that a damage cap was needed. You're making me out to be fighting a strawman, when in fact I am criticising real arguments that people have made. Thirdly, the mace is not "the headline feature of the update". The trial chambers are. The title of the update is the "tricky trials". Don't see any maces in there. Finally, you stated that the mace is "virtually useless". Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but most people who say this haven't even tested the latest snapshot. The mace deals more damage than before from a small height, but has been nerfed from falling higher. It's still really good, and as KingBDogz said, "Mace, even with the nerfs, is easily the most powerful weapon in the game." What would you prefer, balanced weapon, or weapon able to one-shot players in maxed-out armour from four blocks up? I don't know about you, but I personally prefer a balanced weapon. So If you haven't already PLEASE test the mace in snapshots, because RU-vidrs tend to exaggerate these issues for content and clickbait.
