Over twenty times a year, there is an amazing natural show as exceptionally high tides totally surround the Mont-Saint-Michel. A real sight to behold! bitly.com/VisitMontSaintMichel
We stayed overnight there and I had been videotaping it from the parking lot below in the evening. That night I discovered I had lost my passport and driver's license and wallet. I prayed to St. Michael asking for help to find it. Early the next morning I retraced my steps in the parking lot, which apparently had been inundated with sea water overnight. Amazingly, I found everything I had lost, which had been floating in the sea water. I call it my Mont-Saint-Michael miracle.
@LagiNaLangAko23 *Don't worry this is not true (Fake News) Notre Dame Cathedral Paris was an accident, and will be rebuilt exactly as before. The Catholic Church has MANY MILLIONS in it's deep vaults and can easily afford restoration costs without any Public Donations. They have reaped MILLIONS over the years with assurances that would ensure a **_quick preferential entry to Heaven._*
@@GrrMeister and catholic church spends millions every day for charity, feeding poor people, givin them shelter and education... If there wasnt for catholic church there wouldnt be amazing places loke this
It is like from a DREAM, and FRANCE is full of treasures just like these, FR the MOST BEAUTIFUL country in the World, I hope young French people realise what a treasure of herritage France poses, they need to preserve this for France and for the world
I went there last year. Beautiful “village” and the view from the top is astonishing. If you’re into photography, anticipate the moments in the year where the water is at high tide and go there. You can take pictures of the island with hundreds of seagulls flying around the rock.
This island in France 🇫🇷 sure looks beautiful. I haven't been there before but I'd really love to go there sometime in the future. Good evening from Ireland 🇮🇪
What our ancestors did to build this over hundreds years is really unbelievable, but what they did in the 2000s to save it (removing the old sea wall from 1900s building a new bridge and a dam which work with tides to remove all the sediment) is also pretty amazing!
This magnificent beautiful place is on my "Bucket list" to see before I live this earthlife.. Thank you for sharing this beautiful artwork video 💕🌹✌😊🌹💕
Hodge Hill Girls School. BIRMINGHAM. UK. “Mont San Michel”. I once visited this beautiful place, having never heard of it. I found myself at this incredible location due to a series of events that took place during the month of June, 1983. A friend and I had recently celebrated our 18th birthdays, and we booked a camping holiday near to the French, Brittany town of Cancale. The day of departure from BIRMINGHAM coach station, saw us aboard a double decker coach. We sat aloft. On the journey out of the city, a housing estate captured my interest. The estate lay to the right of the motorway, I saw a working man´s club, petrol station, small shopping precinct and a large secondary school perched on the hill overlooking the estate. I also noticed particular homes and their neat front gardens. We arrived at the camp site, located on the outskirts of Cancale. We soon discover that there was a group of school girls on an end of term cultural trip, also at the camp site. They told us they were from Hodge Hill Girls School, Hodge Hill, BIRMINGHAM. They had arrived in two mini vans, so I guess there may have been approximately 20 in their party. The girls were aged 15 and 16. Instincts kicked in, and so did the only game in town. My friend and I somehow got invited by the teachers, to accompany them all on a day trip. We must have appeared to be reasonably safe and respectable. We travelled at the very rear of one of the decrepit mini buses in a couple of spare seats. We had no idea at this point where we were heading. We supplied the teachers with Tape Cassettes, and were soon travelling through French country side listening music of the band of the day “Japan”. We eventually arrived at Mont San Michel, and we began our pilgrimage against gravity. We slowly meandered up through the cobbled streets, taking in nearly all of the gift shops, until we eventually arrived at the summit, in the company of our new friends. Lunch time came around, and we all ate in the grounds immediate to the Abbey. The views was spectacular. The company was very lovely and 1983 school girl esc. I can still visualize where we sat to eat, and with whom we sat. I sensed that something very synchronistic was taking place. The holiday ended, and my friend and I returned home. Part two of this story commenced after receiving a phone call, from one of those delightful young ladies. I would later learn that the housing estate that had caught my attention was home to most of the girls and the secondary school on the hill was their school.
I visited there in 2018 and it was fabulous, really narrow alleyways between buildings though! We went to the top and there was a defibrillator on the staircase wall, I understand why! There are fantastic views and the old buildings are so interesting.
By far one of the most impressive "building" in the world, such a unique charisma and atmosphere and then...... they built a highway... I can't believe this...
Notechis Highway? ehm it's a bridge to provide access to the mount at all times, since 28 April 2012, the new car park on the mainland has been located 2.5 kilometres (1.6 miles) from the island. Visitors can walk or use shuttles to cross the causeway. On 22 July 2014, the new bridge by architect Dietmar Feichtinger was opened to the public. The light bridge allows the waters to flow freely around the island and improves the efficiency of the now operational dam.
I didn't realise that it was only an Island twenty times a year. I thought it was the same as our St Michael's mount, that it was surrounded by water twice a day. Wonderful video, sending you a hello from Cornwall.
*Certainly got to be on your **_'bucket list'_** - I ticked it off several years ago, truly magical place along with St Michaels Mount (Penzance Cornwall England)*
I could not believe how magnificent this magical place is , truly breathtaking it is also worth mentioning the fabulous omelettes from La Mère Poulard.
Think my family go back to Normandy...my grandmother, mother's side said her grandmother's name was de varde...would love to know...have to visit sometime...beautiful.
Ebony Eyes “Grandmother’s mother”? When you are referring to someone from your Mother’s side of the family it called, “Maternal”. Your Father’s side of the family is called, “Paternal”. You can trust me, I’m a Grandma! 👵🏻 😉😂🤣😂♥️😊
