I find Woohoojin be a very good coach don’t get me wrong, but the Chess analogy is not at all how it is. If something works in diamond but not in radiant then its like a gambit. Some gambits work on intermediate level and just don’t at high level, but its still a viable way to play in the rating that you are in. You give up something(in val its I guess positioning) and you get something in return and thats an off angle. Like with perfect play you are going to get punished, but you are still playing against humans not bots. My openings in Chess is gambit only but i have found myself rarely in a worse situation because of it. More so that I’m just being dumb lmaooo
@ralfduong1325 I think you're missing the fact that taking risks or gambits isn't bad as long as you understand the risk associated. As you inevitably get better at chess or val, those gambits are going to start costing you more and more though. Or at the very least become something you only do on ecos, bullet games, etc.
@@ralfduong1325 I don't really play chess so I could be wrong, but isn't Woohoojin's entire point that you'll only get punished against better players? It might work against people at your current level and win you games, but if you were trying to win a tournament, it wouldn't be good anymore as better players will know how to punish you for it
@@ralfduong1325your point about gambits not working at a high level and only working at intermediate level is woohoojin's point. If he wants to rank up past diamond, he can't do a gambit that only sometimes works against diamonds
@@ArkbladeIX He can do that gambit in diamond then right? Which he is then. You just have to know when you are facing up against ascendants (with like tracker or something) then you can switch up your repretiore to a more effective but boring one. Or change it up if you are about to rank up. That is of course if you know what you are playing is a gambit but I don't think the neon in the video thought of the play it as a gambit. Which is where he went wrong I think.
maybe you'd get some aced on your split, or better yet skye might call your dog ascent, if she ever stop wiffing that yoru or kayo, she fractureing with, WINGMANNNNN
At like 18:20 he mentions expecting good valorant. As much as that feels justifying to hear, as someone who plays in a lot of formatted matches across a couple fps titles, it really sucks actually qing into ranked with friends because pretty much every game there's at least one to two players who consistently use those cheese spots, odin spam, judge rushes, etc. It isn't necessarily hard to counter, but it is annoying to get called out for NOT expecting that type of play.
Genuine thought- I don't think he's entirely right in saying "good Valorant". In a perfect world, you'd win all situations, 100% of the time. Since nobody's perfect, we're ideally are trying to get to 100% as close as possible. That means that we're trying to play every situation perfectly. While it's not realistic to expect to win everything, not everything that's "good Valorant" is actually good. I understand and can relate to the numbers theory, that statistically speaking..., but! We're trying to find a way to reduce those statistical anomalies and make sense of as much as we can. This means that sometimes, we might want to clear cheese spots. Or maybe not clear in a full slowmo mode, but in a couple of bigger steps, not every single potential off angle. In any case, woo is a great coach and has so much value to offer, it's great. I just don't think that this saying "good Valorant" will translate well because we don't play stats. We play situations. Just like chess- we don't make a move thinking that statistically speaking, opponent is going to make X move. No. What we try to do is to find a perfect move based on our current knowledge. While good Valorant idea might be an upgrade to so many people, I dont think it's ideal.
Predicting this fine hooj content once more: ok this ones kinda harder but I'll do my best -opening about not studying your pro vods? -gunfight hygene and angle understanding -some neon tech nonsense
Thanks woohoojin, after watching your daily coach vod i can grind to diamond 1 from silver 2 in just 60 hours of play, and i only play like 2 or 3 matches a day
Don't do it. "The Main Thing that Keeps Players Hardstuck" is the game being rigged: gun fights, matchmaking, cheaters, boosters, boosted players. Yesterday, I hit a HS, the opponent's head goes backwards, as if I hit the HS, and then he kills me. Insane game.
@@Beveyboygames yep... n0ted is coping as well. The more you know, the more obvious it is. I don't expect uneducated kids to understand how the real world works.
4:56 in any decent player's mind Sova would be playing with Omen yes, but I would not be surprised if sova is just lurking top mid cuz players are so unpredictable in those ranks. I am imm2 and istg I have more trouble in plat than in ascendant-immortal because players play so differently and stupidly but it works.
i don't play valorant anymore but i play halo competitively, and watching hoojs videos STILL applies to all games, 3 second rule getting implemented in my next session
who should i watch vods of to study sova guys? i thought of average jonas but is he even that good besides of being a lineup larry? any suggestions? im gold
No you did not. You don't clear uncommon angles on retake. For instance clearing retake A where this guy was you clear the gap into main, then you hold wine, clear common site angles, (heaven, gen, hell, dice, box, heaven box, ect,) clear wine, then back to site. All of those are common angles.
Yes this angle was played with jett! I pointed it out to Zammey at the time during the watch party and broke down why the play made sense on the jett pick at the time, you can go find the VOD on my VODs channel!
Nah i just don’t get the critical analysis it doesn’t work like that mid game nobody would count every movement of the enemy team in a real round you can’t blame Zammy for not having info on everyone.
“You can slide just before the barrier drops to get an extra slide, I did not know that.” Me who is only silver one for the first time and have known that for months thanks to temet: … Nice. I use it almost every single time I am on a barrier, there are very few scenarios where there is a disadvantage. the barrier hides the sound if you do it right, gets you timing literally nothing else can get you, and if you’re good at knowing how far it sends you, you can hide in places no one else can get to silently without the enemy seeing you.
"consider bomb plant as +1 dude" so would you say it's worth to sacrifice yourself to get the bomb down if you know you're not gonna get out alive if you pull through (assuming that you actually get the spike down and it's a good plant spot)
@@evilsdoom2606 I feel like if you ever tried to take out your molly here after killing the first person you're just going to die with your molly out to the guy trading
All i want to say is that most boxing coaches who produces champs never reached the highest level or their profession. This goes to show you that you dont need to be a radiant player to be a great coach. Dont get the controversy
Perhaps its just me, but in the past week I've seen a decrease in the one year mans presence. Perhaps he's given up. Perhaps he is getting lazy of copy and pasting every day. Perhaps he knows I'm gaining on him. Despite all this, I feel as if I play to win instead of rank up as well. Granted, I don't play much at all (150 hours). Perhaps I'll play more in the upcoming weeks. Log Day 23. . .
After you get a pick that puts you in a highly advantageous position as long as you're not currently in danger, take 3 seconds to tuck away, pause, read the map, and figure out the best way to secure the round without risking the other team taking value or picks, or even worse, getting a winnable round out of a silly push. TL:DR don't be hasty to rush and close out rounds just because numbers advantage, evaluate game state first.
