Serial butter fingers here 🙋🏻♀️
I go back and forth between my diy and pre-mixed bags. Usually larger potted plants are in the DIY mix and smaller potting jobs get the premixed bags.
When I first started getting into plant care, I had no idea different plants had different soil preferences. And while this can be as simple and complicated as you like, I will say 99% of my houseplants are all in a chunkier mix made of organic and inorganic components. I don’t want my mixes to be TOO well-draining because I can’t keep up with frequent waterings, but I also want to make sure it’s not too moisture-retentive for more sensitive water-hating plants like my baby Thai Cons 🫣
But all of this is moot if you are constantly dropping all your plants anyway ☠️
My worst plant accident was dragging a shelf of plants down with a trailing Pothos I was moving. What’s yours 🥸
