Without question, Jimmy Ruffin is a very underrated vocalist. And he could hold his own with just about any Motown lead singer that was on the label during the 60's and 70's. My favorite track by Jimmy Ruffin is "What Become of The Broken Hearted". The music business is a cutthroat game. And I believe that the best chance for an artist to really make it, is if he can write and produce his own music.

The thing with Jimmy although he was older than David. He couldn't capture the magic that he had. But if you dig deeper there were many singles that he put out were remakes by other Motown artists that charted. He has a Motown Anthology. Just listen to his earliest works before 1966. The man can sing!!!
