When Theory asked if that was a podracer, my immediate thought was a partially deconstructed Y-Wing.

I got the notification and I thought the actual trailer was out

Mando felt like a badass character after the first 2 seasons… after being Bo Katan’s sidekick and Grogu’s babysitter again, I really don’t feel like he’s a movie main character anymore.

I have very little faith in Failoni, I want Star Wars to succeed, but we’ve been burned *_SO_* many times. It’ll be tough for me to support this, depends who’s involved.

Favreau is a legit big screen director. I only have any hope because he is involved. He did give us a few great moments in the first two seasons. He’s the only one there who has been able to recapture the magic at all.

Season 3 REALLY Soured the pot for both Mando and Grogu. Not sure I’m anywhere near excited about a future film.

End credit scene is gonna be Reva sitting in a dark room telling Mando she's putting together a team to stop Thrawn.

Disney is basically milking the Star Wars: Mando and Gorgu

All roads lead to the sequels at the end of the day. Nothing can make up for that at this point.

it all leads to the sequel trilogy. so why would i care? i mean, if they were telling such a great story on the way to the sequels that the journey itself was undeniably awesome, then we could talk about it. but they're taking you on a mostly crappy journey to a totally crappy destination. that's not a bus i'm excited to get on.

I think I can speak for most fans in saying that we don’t just want characters we love back. We just want good Star Wars. I don’t care who is in it as long as it’s good.

I really wish Disney would have incorporated wedge antilles, he's literally best x wing pilot after Luke. Fans would've gone nuts, in these new shows, with a wedge cameo, even if they obviously have to recast him cause of age etc, honestly they could've made a star wars "top gun" type show and wedge is the main guy, would've been sick! I wouldve called it "Star Wars Squadron"

can't stand this release schedule. Two years between seasons, and now four years for a single movie? No wonder these projects are so expensive if everyone involved is wasting time.

I am constantly impressed with your ability to stay positive with this franchise when I have really given up. My personal feeling is unless there are literally glowing reviews from critics like yourself, The Drinker, Mauler, and others who have been calling out the crap I do plan on seeing this.

Okay, why? The Grogu character has run it's course by the end of season 2. There's nothing more to do and tbh Grogu is just uninteresting and a little cringe. They had a perfect end with him joining Luke but no, they wanted the money and cute toy sales.

not allowing grogu to go with luke, grow up and change was an utterly cynical decision by the studio that has destroyed any real sense of continuity and progression. they just thought they'd landed on something good for merch sales so clearly intervened and said, 'grogu stays a child, they're a double act in perpetuity'. awful

I feel so bad for Temuera man. They ruined his show and are just ghosting Boba in everything after. Dude’s one of the nicest guys out there, and he’s so passionate about the Fetts and Star Wars, and they continue to screw him over. If he’s not confirmed in this, I won’t watch it. Also, I’m so sick and tired of Grogu. Grogue has gotten so stale.

Filoni and Favraeu explained, Mando season three was screwed up terribly by the firing of Gina Carano. They had written her a much larger part than in the past seasons in preparation of sliding her into Rangers of the New Republic, and when she was fired by Kennedy, they were forced into furious, last minute rewrites. That’s why no one liked season 3.

Theory, The Acolyte was secretly greenlit, personally by Kathy Kennedy, around late 2019. Dave Filoni wasn't a part of its creation or gestation. Filoni wasn't Executive Creative Director until mid-2020...and wasn't Chief Creative Officer until 2022. Production for, The Acolyte took place between 2021 and 2023. When Filoni was "brought in" to look at it, Headland and her writers had already penned all of the scripts, and only got notes from Filoni. Kennedy gave Headland autonomy on her project, just like she gave autonomy to Tony Gilroy for, Andor (Dave Filoni's name isn't linked with that show either...is he also responsible for its result?). Plus, contrary to popular belief, Filoni's role is not all-encompassing and all controlling...he cannot exclusively greenlight or cancel projects; he can't dictate storytelling and characterization, only make suggestions; and he can't commandeer other showrunners' shows. So, given that Kennedy was the one who picked Leslye Headland to realize the (supposed) last days of The High Republic, We know Filoni wasn't a driving force behind the storytelling. Just look at, The Acolyte: Does ANY OF IT mirror Dave Filoni's storytelling style or moral compass in telling tales in Star Wars? Keep in mind, also: Since its conception, in 2018, Dave Filoni has had no hand in the creation, execution, and custodianship of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative. He's the main Head Of Animation, and he wasn't even asked to be involved with, Young Jedi Adventures. Lucasfilm Ltd., since 2013, has become very compartmentalized, which is rather different from what the company was, when George Lucas was running things. It's now full of varied creative factions with different mindsets and belief systems when it comes to storytelling, in general.

S3 was disappointing. Dave Filoni has been involved in some ordinary Star Wars shows recently. I hope he has not been sucked into the Disney Star Wars horror story to the expense of what he knows to be quality Star Wars.

Some info from the trailer they showed: The part where they showed Grogu and Mando holding hands was the shot from S1 and most of the scenes in the first half were from S1. The Razor Crest looks to be back and Zebb being in the movie was unexpected but cool to see. It reminds me of his scene at the end of Season 3 where we do see Zebb making a cameo. Not sure if it's Hoth that we see but if it is cool. Overall good teaser for the movie and hopefully it's good.

Man i am completely hyped, I hope this is gonna be a return to form after S3

The reason why Marvel avengers work is because it was based on our earth and everything was happening on our earth for the most part aside from Thor and a couple of other alien characters. But Star Wars is such a big galaxy, and it feels like such a small galaxy when you have all these characters, meet up and have a connection to everything.

The movie has just started filming so I guess that’s why we didn’t see that much footage of the film yet

LucasFilm is still being occupied by middle aged, or older, drunk wine women. They all hate white me. Luke won't show up in any quality capacity. If he does, it will just be to down play him, and lift up Ahsoka. Hitching your wagon to Dave Filoni's toy box of characters is a fast track to niche market. I have zero hope for this.

I vaguely remember hearing that Kennedy wanted Grogu to stay with mando so that they can keep selling merch, which was why book of boba fett turned out the way it did and mando season 3 turned out the it did, this was a couple of years ago though so I might be wrong

I think if they bring Han, Luke and Leia in Mandalorian and Grogu movie it'll be more of a cameo but helping set up where they'll be for Heir to the Empire where I think they'll be a lot more prevalent.

They're going to have to do a lot to get me excited for this after season 3 (and all the other TV failures). Plus it won't have Greef Karga or Cara Dune, which were Mando characters I enjoyed.

I can’t wait to go crazy when it comes out, I’m always hoping for the best of this franchise. I think you nailed it with “too many cooks” comment and I hope Dave grasps on what we are trying to say as viewers. He has loved this franchise along side us all these years. Hopefully the shortcomings he presented will be the character arch Dave needed and he ends up making some of the most compelling Star Wars we’ve seen in years. I will remain hopeful.

If they don't do a version of Han Solo, Alden Ehrenreich, or Harrison Ford for Boba Fett, they need to bring back Cobb Vanth at the very least. Maybe even give Timothy Olyphant his own show. Make him an intergalactic version of Marshal Matt Dillon.

Mando season 3 was fkn great. Vastly underrated. Theory needs to rewatch.

I really think they need to make an animated series of Luke in his prime, voiced by Hamill, with animation similar to the last few episodes of the clone wars. I feel like they could fix a lot of the stuff that has happened in the timeline after ROJ, similar to what they did with clone wars animation series and rebels animation series that made the prequels much better, and more accepted. I feel like animation is the on out true way to fix all the problems post ROJ because you can get the right voice actors, and have no limits on how to present the stories need correctly.

Forcing Grogu back in Book of Boba Fett killed any interest for me in anything with Grogu moving forward. He worked for S1-2 but after that I was done, whether Disney thinks they need him for merch or not.

Theory please! Give us at least a snippet of Vader Episode 2, small teaser anything!

Personal theory... By the end of the Mandalorian movie Ezra will have heard about the Mandalorian and he'll approach him, with the implication that he'll try to get mando to help find Ahsoka and Sabine

The problem with seeing all these characters is that we already know how it pans out in the movies. Luke's attempt to revive the Jedi order fails, Ahsoka dies (somehow), Leia's son turns to the dark side, the empire returns, the republic is portrayed as bunch of bumbling buffoons, and everything they try to accomplish will ultimately be for naught. So what's the point really?
