The Black-and-Gold Lance goes on a 2-day medieval military adventure, reenacting a knight and his retinue during the Hundred Years’ War who have been dispatched to guard a frontier road and hunt the local forests for bandits and poachers that have made their dens in the nearby caves. We marched 4 miles with 7 people in varying levels of armor with a full baggage train in tow, making camp for the night and continuing on the next day.
In this three-part series, take a look at our equipment overview and learn a little about each of the members of the retinue and what they are carrying. In the next video, experience the journey as we move our baggage train down the road to our camp, and the hardships we encounter along the way.
