Such a great school! Our country needs more of this type of school.

Class of 2006. I’m very proud of my 4 years at CofO!

Went here for a semester. President Jerry Davis is a very kind man with a good heart. The work aspect of the school is really great and other colleges could benefit from implementing similar programs. However, I have vastly different and more progressive views than the college. Though the college has good aspects, I really wish they would be more open minded and less fundamentalist / legalistic. I think it would benefit not only the school but the students greatly.

Required classes on appreciating the military... Why does that sound so familiar, in a totally un-American way?

Everyone is bagging on the school based on a selectively edited video, yet the school sits there with a 10% acceptance rate and a 1/2 a billion dollars endowment. The only school with the means to support itself without government money.

I am a teacher and have been for the last 24 years. I do not know anyone in education, high school level and above, who does not believe that his or her world view is correct and does not wish to impart that world view to his or her students. That's what we do. Education may be about learning new ways, but it is inevitably learning about the past and tried and true ways as well. No need to re-invent the wheel. There have been many new ways that have been tried and discarded. Penicillin was a big improvement over mustard plaster for treating viral pneumonia, but thalidomide did not work out well as a treatment for nausea in pregnancy. New is not necessarily better. I am glad that Hitler was not particularly interested in studying the old ways. A study of Napoleon's military strategy might have made a major impact on his efforts in Russia. As for uniforms, I did not pick up on the fact that all students wore uniforms, all though that may well be true. Research showing that uniforms have a positive impact on learning has been convincing enough that many public school systems have introduced uniforms in their schools, an example of something old becoming "new" again. One of the prized characteristics of the culture of the United States has been toleration of diversity, not enforcement of diversity. There is certainly little diversity in a Yeshiva or in a Mormon school or a Muslim Madrasa, but we are not offended. Why then is it so offensive that it is primarily young adults of the Christian faith who attend a school that teaches and supports Christian values?

This individualist social Darwinism way of thinking has created really harmful culture in a school that had the potential to be a wonderful safe haven for many.

Interesting.....good and bad!! The speakers don't even know what patriotism is. That some how, it requires a uniform to be patriotic. And that it must be based upon Christian believes. That was quickly evident when the student leader was asked if there's a lot of political and religious diversity in the school.....and he couldn't even answer. Because there isn't...as that student would have already known opposing view points!! Very scary.....an uneducated brain washing center, on the dictates that patriotism requires Christianity and police or military Uniforms. They speak of our country's ancestors who sacrifice as patriots....and not those of today, who would burn the flag and speak ill of our government. Yet.... It was our ancestors who burned the flags, and spoke I'll of the government....to create the uprising of change. That created the government and country of America. America is created by voicing other divergent opinions and views. And as that young student leader was asked if there are other divergent views of political and religious views....his mind was empty. And he could only repeat, the uneducated views of the schools founder. Education is about learning news ways, and changes for the good of the whole. And his sense of patriotism, is Christianity and uniforms. To beat down, those with differing views....WHICH.... Our founding fathers burned the flags of government, and fought to voice change for the betterment of all... This was such a scary, and demented view...from the schools founder...who only tolerates his own view!! And shuns those of divergent views....
