As soon as I saw “welcome to SF” and then north on the GG bridge and then the two palm trees my mind went to Petaluma and Salt and Tar.... and there they were when you needed some tools. My first home was the light house under the GG bridge north tower. My olde stomping grounds... Been following you and Salt and Tar and others for years. Welcome to Calif. Yes get the pressure washer out turn up the PSI a little bit and then add a detergent to the mix. What I would recommend is Dawn dish detergent it's going to make a lot of suds but it will cut through grease it will cut through grime and it'll cut through scum

Just a note, I noticed your partner has a suspicious mole on the top of the left ear top center, top edge. Resolution not good enough but I had skin cancer in that exact spot. Just at the time marker for 6.22 minutes. And I spent my youth on the water.

This reminds me of 'Odd Life Crafting" when they rescued their neglected boat that sat on the hard for 22 years. It took so much work to bring 'Odd" back to glory. Now Roberta and Duca are happily sailing the coast of Brazil. I wish the same for you and will be watching your progress. Good luck!

Loved the Levan Polka ditty at the start of clearing. With that amount and type of Lichen on the hull ...it tells me that the air is pretty clean at least.

I cried over the power washing, not sure why. I felt so happy for you two; two of the world's gifts to existence. I just missed you guys, I was on a poetry tour and spent a few days in Berkley. Take a look at the hull where the water tanks meet - Parents boat had some near through holes corroded in in Malibu 54 (fresh water one side salt on other 👎)

Odd Life Crafting channel just did a full refit of an aluminum hull boat. Yours is starting in better shape, but lots of great video on replacing systems, etc.

Nothing quite like watching 15 years of grime roll of a boat. Having refit 3 old boats now I can attest that the most enjoyable days are those with a pressure washer. Good start. As an American I would also enjoy hearing your (nonpolitical) perspectives on life here. Things like people, food, weather, prices, etc. would be fun to hear.

Leaving a boat on the hard for 15 years seems crazy - if it was wood it would be a gonner. Hard to see what's lurking beneath things but aluminium is resilient ( unless you stick iron/steel on it ) so good luck.

Can’t believe you ended up on the boat of one of my favourite channels. I had to do a double take when you casually wandered over to Rediviva. And pressure washing a lichen-covered boat; there is nothing more enjoyable. Watching somebody else do it and even paint a boat comes a close second.

This boat is so nice. Amazing to see the transformation just a first cleaning achieves. It would be interesting to know how much weight reduction takes place in emptying he various crud. And water in the holds. I recently got a small sail boat. 250 lb difference once the trash and water was removed. Thorough drying in the sun. I'm sure its light now.

I see that you had a bunch of Davis Rocker Stopers. Hopefully you kept them because my set has been very handy for the past 24 years on my boat. I find them most helpful to get the boat to settle to a current when you anchor in current with opposing wind. As you were walking down the dock to borrow some tools I though "That looks like Mapa Valley Marina" and then you panned around and there was Rediviva!

Yeah Right, first explaining cold and foul weather clothing and then swiftly run off with 10 bags for some real Californication!! Last spring I pressure washed our boat off from similar stuff (10 years worth). However, this year I seem to need to do it all over again. On the up side, it is wonderful how nice such a small amount of work makes things look. That is just before the realization sets in that the rest of the work will be harder :)
