I have this same booth. I've never really had a booth before, so I can't say how it compares to others, but it seems to have no problem keeping the house from smelling like paint. The lights are a huge plus. It really makes painting so much easier because I can see even the slightest shimmer of moisture on the cars now.

I definitely need a booth like that. I do all my airbrush work in my basement. That would be a definite plus! Great video as always Pauly! 💯👍🏼

Identical to my one, but i didnt get a light, i use a pannel light above mine made from an old 22" tv... i like these spraybooths as they have great extraction straight out the box, i have plumbed mine into an external 4" as well to give extra fast removal of fumes

Thanks for your explanations! W/ the virus putting me out work, the money needs to be spent elsewhere, but you showed me what will be involved, and roughly the cost. Now about how much space I'll need and locating it...I guess it needs to be in an area with windows to work? How much space around it does it need to function properly? Forgive my inexperience.

If you can vent the exhaust tot he outside world it would be best. I can't, so I rely on the filter and a mask to do the job and they do admirable work. Foot print is probably like 14" wide by like about 20" front to back....

I am late to the party. I bought one on eBay about two weeks ago. The booth set up just fine. But the exhaust hose has the wrong connector. Part #10 is supposed to have screw holes in it to screw it to the back of the booth. Mine didn't have those holes just some tabs with hooks that go to another type of booth. I want them to send me the correct part. I did not see their website listed on your list. Can you please post their web address?
@JohnPol
@JohnPol 4 года назад
can you buy the lighting for it by itself because I have the booth but no light
@pauly7218
@pauly7218 4 года назад
No, as the booth itself has a permanent power jack inside in the filter frame, so it wouldn't work. Upside is, these are cheap, so you could buy a new one, and either sell off the old one on FB marketplace or keep it as a back up

When you say your old booth died, did you try to fix it? It might have been cheaper to fix the old one, rather than get a new spray booth.

I received mine a few days ago, and have just finished putting it back into the box, to be taken to the basement to the room that could properly be called the hall of shame. It's cheaply made, in my opinion, poorly made out of cheap materials. And it's not $120 now, but $160. What looks like hinges for the side plates are in fact only clips, and past experience has told me that clips are very prone to breaking. When it's assembled, there are no fasteners holding it together, just tabs pushed into slots, to maybe hold it together, until the tabs or slots break. It will now live in the darkness of the box it came in, made even darker by the room it will be in that I only use for things I will never use. Buying this isn't the first mistake I've made, and probably won't be the last.

Rich, clearly you are painting at a higher level, but still, this booth has served me well for a very long time now. In fact, it is an essential tool for me. If you want and can afford better, there are sure to be better ones out there, but for the light paint jobs I do this thing has been a champ. Admittedly Mine has been set up and left in place and I can't attest to how well it would hold up under repeated open and closings. Still, you have it, give it a try - or, Amazon is great at doing returns. IMHO, you should give it a shot, it may surprise you... Thanks for the great point of view...
@richbuege6491

@@pauly7218 No, I am not at a higher level. I am a HO scale modeler, painting smaller freight cars and buildings. I am also someone with many years in quality control, on a much larger scale. My objections are that this was built with failure in mind, as a goal. The small tabs are going to break sooner than later, the plastic used is nearly as thick as saran wrap, and the "hinges" are only breakaway tabs that will fail sooner than later. What I am using now is basically a cardboard box and a shop vac with two hoses, the suction hooked to the box, the exhaust outside. It's the kind with the paper filter over the foam, the paper is cheap to replace, but it's pretty noisy. It's quite apparent that "planned obsolescence" is still alive and breaking things. If it's supposed to break down between uses, fine. Just make it sturdy enough that the third time you take it down, it doesn't break permanently. Over many years I have watched the quality of what is available to the hobbyist decline steadily, and if nobody says anything, it will only continue to slip further.
