You will need to kill it before it attacks. Red has tons of effects that copy a creature. Those tokens are typically sacrificed or exiled at the end of combat or the turn. Not so here. Black can saw him in half. Add in extra combat shenanigans and go to town.

You mention that token copies are more of a blue thing, but you're missing something important here: Red is really good at making temporary token copies. The Master makes those "temporary" copies permanent. Grab a copy of Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink, Splinter Twin, Kiki-Jiki and his saga, Feldon of the Third Path, Hate Mirage, Flameshadow Conjuring, Mimic Vat, Mirror March, etc.

I started brewing a deck the moment I saw this card. A. This card is amazing B. This version of the Master is my favorite Incarnation and will go so well with my Tenth doctor deck

The context for this can be found the special "The End of Time", though the last few episodes of series 3 establish this characters backatory.

mirror box. Makes all your masters 5/4s to protect from lightning bolt PLUS it buffs the original master for each token copy. So the first attack makes him a 7/6, second attack boosts it to 13/12. If you have anything else buffing him he's a two turn KO for commander damage...

I think attacking with The Master himself is a trap. You need to invest so much to have him and/or the copies survive combat. The real strength here is letting you keep the temporary tokens from Kiki Jiki, Flameshow Conjuring and Flamerush Rider effects imo

He's a 4/3 so, not really. So long as a single player isn't capable of blocking or killing him he'll stick around. And there are a lot of other creatures that can make him much more dangerous. Multiple combat phases push him quickly out of control, especially karlach, fury of avernus, since she grants first strike, or port razer who can net you up to 4 combat phases. All you need is a haste enabler, of which red has quite a few.

Double Myriad (Like equipping a Blade of Selves to a creature with innate Myriad) doesn't actually work. Myriad is an attack trigger that creates copies of the creature that are **tapped and attacking**, because the copies enter tapped and attacking, they are technically not declared attackers, so their attack triggers don't happen. Blade of selves is a great card in the deck because it gives Myriad to creatures that have strong stats or non-attack triggered abilities (especially ETBs).

Double Myriad does work... but not the way you are describing: Ex.: Player A controls a creature with two instances of Myriad that attacks player B, you then get two copies attacking player C and two copies attacking player D. The *new* token creatures with myriad are not triggering for the reason you described. See comp rule 702.116b: If a creature has multiple instances of Myriad, each triggers separately.

Remember that you actually lose the card to the legend rule because he only protects his tokens, he doesn't protect himself. So the Legend Rule will still remove your "actual" commander.

If I understand it correctly the legend rule happens and you choose to keep the OG master. This would then mean you have to sacrifice the tokens to the legendary rule and they dictate this doesn’t apply to them conflating the rule and therefore keeping the OG and copies.
