Neo having to accept a cookie before the oracle will interact with him is such a fun piece of program related writing. The oracle (a program) required Neo to enable cookies.

Cypher was a character that didn't get a lot of attention, but he was extremely important. He KNEW that everything was a simulation, yet he still wanted to be put back in, blissful and unaware. He wanted an easy, comfortable, fake life instead of having to deal with a difficult reality. I think many people in our world have this mindset.

While the Matrix may not be an exact equivalent of maya and Keanu Reeve's character Neo may not be a bodhisattava, the Wachowski brothers did deliberately incorporate aspects of Buddhism into their story because they believe that Buddhism has something to say to us about our world and how we conduct our lives. The quote you referenced is addressed in many teachings in Buddhism, regarding the nature of reality.

Most underrated lines in the whole movie: "You think that's air you're breathing now?" - Morpheus can tell Neo doesn't get it "There is no spoon." - the kid can tell Neo doesn't get it "Guns. Lots of guns." - Neo, still not getting it "No." - Neo gets it and deletes Smith Among the best progressions of "show not tell" I can think of. And after all, "no one can be told what the Matrix is, they have to see it for themselves".

@@jamesw4908tastes differ. To me this could have been on par with Star Wars but the 2nd and 3rd movies totally fell flat. I know they are beloved by many but to me there are far too many things that didn't click. I didn't like the pretentious dialogues (or worse: the monologues) and even the (sometimes bad CGI) action didn't do it for me. Also, the romance between Trinity and Neo is so bad I can't even put it into words. I don't want to knock the movies down for people that like them. However, I can't really understand it

@@CrayCruz In one of the making ofs, I heard someone (camera man? fx specialist?) say they got inspiration from "Run, Lola run". I was quite surprised since it is a somewhat odd, maybe experimental German film. If you see it.. yes, indeed, it has some scenes that show similar, but much much more rudimentary shots. Like.. if you had folded a paper plan, enjoyed seeing how it flies.. and then you see a real plane or some majestic bird flying. The concept of the Matrix is based off of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. A few things you might have missed: Morpheus asked Neo “you think that’s air you’re breathing?” Insinuating that he wasn’t, and if he wasn’t there was no need for Cypher to sneeze or cough. It was just to give away their position. The Oracle told Neo that he was waiting “for another life.” He only became the one after dying.”

This film was deep in so many ways: The office manager to Mr. Anderson - "you think the rules don't apply to you." Then later Morpheus tells Neo about the One who bent the rules of the Matrix to his will. "you're my personal savior, my Jesus Christ. You've got to unplug." "Follow the white rabbit" Neo to the dude at the door: "Remember if you get caught..." Young dude: "Yeah, I know you don't exist." His room number is 101, which binary code. So much information is passed on in those couple of minutes, that, at first and second viewings in the theater, went completely over my head. It took several more viewings at home until I got it. Your question: "Why couldn't they just make (in that that simulationroom) bulletproof forcefields or something?". Answer: Morpheus said somewhere in the beginning of the movie, that The Matrix (in which they now are) is build up on a set of rules, some of them can be bend, others can be broken. That is why bulletproof forcefields aren't possible, or at least, not in that way, Neo finds other ways to "bend" those rules.

What I love about The Matrix is how much there is if you dig deeper into the meaning behind it. For instance, my favorite line is from the Oracle, when after Neo knocks over the vase she told him not to worry about, she says, "What's really going to bake your noodle later on is, would you still have broken it if I hadn't said anything?" This does two things. First, it indicates that her prophecies are very much real. Second, it hints at how she likes to operate, subtly twisting the fates of those around her into the optimal position for her desired outcome.

Matrix is a masterpiece simulation of the one purpose you have in your existence as an entity that has the potential to choose a path to make a change to save the ones close to you and preserve the flow of things the way they are but different to make them better - Every Matrix monologue ever.

Found it to be adorable when Agent Smith empties his gun into Neo, and you say "Stop it". 😀

Watching your reactions reminds me of the first time I saw it. I was blown away by their world and it changed the way I looked at mine. It drove me to go read up on the philosophy of the matrix and I was never the same. The red and blue pills are the paths you take away from this movie. So good.

I am new to your channel and I just wanted to let you know that after watching you reacting to the matrix one of my favorite movies of all time I actually literally was in tears seeing your reaction. I just love your authenticity your gentleness your cuteness made me smile and cry at the same time. I am so glad that I found your channel it’s just neat to me to be able to see somebody experience something for the first time that some of us have experienced long ago just to see their first time is really awesome. Makes me remember when I first saw the matrix. can’t wait to see more of your reaction videos 🤗 needless to say after watching this video of you reacting I am a new subscriber I’m hooked! 😀
