Well, Josstice League had a fun tone in a bad way.

I think they were trolling the audiences (this games was promoted as "it has a new ending!") and themselves, They realiced they took the movie way to seriously, and that the fina fight between Neo and Smith WAS anticlimatic.

They never took themselves seriously when they made this game. It was fan service and them just having fun after taking themselves seriously with the movies. Like when football players dance after scoring a touchdown.

I kind of have to disagree with Moore. A book is nothing more than an unformatted screenplay, a comic books is just stills of an action, a movie requires a script, and so does a radio drama. The only thing you can probably say it won't work is a video game, because that requires gameplay, but all the others could easily be adapted without changing much, if anything about them.

@@L1z43vr sure it can "technically" work, but it wouldn't be playing to the strengths of the medium it's being adapted to. I would be hard pressed to think the Lord of the Rings books are just "unformatted screenplays" when the plot structures of these books had to be drastically changed and altered just to be even remotely filmable. In fact some books have been called "unadaptable" because some stories are too long, dense, esoteric and/or prohibitively expensive to turn into a film without some MASSIVE changes to the source material

Honestly the IP is big enough that it might happen with the new movies. Open world game with actual flight and better controlling hand to hand combat/gunplay. I'd pay 60 dollars for that!

This was 2005. What story-based games are you talking about? That is, not counting games where no fighting really took place like Myst and what not. You mean like .. Indigo Prophecy and such? Because I could heavily debate if that was even a "video game" let alone how horribly bad it was.

O'Donnell Andrew Throw a rock in a room full of video games and, as I said, you'll hit one with a messianic archetype about half of the time. If you want me to name names, there's the entirety of the Ultima series, the entirety of the Zelda series, the entirety of the Final Fantasy series. There's like 25+ games pre-2005 right there, and that's just 3 franchises. If you wanna get snippy and demand a literal sacrifice and resurrection, then Chrono Trigger, one of the greatest RPGs ever made, should satisfy. Of course I could go on. But seriously, personal sacrifice and "you are the only one who can do this" is such a staple of storytelling in general and games in particular that I can't interpret what the wachowskis say here as anything but nonsense.
