Fun fact: The entire fight scene between Goblin and Spider-Man in the apartment was unscripted. Willem Dafoe just showed up to the set and spinebustered Tom Holland through 12 stories of concrete. True commitment.

Peter could meet matt murdock and explained everything that happened to him in no way home and Matt would be able to tell he's telling the truth due to his abilities

I actually loved that Andrew showed up in costume while Tobey showed up as Peter. To me Tobey captured Peter best, Andrew captured Spidey best so it really worked for me. Plus the fact that the memes undeniably had a hand in this movie, Bully Maguire is the biggest Tobey meme and that's Parker memes instead of Spidey.

The fact this whole trilogy was MCU Spider-Man's origin story was magnificent.

Willem Dafoe killed it

I think the best black suit story (imo) was its use in spectacular spiderman. It just subtly influenced him and made him more anti social. When he had the suit the sinister 6 formed and made it their mission to kill spiderman. They were so strong it sent him running away multiple times. He finally faces off against them and is completely silent the entire fight. It's then revealed that the suit was piloting him the entire fight while he was asleep.

I would honestly just love a film where it’s just Tobey, Andrew, and Tom just discussing their past adventures for like 2 hours, I genuinely love those scenes that much.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt weird with that Avi Arad credit. Seemed so out of no where.

This movie was like those other Spidey movies where they threw in tons of villains but done right, especially since we know these characters from past movies. It felt like it flew by so quickly when it was 2 and a half hours, I wanted more of it tbh but I had an amazing time.

Surprised when Henry didn't mention throwing the bread at Andrew, since that seemed like the deep it reference of Amy Pascal throwing her sandwich at him after her proposed an idea in how to fix the TASM series, thought it was going in that direction lol Also way to go to Matt, finally channel verified!

I was really impressed with this movie, good to hear you guys geeking out about it, too. Willem Dafoe was a particular standout for me, I really felt like he cared about the role and was going hard for it. There was a lot of little stuff, like when he is fighting Spiderman in the building, as Spiderman is punching him repeatedly, his insane grin gets bigger and bigger with each hit, or how his reaction at the end of the movie isn't "wait, what happened?" it's "what did I do?"

I wish we could have had a follow up on the other Spider-Men’s world to show that their plan works. Just have Norman visit Harry’s grave or have Sandman return to his family.

I think a multiverse Batman event could work if you make it animated instead. Imagine a meeting between DCAU, The Batman, Brave and the Bold and Beware versions of Batman. I think that’s more interesting to me than doing it with the live action versions to me anyway.

For the next Spider-Man movie, I want him to have a crossover with Blade, after the new Blade movie releases. I'm imagining Peter having to deal with the problems of starting college, only for Blade to break into his university on the first day and kill a vampire in Peter's class. So then you have a movie where Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man & Vampire Slaughtering Blade have to work together to fight crime and vampires.

This was by far the best out of the Home films. And I think deserves to be in the Top 3 of best Spider-Man films

My only gripe with the film is that it made the connection between Spider-Man and Venom way more confusing.

I laughed when around 4:15 Matt said he thought the others would be effectively treated like Strikers from Marvel vs. Capcom. Call em in, they jump in and do a move, and jump out.

I want to see Ned lose his damn mind trying to figure out this huge gap in his memory (why was I helping Spiderman, how did I know May Parker, etc) and having been traumatized by the Green Goblin. Would be a great way to lead into him becoming Hobgoblin. Hell, his connection to magic could even tie in to bringing about the Demogoblin

I thought I saw the out-line of Spider-verse Scorpion as one of the dimensional blobs. There is one that clearly had four legs, a tail and a humanoid upper-half.

When you mentioned about Punisher coming from the Spiderman comics, and the idea of these other characters coming it, it made me think about another issue I actually had. Even Blade was in a Spider-man comic working with Spider-Man. It's kind of amazing how many character cross-overs had official Spider-man comic appearances.

The reason this film doesn’t feel like Spider-Man 3 or TASM 2 is because the villains follow the same plot line and are connected in majority of the scenes. It’s not disconnected subplots that connect into the 3rd act. The writers and director certainly understood what was wrong with those previous movies. All while still advancing Tom’s Spidey with his story and character.

Honestly, as great as Willem is, if I was going to pick people who killed it, Andrew Garfield maybe wins. Zendaya and Tom Holland both were absolutely tremendous, too. MJ works as a character so damn well here.

Wouldn't it make sense that SHIELD and Stark Industries do have a close relationship with Spider-Man without knowing his secret identity? If not, do people in the know remember Spider-Man doing everything he did from Civil War onwards wearing the dinky suit he was wearing before meeting Tony Stark?

The thing I want from whatever Spidey trilogy is next? A continuous story from film to film. The problem with the MCU being so interconnected is that these trilogies or quadrilogies for particular heroes don't FEEL like trilogies. The character growth might happen in an Avengers movie and then the next solo film either retreads that character growth or completely ignores it. Homecoming is an essentially useless film in the Holland trilogy, it doesn't feed into anything else, and the character growth in it is retread in FFH and done BETTER in FFH. FFH then feeds into NWH and there's an actual story arc told between the two. SO if they do Symbiote Spidey for the next trilogy I hope that it is done as a full movie with the Symbiote on Peter, the 2nd is his downfall and separation from the symbiote, and the 3rd is him dealing with Venom. Either way a full arc across 3 movies would be nice and refreshing to see when a majority of MCU films aren't even doing that right now. And if he shows up in other MCU stuff, don't have major character beats for him, but have it be like a fun cameo.

I never quite understood the complaints people had for the MCU’s Spider-Man having it too good and not being poor. He’s a 15 year old kid who’s also an Avenger. His struggles and conflicts weren’t suppose to be financial yet, his struggles were living a dangerous double life and how that affected him and his loved ones. Homecoming and Far From Home constantly brought up how his activities as Spider-Man kept him from doing the things Peter wanted, and how it kept putting his loved ones in danger

Why was it Mediocre in the first place? There was nothing wrong about the movie besides maybe having all 3 spideys interact with each other while eating Pizza together.

I went in wanting my Spider-man (McGuire) and then here comes Garfield, who absolutely stole the movie. He was amazing.

I honestly feel like Andrew gets more respect in this movie than disrespect. That "I'm really lame" line is framed as poor self-esteem self talk. And it's immediately followed by "You're not lame. You're AMAZING."

I still love that they managed to do the Spider-Man pointing to themselves meme.

I love how they played up the idea of Tobey being more popular than Andrew. It's undeniable but they still gave Andrew some serious respect. Totally agree with you on Andrew by the way. I've always seen it as Tobey captures the struggle of Peter's dual lives, Tom captures the tenacity and drive to overcome when in over his head that makes Spidey so inspiring but Andrew captures that sarcastic, weaponized sass Spidey uses to throw his enemies off their game. After this movie though, honestly Tobey might be the weakest Spidey actor. That's not at all a knock against him, but Tom equaled what Tobey captured best in this one and Andrew still captures the attitude best to me. Tobey is still a legend but if Tom keeps this up he will leave them both in the dust by the time he's done with the role. Regardless though we got closure on both Tobey and Andrew's characters that really fixes their final movies being...not great. These guys got to bow out on a high note (assuming they don't return) and Tom got to complete his growth into the classic Spidey so many have wanted since he entered the MCU, which is made all the sweeter by the fact we can see him grow into that across his trilogy. Now you can say that the MCU classic Spidey suit was directly inspired by the variants on the classic suit in the Raimi and Webb movies, such a fantastic way to detach from the "Iron Boy Jr" role by having two classic Spideys inspire the new classic suit. This movie was spectacular beginning to end.

I think Andrew Garfield might have been one of my favorite parts of this movie, and it really makes me upset that his movie's weren't any better because he still plays a great Spider-man

If they introduced MJ in TASM2 or 3, they don't have to make her Spider-Man's girlfriend, could have the movie ending with the famous door scene, where Peter wants to shut MJ out and be depressed but MJ stays anyways, being a good friend to him first. I would have liked to see more of Aunt May being Aunt May than just hot aunt, and in this movie it seems they were headed for that. But if Marisa Tomei was done with the role then its fine, just a shame. Overall I really enjoyed the movie. It would have been nice if they had Tom Hardy Venom meet Tom Holland Spider-Man or added Topher Grace Venom meeting Tom Hardy Venom just for fun.

I hope this results in another Andrew Garfield Spidey film. It was pretty obvious how stoked he was to play the character again, and I thought he was the best part of the film, even as a Tobey fan.

So a fun fact is that venom was originally planned to be in the final fight at the statue of liberty and Tibet Maguires spiderman was supposed to die then the symbionts would revive him and then when it goes back to venom that’s how venom was going to get the iconic white spider on his chest. But it was cut which is unfortunate but I understand

I managed to see this movie 2 weeks after it came out without spoilers so I was shocked that the other spidermen showed up for more than 5 minutes.

One thing I’m not a fan of is Tom Hardy’s Venom not having any reason to be part of the film in any way beyond some poor attempt to set up MCU Venom.

Something that occurred to me when they said everyone forgetting made more sense than time travel: I think it makes less sense and creates way more problems. At least time travel was something the Avengers had to work to invent and at the end there's a clear sense that it needs to be avoided to prevent multiverse shenanigans. But here, the memory spell is apparently fairly run-of-the mill and not only changes people's memories but seems to rewrite reality. Also, if the spell is universal, that's OP and begs the question why they didn't just cast a spell so that everyone forgot what the infinity stones were to stop Thanos. And if the spell is only planetary, that means Nick Fury's eventually going to return to Earth and be baffled by the fact that no one's heard of Peter Parker.

Last hour was alright. The first hour had a lot of sloppy narrative issues that you just have to hand wave . Lizard is just kinda there to be there, sand man turning comes out of nowhere etc etc. Not a prefect movie, but a fun one
