Just called up this song to show my kids. I've never seen this particular video before. VERY cool to see my man Angelo from Fishbone make an appearance at the one minute mark.
These "throwbacks" ARE MOST RELEVANT NOW... TODAY..B-TONES. . DECADES... ABED OF THEIR TIME.. STILL DOIN IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.. TO THIS F'N DAY!!!@##
The Wailers first reggae hit in the 60's, this is one of the first reggae songs I heard as a young teenager along with Desmond Dekker's "Israelites". Got me addicted reggae......
Simmer down, my head is too hot so Simmer down, he's gonna get dropped so Simmer down, man, here's what I say Simmer down, now I've got to got to simmer down A long time ago we used to be friends Picked my bones in my pockets that's where it ends so Simmer down, control my temper Simmer down, the battle will be hotter Simmer down, o.k. here's what I say Simmer down, oh, I'm leaving in a day Simmer down, here's what I say Simmer down, oh, I'm leaving in a day Simmer down, o.k. here's what I'm saying Simmer down, it's got to be this way Where's the love, where is the loyalty? We did our part now where is the love? Simmer down, control my temper Simmer down, the battle will be hotter Simmer down, it's hard cause it hurts so Simmer down, kick me off Simmer down, but the pain still exists Simmer down, and hey I'm sure he'll be missed Simmer down, it'll make us stronger Simmer down, and we'll live a lot longer so Simmer down, what goes around Simmer down, will come around Simmer down, I know I've got to simmer down Simmer down, I'm trying to simmer down Simmer down, I've got to got to simmer down oh Simmer Down, it's hard cause it hurts Simmer Down
@@CinematicMaj Chill out, yo. I know plenty of people appreciate them. My statement was addressing the fact that there are a lot of people who are too shallow to appreciate their music. I was complementing them, you know. A little Aspergers syndrome, perhaps?
2002. Topeka Kansas. Went to visit my older brother there and found this song on his computer. Immediately burned it and a bunch of other 90’s songs to CD and wore that darn thing out for the rest of the trip out there :D. Good times.
This band just makes me happy-- it wouldn't matter if they sucked (which they don't) it would still make me smile to hear a saxophone solo over a heavily distorted punk rock guitar. :)
Some useless info: the reason Angelo and Norwood from Fishbone appear in this video is 'cuz the 'bone and the 'tones were on the road together at the time. Now that would've been a HELL of a concert! EDIT: After reading all of these comments, I've got one word: JEALOUS!
I actually saw in '98 blink 182 (which i never really liked) open for the bosstones headlined by less than jake! Now that was a badass concert. Less than jake I've always felt was underrated.
Middleburg, Florida? It's a hick rural town in Northeast Florida...30 min south of Jacksonville and about 45 -. 50 min south of the Fl/Ga line. Real hub of culture there bubba.
Same bro, now i don't flip like used to but still love kickin' the streets, back from the 90's till i stop breathing, tons of good fuckin bands on my walkman yeaaaaaaahhhhh👊
I knew Dickie Barrett When he was about 10 Years old terrorizing the lifeguards At the Fr. McAlears swimming pool , Dick was best friends with my Best friends little brother, they were good kids 👍

I loved music in the 90's bands with actual talent getting noticed and getting signed. Now bands with no talent are getting money when they dont even diserve it, the reason why they sign those bands is becuase its part of the time they will drop them when they arnt hip anymore it shows if ur talented people wont care Long live ska
Reggae is my music... I like this song from the time of hearing The Wailers original version. I'm totally appreciative of American bands bringing about something of a "reggae revival". One little criticism... I find the drums on this version a little too "rock-n-rollish" sounding.
+Dale Maher Woodlock NO WAY dude!!! Are you serious? Holy shit bro, thanks so much for your insight, I would've gone on for the next 23 years not giving credit where credit was due!!
+xXlibertadXx don't worry bro is not about givers or takers(recognition)art is art, themselves would've liked that you dance and enjoy whith it, so the skatalites, did it bob marley, so many others, but the thing is to enjoy it man, so keep it real, good tip but just to know a little bit more about musical history, not for something to be sorry for,.👊
