My condolences on your mom’s passing. I’m 62 and have been a Moody Blues fan almost from the start, I named my son after Justin. My son is 19 and an amazing guitarist, the odds of this happening amazes me. To say the Moodys have effected my life is an understatement. Btw , my son is a fan as well , took him to see Justin Hayward a couple of years ago, he loved it . ✌🏼❤️

@JustMe Regardless of the relationship with Mr Moraz, he is a talented keyboardist and has appeared also with Yes on their Relayer album which is one of their best. He also has done other work with members of Yes. Personally I found how the Moodies treated him a bit harsh but then again no one but them and Mr Moraz knows what really went down.

@JustMe Nobody can replace Mike Pinder. He was the soul of The Moody Blues. Mikes work on the mellotran just gives the Moodies an out of this world feel to their music that no other group can achieve. The Moodies first 7 albums is all I need!

Mike Pinder's work on the mellotran really added that ethereal, spritual, feel to the Moody Blues. No other group can take you out of this world with their music like the Moodies can! The music and lyrics from their first 7 albums, are more meaningful now then back in the 60's/70's. The world is falling apart at the seams! GD help us all!

While one certainly can’t take anything away from the work Mike Pinder did, I personally much prefer Moraz. Much heavier and more driving, AND he more than did Pinder’s work justice. While I don’t know the details of what went on between he and the rest of the band, it really seems like they shafted him. Perhaps Pinder would have changed his style, but to me it’s Moraz’s keyboard leads that really brought the group into the 80’s - I don’t believe they would have achieved nearly the success they did in that decade without him.
