Unironically, considering the singularity can destroy and replace a disabled biopod the printers need to revert back to their old timer, or maybe even just nerf the manual printing boost from times 4 to times 2

6:50 Yep. It's for this reason that I feel when you get slipstreamed, you shouldn't be able to emp for a second or two. It would also stop shit like 4:45 from happening because it happens ALL THE TIME! Survivors are in complete control of your power in situations like that and it's boring as shit. And you can't even say "Oh well I'm wasting the emp!" Cuz they come back in literally like 5 seconds.

I honestly feel like EMPs should have a similar set up as Freddy's Dream World. Where each time an EMP Box is opened the next opening should be 5-10 seconds longer. So as the match goes on EMPs become more scarce with bad play. Would emphasize smart use instead of spamming them every chance you can like currently.

this plus they should have to choose between cleansing people or cleansing the pods. If you or somebody near you is infected it should EMP the infection but not the pods.

@@honkbrother8000 I never said they couldn't get rid of the pods. Just that the cost of being infected would be that you have to get rid of your infection first. Which would make you have to choose and waste more EMPS getting rid of the pods. It would reward the killer for hitting their power instead of it just being an "I win and your entire last 10-15 seconds of trying to hit me with a pod did nothing but give me distance and cause your pods in the area to be disabled" and also punishes survivors for being TOO good of teammates and just running in to emp while their friend is chased and infected and you can't do anything about it. Because now you still have pods to try and infect one of them without having to delete/shoot another one and make it super telegraphed. The time efficiency of EMPS is WAY too high.

What I'm at least happy with is that they've made a killer that at the very most needs number tweaks. His power is fun to play with (when you don't get stomped) and is fun and fair to play against for the most part. They haven't made a killer that is baseline poorly designed so once they finally get around to a few tweaks he's gonna be pretty solid for everyone.

It seems like they made a lot of changes to this killer to prevent tunneling and camping and then forgot to reduce EMP effectiveness to balance out being forced to do 12 hooks round robin

Hey Scott, idk if someone else commented on it. But the reason you are slowed when you come out of using the biopods near a hook is because the killers body becomes undetectable. Which means otherwise you can camp the hook with a “basekit insidious”.

My proposed change to the emp is make it so that once an emp is used there is a cooldown following that survivor in an invisible radius that prevents them from using and emp and would also stop teammates from abusing them to help other survivors but also allow for survivors across the map to still use them and stop you from teleporting far away

Have u guys noticed that gen speeds are considerably faster then they’ve ever been? Even when I’m putting a lot of pressure on a team 4 or 5 gens still pop even with slowdown ( exactly like Scott’s match). I remember I played against a pinhead and we had a dc at 5 gens and still had 4 gens pop before he killed 2 of us, and he wasn’t a bad killer too and got downs fairly quickly

No good gen defense anymore + abundance of gen perks for survivors, as well as survivors starting to understand that gen efficiency trumps everything else which leads to incredibly quick matches nowadays

I did the adept trophy earlier today and I think it must be one of the most difficult adepts in the game currently. I have done all the other killer adepts at least once and most of them twice and I think this one was one of the hardest. I had to use every trick in the book to get the 4k

Yeah the odds are stacked against you for sure. It's an already difficult killer especially without a build that helps you passively slow down the game. I think his perks have some decent effects but like many adepts the perks would be at their best in dedicated builds. Funnily though I got insane value out of the gen kick one when I did adept as it helped me get the first kill early with the undetectable and the purple add on that gives you aura on a survivor when you hit them with a pod

For anyone still trying to do adept and you read this thread my best advice is use a map offering for a map you know well, use some of his best add ons to give you an edge (I chose two purples, one that starts everyone slipstreamed and another that gives you aura reading when you hit a survivor with a biopod) and try play as fast and aggressive as possible really. Try and turn it into a 3v1 as early as possible as that will limit the plays the survivors can make and don't be afraid to leave survivors on the ground if you need to at times, especially if you've already worked out they don't have unbreakable

For anyone interested a fun build and tip: Perks: Stbfl, bbq, lethal, and last perk can be anything, I swap between agitation to put a survivor in a trail of pods or bam to make his chase better. Add ons: Forigeign Plant Fibers so you can always make slipstreaming to break a downed pallet the best option, think like a built in dissolution. Denied Requisition Form so you can combine it with lethal and guarantee a first chase with no emps. This will also lead to a strong early game with bbq giving you the info you need to keep chases going. Tips: Zone zone zone, do not try to set up pods to hopefully get someone going that way. Chase until they get to a loop and zone them to the area you want them to go, either a deadzone or weaker side of the map. When you set up a pod to infect them they will either run to the area you zoned them too, or run towards you. If they run to the zoned area then cool you get an easier chase. If they run towards you then you get a free hit and are able to pull up faster with stbfl and get a slipstream on them before they can cut los. A really important part, if they have an emp, infect, and then take away your pod you just placed down. Once they emp just replace the pod as you chase, if you stop or give them wiggle room they will hold w to another loop, so practice putting pods down as you chase. Nerf? I think emps never needed a direct nerf numbers wise but a change in how they are used. Emps are made to stop 3 gening and avoid the huge mistake bhvr did with the last 2 chapters. They are not supposed to stop a killer's power mid chase. So how to fix this? Make emps only usable while standing still like a medkit, and make it so a survivor has a longer animation picking up the emp from the case to make it not worth going for mid chase. Then someone in chase has to either give up a lot of distance to use it or have a teammate try and help but it would also be difficult since they have to stand still and be close enough to pull it off. This also stops them from body blocking and using the emp at the same time. Its one or the other, or have the whole team help, but at that point they're not doing gens. Also a nerf to that 3% speed perk should be a thing cause longer chases for killers overall mean free gen progression for survivors. If every single survivors runs it, you either need to sweat your ass off or pray they're new at the game.

I played last night and I think I fell into that trap bc I had a horrible time playing him last night. Couldn't pod ppl, gens went so fast, emps was happening left and right. All my matches except one was 3 to 4 escapes. The one game that wasn't was a 4k while I was trying for the adept achievement. Even in that match I didn't play all that well, it was mostly survivors fucking up and giving me things for free. At the end of the night I felt so frustrated at myself and the game that I just left in the middle of a match and log off for the night.

Oh man do I feel you, I genuinely was excited to play this killer, but now it's another one of those at which I stare emotionless in the killer menu. Can't play a killer that's fun but weak without having real high blood pressure.

I don’t know why, but Singularity just clicked for me. I realized right away that he is not a patrol killer, but a chase killer. I’ve had a lot of fun playing him and my goal is to become and expert on him

Ive found eruption is solid on him cause the aura read after down lets you spread pods or remove emps as youre hooking someone and as for the emp either make them have to open the printers to get them as with nemmy and wesker, slow down printing per emp held, or prevent the printer the emp was taken from, from printing while their emp is held

Just played my first game as him against a SWF who constantly EMPd me lol, my camera placement and management was pretty bad tho. Got one kill then i shot a cam at exit gate and watched as meg disabled it and teabagged me lol.

The way I use Hux is kind of a combination. I like to shoot one or two pods really high up for good views. And the rest for tagging survivors in chases. The surveillance pods are excellent for providing direction. I've found this to be pretty effective online, but I feel like EMPs are too abundant. Perhaps this is meant to balance how quickly Hux can transition and control a pod.

One kinda niche, but underrated fact of Singularity is that when he’s coming out of the ground with his power, he doesn’t have collision, so I use it all the time to get rid of body blocks. I use it all the time in doorways to stop the body blocks and it’s very useful

This killer’s power is not strong enough to deserve such an insanely strong counter to his power. EMPs should exist just so to add some interaction with the killer which is always fun, but why do they need to open automatically and be able to be used while moving and also now no longer forces you to put down your item? I shouldn’t be able to pick up and use 3 EMPs in 1 chase

@@Tufticles Maybe it’s too early to say, but to me it feels like why do the chests automatically open and have infinite supply while Nemesis and Wesker have boxes you need open and stand still to counter their power and they have way better powers than Singularity, obviously they’re nowhere close to similar, but it feels confusing as to why it’s counter are so strong. Hell even turning off Skull Merchant’s power making you trackable and gives her a speed boost, why is there zero downsides to EMP?

I was playing with two other of my friends and every time we faced singularity pretty much we just shut them down the emps are still strong because we basically made him an m1 killer most of the time there were two or three chases for each of us that maybe he was able to use his power for a bit 😂

I think they could do something like how SM always has (number of drones) + (number of claw traps) = 4, so like (number of EMPs held) + (number of printers printing/holding EMP) = 4 or even 5 honestly, just something to slow down production

TBH, its power's at its best when you get the cameras higher - they have plenty of range, and you can get some funny ones that are hard but not impossible to hit with the EMP bubble. One above a TL structure will also often net a lot more value than one sitting near a gen, because it's harder to charge an EMP in chase through windows, and people won't prioritize it once they leave the loop - what I'm saying is, get a hit, get a biomass attached with 'trapped' pre-planned chase zones, then just spam the Overclock.

Its not like SWFs stomp almost every killer anyways..Hes somewhat map dependant, but what I like about him, beside the fun mechanics, is that he allows a nice variety of different builds and playstyles. The only thing that is off now, is the gen rushing meta and the mostly nerfed anti gen perks (+ some unbalanced maps) imo.

I don't know if anyone has or does do this but how effective would it be to have basic trap points for chases later on in the game like let's say rpd the window outside by the stairs setting a pod under that window to tp to them in chase if they vault that window then instead of being tp'd just at the window if you shot them hopefully you'd tp like falling with them maybe?

I think being able to see where your camera will look at will help with the disorientation I get from using them because I often try to goop someone I'm chasing and then suddenly when I look at the camera I'm just facing some random direction and completely lose them. I still feel EMPs should only start printing after someone has actively pressed the machine to start it. I mean, nemesis and wesker don't have their vaccines just constantly generating and be free to grab. Why's this guy with who has no power against someone without infection being bullied so hard?

What do you think about If you are "infected" and use an Emp it removes the "infection", but doesnt turn your cams of, but if you arent "infected" and you use Emp you turn the near cams of.

Yeah I’ve learned the hard way yesterday with the singularity overusing your power will definitely make you lose the game. Couldn’t get a single kill plus my mmr is high enough apparently that I keep getting actually good teams every game.

If they make some version of Denied Requisition Form basekit, it'd go a long way to alleviating frustrations. With DRF, the first EMP takes longer to come out meaning the SECOND EMP from each box takes longer to get out cuz you have to get the first one out, etc etc. This heavily taxes the EMP economy. On top of that, SAVING the first EMP is risky since there's a Biopod attached to you. I really don't have ANY problems keeping my power online with that addon. Something also interesting is that slugging survs with Biopods attached can still allow the Slipstream to spread to people trying to get them up, ala Sadako's Condemnation. Free Slipstreaming taxes the EMP economy even more.

I think that 1 the range needs to be reduced a lot. its insane how you can emp multiple spread out cams and cleanse your teammates at the same time. and 2 there needs to be a minimum time that a cam/slipstream stays up before its empable (ie 30 seconds or so) and make a visual indicator for survivors give it a green outline or something until your able to emp it. And as a last bonus I think it would be nice if there was a loud noise notification where an emp is used. It does make a pretty loud pop noise after all so it would make sense and still be quite fair.

think of your slipsteam pods on their backs like a ball and chain they are dragging behind them. if you teleport to them while they are vaulting, you will be on the wrong side when you appear, so wait a second if you want to skip the vaulting animation.

I don't know why it slows you down for using it near a hook. I think the slower lock on speed is enough on its own. Not like it really stops you from camping if you just sit directly in front of the hook.

The best way I found using him is bringing corrupt and have time to set up and play the hit and run play style with applying sloppy then leaving. He is really strong in the 1v1 and makes a lot of loops unsafe if he can put down his pod.

@@ethanpeeples6187 how are you setting up an area while chasing a survivor. the original comment talked about staying on the gens to setup while corrupt was active. how are you chasing a survivor and setting up in a location at the same time? and to be honest i just dont find it worthwhile to set up at a specific location while using this killer. i just shoot while loooking for survivors.

It's a very minor thing, but isn't it kind of useful to be able to quickly check whether survivors are working on a certain generator, even if you assume a particular pod will always be EMP'd? You could even replace it every time you go past chasing someone. I think it's honestly hard to judge the balance of the EMPs - it seems like if he's very good at infecting survivors (and some people have gotten VERY good) then there's just little survivors can do to counter you, especially if the killer is alert to cameras that need to be replaced. Plus, anytime teammates are coming to use their 2nd EMP, they run into the danger of how people step on each other's toes trying to use the same loop - even against a plain M1 killer. The biggest anti-power play they have is still worthless if they still get M1'd due to their confidence.

This! I don't get the complaints because the alternative is letting his power run absolutely rampant. It's stupid easy and fast for him to use it. In my matches he just instantly replaces them and it's like 'what did the emp even really do?' It's often not worth going out of your way to get one and if you manually open it, it takes forever. I wouldn't personally be opposed to it taking longer to charge the more you use them so that we actually have to make better decisions on when to use them, but making it harder to get them isn't going to fix anything. Killers will rejoice.. until nobody wants to vs him anymore because it'll be too tedious if these people were to get their way.

@@keys5595 Because the alternative is what everyone in these comments is suggesting, that they should be like every other item (single chest search and single use, or in weskers case double use). And we ALL know by this point that BHVR is just about incapable of making balanced changes. If they go to nerf EMP because everyone is complaining about the new killer they've barely had access to (instead of realizing it isn't the killer, it's you), they're most likely going to hit it harder than it needed to be to overcompensate. So when I say it is the alternative, I'm also implying what we all know about BHVRs idea of balance.. it's either one extreme or the other with them.

One really annoying bug that's also currently making Singularity a bit weaker is fairly often when exiting the camera your speed starts from 0 and slooooooooooowly goes back up to normal speed instead of having a minor movement debuff that goes away quickly. That has cost me gens and it happens so often

I had a killer play singularity like hag. Unfortunately the map was RPD, and he just went around trapping gens and would abandon chase as soon as someone made it to a pallet. Match lasted 18ish minutes but it was a 4 man out

The only thing I want to disagree with is corrupt. If survivors see gens blocked I think it leads them to just grind out the 30 seconds for an EMP while waiting or the gen they want to be unblocked

I have been trying out the singularity and he's really fun to play and has a high skill floor which rewards time investment into him and his skill ceiling is also very high which is a nice change of pace from the last two killers. However EMP's are still a little ridiculous, One match that stands out to me was this match on Midwich which I swear every time I turned around 3 of the four survivors had EMP's ready go at all times, so my power was greatly hampered and it was annoying to play against, I think the EMP crates should not open automatically and instead will charge up to a certain point and then the survivors need to finish off the progress themselves, so if they need an EMP they can get it but they can't chain three EMP's in one chase without setting that up first.

8:37 you can think the knight and the perk 'make your choice' for this one. The killer has no terror radius while it controls camera's and is likely not treated as being where the body is like knight when he uses his power. Bonus being you can see the save happen.

I always thought it was weird that the survivors can speed up the process of making the EMPs, but the Singularity can't speed up the recovery of the camera he's currently using if it's disabled. Obviously he can break it and put it back on but if he's not there then what? I've had so many moments where a camera nearby a gen that was almost complete was disabled and I just had to accept it.

Honestly they should either make it so you can't use an EMP in chase and you need to have a teammate do it for you, or if you charge the EMP you move very slowly so it'll make you take a hit if you try to do it at an unsafe time. no limiting of chests or recharge time will make chasing someone with an EMP not a waste of time as is. Imagine if you could vaccine against nemesis mid sprint. There's currently no killer in the game who's power is made completely unusable if you see a survivor holding an item, maybe you could say trapper if the survivor has a map, but they have to bring the map in the game or find one, and even if they do, franklins exist. Meanwhile this killer just generates an unlimited supply of free power disablers. Really hope they change the emps

I like his concept but i was hoping his "FNAF playstyle" would be encouraged a lot more, so here are 2 changes i beleive would adress a lot of the issues that prevents HUX from using his cams way more : -Each cam should have an individual shot cooldown, not one shared across all cams, you could reduce the absurdity of it by increasing the cd by a few seconds, but there should be a reason to swap to a nearby cam once your first one slipstreammed a survivor. -Each time an EMP is taken from a box, that box should take 15 more seconds to print a new EMP, up to 3x aka 45 more seconds, that way actually holding onto the EMP and getting the most value possible will be important, and just wasting an emp to get yourself cleansed/getting one cam shut down will be punished.

They should of made every box scaled up at different times so it still takes a while to open it is worth it to speed up boxes especially at the beginning of the match but you should only be able to hold one at a time unless you speed it up but it should be scaled up from the first box opened so it’s like 90 then it should be 30 seconds of speed up time each time I think it should buy as much time as pig traps but be worth it in slowdown scaled up so basically only one person can have it unless they take time away from gens to speed it up that way sure they take your power away but you get that time in slowdown

Blast Mine was at its best when they first added it and everyone was using it and the Flashbangs. For me as Killer, not as survivor. Specifically while running Lightborn so I can see the auras of the little shits hiding behind a tree 10 feet away giggling at me getting "blinded" so that I could make it look like I accidently found them for my free hits. God, so many free hits... I loved it lmao

Ideas that any one of which would make him less miserable to play (be it as an add-on or base kit). 1: EMPs are printed in 60 seconds. Survivors cannot speed up the printers. Printers only start printing once a survivor with no EMP interacts with it. 2: A printer only starts making a new EMP once the EMP it made is used or dropped. 3: shooting a survivor twice in 15 seconds makes them slipstreamed. 4: every 30 seconds, if there's an active biopod with line of sight on a survivor, the survivor is slipstreamed. If there is no such biopod, the next biopod with los will apply slipstream. The first one should make it much slower overall for survivors to get EMPs. While it takes up less of their time to get an EMP right next to a gen (until the gen is done), any printer not right next to a gen will take more time as the survivors have to go start it, leave, and come back to pick it up. It also means survivors can't use an EMP on the person being chased, leave, then come back 30 seconds later with another EMP for the entire trial. The second one again targets survivors using EMPs on the person who's in chase, by making it so you don't need to apply slipstream at least once every 10 seconds in order to have a power that doesn't lose you distance. The third change 1: gives you a way of applying slipstream without needing to take the time to switch to a camera and hope the survivor didn't have anything to block los meaning you completely wasted your time and distance 2: means you don't have to instantly lose chase applying slipstream at least twice to the same person when they're carrying an EMP. It also means that if you try to shoot through the shack door in order to slipstream them as/after they leave it, but they also go through the door, you didn't waste your shot hitting them The fourth one gives survivors a reason to not always EMP a biopod on a gen since if they take the slipstream, the person in chase doesn't have to worry about getting slipstreamed with getting distance from it.

In short, either there should be less EMPs, or it should be easier to apply slipstream. Heck, maybe EMPs should only hit biopods if it doesn't remove slipstream. He's fun to play against, but I can get no enjoyment out of playing him because if I try to do the fun thing of using the power of the killer I chose, I'll get my 3rd hook just after the last gen pops and maybe I'll be able to get 4 more hook states because it'll take a bit for them to get enough EMPs. If I don't use his power, I'll get my 3rd hook just after the last gen pops, and maybe I'll get 3 more hook states because trying to use his power lowered my MMR enough to get survivors who make mistakes in end game. He's like trapper, except instead of taking a couple seconds to put down a trap that blocks resources or ends a chase and then being done with it, you take almost no time to put down a trap that does nothing unless you take a few seconds t- oh, never mind, they just disabled it instantly. Well you can just put down anothe- oh wait, that wasn't a good spot to put one. Well you can just put down ano- well they've already disabled it. Well you can just put down another one, and success! You finally got your power to work, and with it you have the great ability to break the pallets they prethrew faster, and maybe get a hit. I mean once the trapper's power works, the survivor is already dead if they were in chase or instantly lose a health state if they weren't, but hey he doesn't get to shred palle- oh they disabled your power again. Well at least the match is over, would you like to play hux again?

I'm not saying that overclock is too weak, I'm saying that right now it's too hard to apply. Overclock would be very overwhelming if survivors couldn't counter it, but right now it's so easy for survivors to counter it that overclock may as well not exist. It could instantly down a survivor no matter what and he would barely get any stronger while being more annoying to play against

CoconutRTS made a video on a slugging build for the Singularity that may be worth checking out It does come up short because EMPs but hopefully you can waste enough of their time that gens are stagnating and people are bleeding out because they constantly need to be looking for downed people (knock out) and getting EMPs or else the killer will be back breathing down their necks after they pick somebody up. I also feel like Coconut's build and playstyle in the video could be much further optimized. (assuming you want to run a slug build in the first place instead of having fun)

​@@ScottJund in my opinion, how effective a build/playstyle is not equivalent to how good the killer is (which I think you'd agree) Taking the inverse would be like saying nurse is bad because you use white nit comb + the old brown bookmark with distressing or blight is bad because you run placebos with distressing. (bad killer with good build vs. good killer with bad build) and if you can't take the inverse of the statement without it being true as well, then that means the original statement is not biconditional. anyways if you agree, i guess you can take this as ammo for if you want to make an argument in the future I was just saying that in terms of purely being effective, the slugging build could be akin to sadako's condemnation

His power is relatively strong and fun to use, but EMPs literally destroy this killer right now. ALL the matches I've played as and against The Singularity were 2K at best, even when they effectively camp or tunnel.

If he's teleport grant you lethal then the current state of EMPs would be justified. However, for the fact that it takes multiples steps (that you have to repeat multiple times) for a down is a huge time wasted. Step 1: Place Bipod Step 2: Struggle to infect due line of sight, placement is too finicky or map is terrible Step 3: Finally get the infection Step 4: Repeat previous steps because you got EMP'd That's a summary of a Singularity match.

I think it's over selling it to say EMPs are only crazy strong vs good teams. They're not hard to use to either help each other or for yourself. They're constantly available and have a massive area of effect. Personally I think it should make you drop your item, you should only have 3 of them and they should take longer to spawn. For how strong they are, they need to be less available and less of a "why wouldn't you carry an emp?" type item

By the way the singularities map is one of the best if not the best rat map now near that god window at main building next to it is a spot with tons of bushes and a cubby hole that can fit two survivors. Edit there are multiple of these spots on the map trust me i know I used a lot of them

Making the emps be stackable with other items is the true loss here. If ppl have to choose between their busted bedkit or the emp i think it'd reduce the amount of ppl who were strapped all game, just like old nemesis/wesker before the change to the item hokding system. Ppl nearly never carried vaccines/sprays, but now its literally so free so why wouldnt they?

Emps even after the “nerf” are still strong. Like dude every chase I swear someone has an emp. It’s like there’s a limitless supply of them. They need another nerf dude the devs don’t seem to get that without his power singularity is actually garbage. One change that could honestly make emps a little less overpowered is by making the opening of the boxes even longer with each use. So there’s some sort of penalty for just constantly picking them up. Similar to like a skull merchant or pinhead’s box. So as the game gets towards mid to late game emps become more and more harder to get and you need to be smart using them rather than just picking up every chance you get because you know there’s always gonna be one no matter what

I’d be fine if they heavily toned down emps if they made his power not hitscan. It’s legit impossible to avoid which makes the only counter play having emps on you at all times. if they made a form of counter play that didn’t rely on emps then it’s fine to have them toned down a significant amount.

For the biopod I think it happens when you check them near a hooked person, so is kinda an anticamp feature. And for the teleport it would be very OP without the slowdown, he would catch up 100% and wouldn't leave space for counterplay

EMPs just need to not last as long. Probably shave off a good 5 seconds on them. Also don't make them auto generate an EMP from the box. That way you can't just run to a random area and see an open box waiting for you. This killer will be fine with these changes.

I feel like EMPs should require more thinking when trying to use them. Instead of this big "no killer ability circle" why not make it so they can only delete one thing at a time so the survivor has to chose if he wants to get rid of a camera or his pod or the pod of a teammate.
