No it's not best arcade because Mortal Kombat Trilogy isn't on it, or has the amazing dragon symbol artwork. The game has every character and hidden ones too.. game never gets the credit it deserves!!!
The best thing about playing mortal kombat in the arcades during the 90s was the feeling of when you had somebody challenge you and a whole crowd of people standing around watching the fight then beating them and ending it with a fatality was so satisfying haha
Yesss! When MK2 came out, everyone was stunned and mystified simultaneously. The blood and sheer in your face violence took it to another level. Mk3 just put the icing on the cake with the run button. Im getting this UPDATE: 11/3/2021 I picked up a used but, well taken care of arcade 1up for a decent price on OfferUp. Life is excellent !!
I restored a KI and threw MAME in it. These new monitors suck for old games imo, Playing on original CRT makes these games look better and smooths out all the jags.
Funky Lobster Don’t worry. That’s what ALL of us want one for. I don’t feel guilty so much for the one I’m gonna buy, but rather for the five others that I’m gonna buy after that. I know it’s gonna happen, and I feel terrible about the huge waste of money.

That's a good tip...when you buy one of these, flip over the control panel (joystick/button panel) and make sure all the connectors are plugged in well. Also before you put the whole thing together, turn on the LCD screen and the game and make sure it works and looks good and make sure the joystick/buttons work.
@@chapasproject Or you could just stay at home, look it up online, and figure it out, yourself...soldering or not. Depends on if people have the money to throw at it or not. If it were a real arcade cabinet, it would come with an operator's manual w/ exploded views of all the assembly and so-on. This goes the same for many consumer products that you pay good money for. They want you to buy their replacement parts, which are made to break, to keep the more expensive parts from getting harmed.
Looks great! The first time I saw MKII was at our local skating rink. Giant crowd of everyone on skates gathered around the cabinet - I have a vivid memory of the first thing I saw when I rounded the corner to get a view of it.....Kitana falling to the bottom of the pit. Man, what a time.
Damn I remember when I used to be a kid and we used to go to the bowling alley and playing the arcades Mortal Kombat Streetfighter killer instinct we used to save lotta of quarters to pay all these great Games
MK2 arcade was such a revelation, back when it was first released. But the stereo sound was an important part of the game, especially in two player games.
i got the mk arcade cab today. this is a dream come true. mk is my fav fighting series all time and i have wanted a mk arcade cab for many years. this is a must own
I have an original MK2 arcade machine. It was probably the one arcade machine I pumped the most about of money into back in the 90's arcades. I figured it's only fitting to own the damn thing for real. :)
Some people just played Mortal Kombat growing up...I lived it. I mean staying in arcades all night long because we knew the owners lived it, winning tournaments lived it, beating people with 1 hand only lived it. MK2 and UMK3 are my favorite fighting games of all time. My cabinet will be here Wednesday and I can't wait to see if some of the "tricks" you can do still work in this version. Like beat Shao Kahn in MK II easily without being touched.... We shall find out soon
Gotta say, you convinced me to go today and get the Final Fight version. LOVE IT!! Now I’m planning on getting another one soon! I’ve been holding out until now. Keep Up the great show.
I bought three of these cabinets on the same day last year. In three days, every one of them went back to their point of purchase for various reasons. This video speaks for itself. "Sub-Zero won't throw his ice-ball, but then I realized that the 'down' direction wasn't working at all. Luckily, I remembered that this was a recurring problem and knew that sometimes you have to rewire the controls myself." If you need to do maintenance on a machine immediately after you buy it, you're not dealing with a quality product. Every game that 1up features in their cabinets is available in a cheaper, better way, unless you're addicted to old school controls which, as stated before, don't always work.
@10:45 Yup so true! We had a place where I lived called FunLand that I really wish was still around. I feel for the kids of this generation that missed out on that experience
Of all the current cabinets so far, this is the best of them by far. I cannot wait for the X-men and Simpsons cabinet arcade ones. Maybe they'll also include streeter fighter alpha cabinets as well as marvel vs street fighter and marvel vs capcom 1 & 2.
"when it smelled like pizza and everything was gross and sticky", that's gold! I remember fawning over the marketing material in Gamepro for the MK Genesis port. I swear I looked at it every day until it was released. My first encounter w/ MKII was at Aladdin's Castle arcade at my local mall. The amount of people constantly huddled around that cabinet was unreal. I'm thankful I got to experience the low-lit shady arcade scene. I shudder to think how much I spent on the first three MK games, Street Fighter, and NBA Jam.
I was a die hard Mortal Kombat fan...obsessed, that OG machine, with volume WAY up in the arcade, was the best. Big players were happy when #2 came on the scene, but still nothing compared to the original. Brings back memories...

Has anyone else noticed the initials on the high score/number of wins screen on umk3? Such as mk1,mk2,mk3,mk4,wwf,nba. Is that a hidden message for arcade 1up cabinets that are available and what's coming? Maybe you can figure out the other initials

Just got MK2 for Christmas. I dig it except for the graphics. Do you know of any software upgrade to get this not so damn lo res? They are worse than the Genesis version. I put it all together and fired it up and my heart sank. I can deal with the small size cabinet and less than stellar joystick but those graphics. I don’t understand with modern tech why they couldn’t be better.
MK Trilogy needs to be on there! Man I loved Mortal Kombat back then. I played them all in the arcade and owned them all on my Genesis, Sega CD, 32x, And SNES. I also owned the Trilogy on N64, and still have my PS1 copy. Thanks for the vid man, it looks awesome.
For me, aslong as i have UMK3 and KI/KI2 i am golden. Already own them on Xbox, UMK3 on Xbox 360 and PS3. KI1 and KI2 on Xbox Series X. With MK1 Anniversary arcade controller and a Tank stick for KI. But these Arcade1up's seem to be the closest and cheapest way to go for a similar feeling as you would feel back in the 90's. One of the biggest things for me is the constant movement on the lap controllers. The weight of the machines makes all the diffrence.
Got one in north central Ohio yesterday. Didn't get a change to put it together until this morning but I'm VERY happy with it. My biggest concern was the controls but they absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one.
Is the RGT 85 Arcade in the same plaza as the Cinemassacre Video and Caldor? Also, MKII, MK3, and UK3 have a dip switch inside that affects the IN game volume so even if you change the machine's volume, the game might not sound AS loud as you want it.
JACK WOZNY Ok man I get that playing it on the cabinet may be the way it’s intended but I gotta family to provide for, I can’t throw $300 round willy nilly, especially for 3 games I already can play right this moment on my PlayStation 3.
No disrespect but a lot of reviewers who have access to the Arcade1up Mortal Kombat cabinet who claims they were a big fan but don’t know any of the special moves or “Fatalities”...why?? Just sayin.
