My husband told me he was planing on popping the question at our friends wedding. I refused I told him please don’t take that away from them. Apparently our friends were really excited about it but I still wouldn’t have felt comfortable being a spotlight at someone else’s event they worked so hard for. Thankfully he changed his mind and we got engaged on top Of a mountain in the Adirondacks and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way ❤️

I was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding. The groomsmen were drunk and decorated the wrong car. I noticed that the brides father's car was covered in writing and pink stuff. I calmly went in and told him what happened. For the exit photos the couple got into his car and drove around the block. The father met them with their car and got honked at the whole time he was driving home. The groomsmen paid to have the car detailed. Lol

I’m a wedding photographer. I got booked last minute for this couple. I got there early like I normally do, but there was only family there( this was gonna be a big wedding like 200 plus guests) time went on and they start to panic… like no one is there. They have their food and everything just to realize they put the wrong dates on the invites… people thought it was the next day… venders were there and anything. It really sucked for them

If I was asked prior to the event (depending on who it was), I would be down for a surprise engagement proposal. If I’m caught off guard, you bet those people are cancelled.

I like the videos where the bride looks like she's going to throw the bouquet and then gives it to one of the girls, then turns her around, and there is her BF proposing. I think it's such a sweet thing to do for someone you love, and it's planned, so you could choose whether or not it happens at your wedding. If that makes sense.

In regards to proposals during someone else's wedding I am COMPLETELY against it! Unless you discuss it with the bride and groom and get approval to do so, there is no reason for you to steal the spotlight from the bride and groom. They just spent thousands of dollars for this event to celebrate THEIR love story. You can pick another date for your romantic moment. Completely inconsiderate.

My husband, myself, ring bearer, flower girl, one groomsmen, and 3/4 bridesmaids came down with the stomach flu the MORNING OF MY WEDDING. we were all dying during the ceremony. The officiant sped up the ceremony and somehow nobody managed to poop, vomit or pass out in front of everyone. Never thought I’d be wearing 2 adult diapers walking down the aisle.. but I did!!!🤣🤣might I add, nobody knew we were sick unless they were family and heard otherwise. Hire me as an actress.

Would love to see a signs a marriage isn’t going to last from a wedding planners perspective

I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding. The brides aunt made all the dresses for the bridesmaids out of a heavy bridal satin which was beautiful however the wedding was in August, in the south in a country church with no air conditioning. We were all sweating, getting dizzy and then proceeded to have only cake and punch in their backyard where there was very little shade. One of the bridesmaids passed out and everyone was leaving early. Last time I ever said yes to being in someone's wedding.

I missed my brother's wedding ceremony. I had a one-week-old (via c-section, so I wasn't moving well), which made me run maybe 10 minutes late. We arrived just as they were being pronounced man and wife.

I was a ring bearer when I was about 8 and lost the brides ring like an hour before the ceremony, and had to scour the room with the maid of honour and my grandma to find it before the service. Crisis averted though!

I’m very meticulous (and I planned for my duties with your videos 😁) but for my best friend’s wedding, when I was the maid of honor, I assigned someone (a guest and friend) beforehand to hold my emergency bag and bring it to me after the ceremony. It also had granola bars and water bottles for the wedding party. The photos took a couple hours and it helped a lot.

I went to a wedding where a bridesmaid had invited herself to be a bridesmaid the Monday before, decided to do a toast that included the words "I dont really know (grooms name)", and decided to sing an a capella solo (poorly). To be fair, we should have all seen this coming as her attention-grabbing stunts in high school included stealing everyones boyfriends.

I've never been one to dislike announcements at weddings, but I think you're right. Depends on who it is and if they ask or not. Last year, we decided to reschedule our big wedding (due to covid) and plan a smaller party in Vegas. My maid of honor decided to also get married that weekend, but she didn't want to tell anyone for fear of "stealing the attention." When my husband and I found out we started including her fiance in more of the celebration and made it known that they were getting married too. In regards to happy news, I'm always in favor of the more the merrier.

At my wedding in 1998, my future brother-in-law forgot to set up the video equipment. The DJ mixed up the bridal party dance with the mother/son dance. He also started the reception with the one and only song that we asked him not to play. The best man's girlfriend started a fight with my MOH because she (my MOH) was flirting with him. My husband's 8 yr. old niece accidentally photobombed almost every outdoor photo. It was a total disaster! 🤣

At my friend's sister's wedding, the brother of the groom and the sister of the bride (my friend) each gave a speech and they could not have been more different: My friend's speech was short, sweet, to the point, and talked about a funny occasion where the groom helped her out of a bad spot, just really showing that he's a good guy and she appreciates her new BIL. His brother roasted him, went on for a bit about nothing really relevant, and then randomly made a comment about "5 inches". Be like my friend. Short, sweet, earnest.

I've been to two weddings where the officiants said the wrong name, in one he said the groom's brothers name and in another (different officiant) he was the groom's uncle and said the groom's ex's name instead of the name of the bride. I've also been to a wedding where the bride herself got completely wasted and was walking around with a bottle of Jaeger and would freak out and run away every time someone tried to take it from her. As for surprise engagements or announcements at a wedding I'm not a fan of them. It's a day to celebrate the couple and someone trying to steal the spotlight doesn't feel right to me.

As long as ALL parties agree to the engagement plans I think I would he totally fine with someone getting engaged at my wedding! Like if they asked me and my fiancé and their partner and everyone was cool with it AHEAD of the day, sounds fine to me!

Only person allowed to get engaged at my wedding is my brother and he better let me in on it because I’m down but let’s make it a special family affair of love. If you don’t wanna share that love then pick another day. I don’t wanna have a random proposal on that day but I’d be happy to secretly plan it in if that makes sense.

I’m iffy about the proposing at someone’s wedding thing. Like me personally, I wouldn’t want that at my wedding and I wouldn’t have wanted my (now husband) to have done that at someone else’s wedding. I was super laid back in most ways for my wedding, but I still wanted the day to be about me and my husband (especially since some people had already been making me feel like crap for being too “self centered” about our wedding). So I would have been a bit upset if someone chose to propose at our wedding and took a special moment away from us. That said, I think if you’re wanting to propose at someone’s wedding, you definitely need to ask the bride and groom if they’re okay with it! Do NOT propose out of the blue at someone else’s wedding! You’re picking their big day to do something for you. So be respectful and ask them ahead of time. If they say they’re fine with it then great! But it gives them the option to let you know whether or not they’d be comfortable sharing the day with you guys.

I know this is an old video and no one's likely to see this comment, but that very first one about the groom being late reminded me of a dear friend's wedding, which had an adorable mistake on the part of the groom I really wanted to share. The whole family and bridal party were staying at a hotel near the venue the night before. Lovely old fashioned cars had been booked to take the groom and groomsmen from the hotel to the venue, then come back for the bride and her party. But they show up, no one's there waiting, and the best man's not answering his phone. So they contact the man of honour and say they can't get through to the groom and he's not there. No one can find him. Several panicked phone calls later, the man of honour gets through to the best man who had turned his phone on silent too early, afraid to forget later and mess up the ceremony. It turns out that the groom, his best man, and his groomsmen ALL somehow misunderstood/forgot that the cars for the bridal party were supposed to take them to the venue first and then come back for the bride. The groom thought he and his groomsmen were walking to the venue, and he was SO AFRAID of being late he'd walked to the venue and arrived well over an HOUR early. Brief stress, but when the bride heard why he'd been missing she kind of laugh/cried and said something like "if he's that keen to marry me it really doesn't matter what goes wrong today." That's still one of the sweetest "wedding problems" I've every come across. 😄 Side note, the cars ended up taking a few more elderly family members to the venue in lieu of the groomsmen and giving them a lovely ride in style to the wedding, which was nice for them I think!

My own mother gave a speech at my wedding and got so nervous and told a story about something that never happened. I have photo evidence of my face while she told her made up story about how I came home from school in 5th grade and told her about how I met a really nice boy at my new school(now my husband of 2 years) this never happened I never talked about him until I was in middle school 😭

Oh my gosh to that first one! I had a wedding where the best man tried to bail DJ no-show then I became the DJ. And the caterer was hours late. Literally the most stressful wedding

I would HATE it if someone proposed at my wedding. That day is supposed to be about us. We spent thousands of dollars treating every one to an amazing time and YOU'RE going to HIJACK the atmosphere for an easy proposal? Na-uh dude! You gotta work for that perfect moment!

I think proposing/announcing at a wedding is pretty gauche. Even if the couple is chill, it's still their day. It's not about you. I feel like it also takes away from your proposal or announcement, because it's _not_ about you that day. Set aside a different day for your own stuff, and people can celebrate with you properly, because they can focus on what's going on with you. Don't horn in on someone else's celebration.

TBH if I know before hand that they wanne get engaged on my wedding I'd probably be all for it! Just don't do it without my knowledge... Yip I'm a bit of a control freak🤣

Our DJ was a family friend of my dads and he missed quite a few cues and sadly not many danced and it still makes me sad a bit to this day

I just got married last week and omg, indeed you MUST FEED THE WEDDING PARTY xD I was able to feed my bridal party some food in the morning but by the time ceremonies were over and my photographer was trying to take pictures, I hear the best man say, "aww man I'm so hungry..." I literally tried to kindly ask my photographer to get the shots with bridal party and groomsmen first so that they can rush over to the cocktail hour and be able to eat some food xD hahaha. I learned so much through your videos and it ended up being a great day. Last takeaway for any other brides out there: every wedding will have hiccups and/or fuck ups. But keep your cool and look into your partner's eyes. It'll all be okay and magical.

I would be livid if anyone proposed or made an announcement at my wedding. Fingers crossed no one does, my wedding is in less than a year.

It just irks my nerve and I cannot stand that one “family” member or “friend” who is jealous and just can’t see you be happy and still find someway to make it about them even when it’s not their moment. I’ve been searching venues for if I ever get engaged/married (I don’t email or contact them, I just look to see if they have the prices on their sites- absolutely love when they do) and so far my absolute favorite venue has security included in their price. Best DAMN believe they will be instructed to remove any guests that announce a pregnancy or propose to their S/O. There’s 365 days in the year, y’all can have the other 364 days. My wedding day is gonna be about ME and MY SPOUSE!

I would probably only be okay with a proposal at my wedding if I was in on it and maybe helped fit it into my schedule. A baby announcement would be a total NO for me though because I'd probably end up crying because I already know that I'm physically probably going to be unable to have a baby so it's just a sore spot... it's supposed to be a happy day for me and that would just bring up a lot of pain that few would even know or understand.

ESPECIALLY surprises! at least have the damn decency to ask the couple. omg a woman i went to college with posted her proposal and her fiance proposed to her at a wedding where she was a bridesmaid!!! and i went to her fiance's post and read his take on the proposal and i kid you not he literally said he was waiting for the NEXT WEDDING THEY ATTENDED SO THAT HE COULD PROPOSE ON THE SPOT!!😯 proposing during someone else's wedding was always a part of this man's plan and i could not be waving the red flags more!😬😬😬 oh and it was a surprise btw! neither the bride or groom of that wedding knew! how do i know?! bc they both posted the surprise pictures of the couple! forget about it being tacky, how dare you use someone else's dime for your event without even asking?! the food, the venue, the photography, the bridesmaid hair and makeup and outfits everything for someone else's wedding and you decide to essentially take it all for yourself? And i say yourself singular bc it's the one doing the proposing that plans it that way, not the one being proposed to. anyway that was a rant but i have strong feelings about this! lol

I would help my friends coordinate a proposal at my wedding! I want my friends to get engaged at our wedding (they are both in the bridal party) and I plan to do a bouquet toss, but at the last second I turn around and hand the flowers to her :) then her beau is behind her with the ring!!

If I was asked before the wedding if an announcement was ok, I might be alright with it. But honestlyyyy, I don't think I would say "yes" to anyone. 😂

If someone proposed at my wedding in-front of me I’d be pretty annoyed or in a room with everyone watching. But if they went somewhere to a quiet space and did it privately I wouldn’t be quite so annoyed.

Proposals/baby announcements at my wedding: Now, I'm not super against the idea... If my FH and I were asked before hand then I'd be fine with it and would give them a time during the reception for them to do so and will have made it clear to all that this was approved (assuming my FH is also ok with it happening of course). However, if someone did so without discussing it with us then I'd be very upset.

I'm having 90 people to my wedding which is really all the people I love and are close with, if someone got engaged at my wedding I would be so glad cause I know it would be someone me or my fiance cares about. Hopefully they'll tell be beforehand then we can arrange a special time and maybe drop flowers from te roof!

The worst wedding I ever went to was my nieces. It was an outdoor wedding in August. We had record highs 95 degree's and the humidity was over 50%. It was an hour away from me. I missed the road sign. It was on a dirt road with lots of tree's. I lost the signal on my phone and the directions. Not a damn person in that town knew where the road was. My niece had all kinds of signs at the wedding But not one on the actual road to direct anyone. Guess who missed the wedding after looking forward to it for months. Had the worst time ever. The only thing that saved me was the ice water. Oh... and the uncle on whose property it was wouldn't let anyone plug in anything but two tiny fans that did absolutely nothing. Horrible.

In general, I'd be "naw" if people want to get engaged at my wedding but it really depends who it is. I don't think anyone I know would even ask me, but I'm afraid if anyone asked me I'd probably say yes because.. that's me.

I am totally against using someone else's event/occasion to announce/propose/anything related to not the person who the event is for because there are 365 days in a year and infinite ways to share news. You do not have to pick that one date/event/manner of sharing.

I warn the brides and grooms that what they will remember most will be these kind of things. Almost every thing is more a success story not a fun memory.

if someone had an announcement or proposal and they wanted to do it at my wedding, ASK ME FIRST, then i can help you make the announcement/proposal a) super awesome and b) happen at a time that i'd be happy with, such as the bouquet toss etc. my wedding is a celebration of me and mine and our family becoming one, so i'm very welcome to celebrate other family wins, but do not blindside me with it. rude.

I really don't understand why people are uncomfortable about announcements at the reception. Like if the bride's parents are divorcing, I get why they should wait until a week or two later to tell everyone, but a pregnancy announcement is a _good_ thing. Someone was so inspired by my love and effort that they want to propose to their partner at the wedding? Sounds like a bonus achievement. As long as no one besides me shows up in a wedding dress, no one interrupts the ceremony itself, no one cheats on anyone else, and my mother in law doesn't insult my mother, what's the big deal? I've been to weddings where people bad mouthed the food, the locale and the signature drink while the bride wasn't in earshot, I know what an actual failed event looks like. Other people having lives outside of me is not a major upset for me personally.

Don't steel my day. Bestie or not, YOU WILL BE ESCORTED OUT! Just ask privately before the wedding day to make an announcement when all is said and done, you might get a no but you won't be thrown out!

There is maybe ONE person I would let propose at my ceremony and they would have to vet it with me respectfully and far in advance. Even if I was okay with it I have no clue how his girlfriend would feel at that moment. If I got proposed to at a wedding I’d feel a smidge uncomfortable even if I could see the bride and groom were happy and excited for us.
