These pickups sound great. As a strat-player, I am a single-coil guy, but these do sound clear & articulate. Very impressive. Great tone's & playing brother.
Oh my god these pickups are so good. I had my first week with them. If you are a single coil lover but want more oomph, h bomb is for you. More bass and mids but with the same sparkling treble . Very articulate and expressive, no mud. It’s a revelation for me because I like the edge of breakup type of gain and the paf humbuckers I have sound so dull.
I may have to grab a set of those for one of my guitars and try them out. I'm diggin' the spank and chime, but the fuller bottom end than the TV Jones pickups usually offer. God bless and riff on 👍😎🎸
Thanks! In this case it was super simple, just the AMP1 directly into my interface via my Torpedo Captor, then used an impulse response of my Legend 2x12 with WGS Lead 80 speakers :)
Hi Lucas: as usual, great demo. To my ear, these pickups sound great with clean tones. Remind me of my Tele fitted with Fat 50/Nocaster CS pickups. Vintage drive is fine with both pickups and neck, the bridge sounds just a bit harsh to me: maybe the BluGuitar amp accentuates the treble frequencies too much ...? The modern drive isn't my trip anyway 😉 Planet tone are winding very nice sounding pickups and these are no exception to the line ! Cheers mate
Add a 2.2nf capacitor to the tone pot instead of whats in there. And wind the tone knob back and it will tighten the sound even more. It won't take away loads of tone but it will trim the top off the very high frequencies without too much low end effect. Making it sound even tighter and clearer. There is a noticeable difference. This works well from shrill stratocasters
@@LucasFowler Yeah, but those amps…Nothing sounds like them. I had never heard of them until I saw then in your channel. I’d get one except I don’t have anywhere to let them roam freely and make as much noise as they want.
Good question! I think they have a tighter bass response than the SE Starla pickups. They are also a little lower output and more harmonically complex, a bit more mid-forward and "twangy". The stock pickups are excellent though, especially for that price point of a guitar.
You can order them with 4 conductor wiring but they’re low output pickups so a split coil sound may not strong enough without doing a “partial split” mod.
@@josecarlosrodriguez5074 they are different tools for different jobs. The H-Bombs are more clear and twangy, so if you want a sound like that go for the H-Bombs. The Legacy set is more like traditional humbuckers, so if you want a warmer, fuller sound, I would pick those instead. They're both excellent!
Put the toys away and plug straight into a amp with a real cab. Great speakers but you color the sound with digital processing. So I can't tell if I'm hearing a pickup or a modeling processer. I'm not being a snob, I just don't get all the processing these days.
@@ky9999 lol yep, all my amps Have tubes and real speaker cabs, everything is analog. It worked for 80 years, why would l change. Nothing like plugging into a Marshall and cranking it . Besides I don't have time to or patience for these new computer music, studio magic, I like raw studio work like Tom petty and the heartbreakers. Listen to them albums, they recorded everything live and on the spot.

@@Newnodrogbob I never said that it didn't sound good, I just want to hear a pickup straight into an amp to judge it with my own ears, I don't have amp1 and Ir cab modelers and all that, I have a guitar with pickups and an amp to plug into that's how I judge a pickup on how it sounds, if you don't plug straight into the amp your changing the sound somewhat, modeler, pedal, whatever. So maybe I wanna buy a set of those pickups, but I don't have all the fancy computer crap.
