Yeah, I remember the Miss Fortune skin. I thought it was a very cool skin and definitely better than a regular skin, maybe 15-20$. I think the price on the skin was what I heard the most about. "That new MF skin looks really awesome, I'm not paying 30$ for it though.", was what I generally heard.

I mean, I remember the controversy with Gun Goddess MF. Honestly, the only reason people complained about it was because the Lux skin that came before it was just.... too overwhelmingly good. It had WAY more forms and each form felt more unique than her 4 forms. Each form had different particles, same as MF's. AND each of Lux's forms had a slightly different recall. All of MF's forms have the same exact recall, although I will grant that they each have different ult animations. But you can easily see the outrage here. Lux had 10 very different forms, very distinct with slightly different recalls, different particles and different voice lines. MF got 4 forms that look very similar, had the same recall (but different ult animations) and a few (but significantly less) unique voice lines for each form and different particles. Lux's skin was just so incredibly over the top that it should have cost more than other ultimate skins, if we're honest. BUT HAVING SAID THAT, as an MF main, I love the skin and use it despite what people say about it. I love it. But it's not the only skin I use. I enjoy using a lot of her skins. I feel like most Lux players only use elementalist - which is easy to do since it's basically 10 skins in one... Anyway, I'm surprised you didn't mention the huge controversy with Seraphine's release skin being an ultimate and how people felt that she, as a champion, was only made to sell that skin and her base character feels very out of place and it was obvious they made "KDA Seraphine" before "Runeterra Seraphine". And personally, I just feel like the skin does not fulfill a different fantasy from the base skin. They should have made her runeterra story and identity way different since the ultimate skin would give them complete freedom to make her something else.... but ok, Riot.

Yea, I had no idea people were that upset by Gun Goddess MF. I thought it was well made. Each form had unique particle effects, and the skin featured a complete voice line and animation overhaul. It also had unique music playing at the start of the game, and on recall. And on her dance. It was clear to me that a lot of effort and quality went into the skin, and it was priced accordingly.

Seraphine and her ultimate I remember being a bit controversial too. Not only for lore or to sell K/DA stuff but that you basically just unlocked 3 skins rather than having one skin with lots of craziness to it

I havent played for years but i still remember the memories of me playing with Snoop Dogg Nasus and McDonalds Shaco.

The issue with the Irelia Frostblade change IS that it went from a Cryocore/Cyberpunk skin, to Snowdown. The ONLY similarities between the two were that it was still Irelia, and ice was involved. Not like you could get a refund either. Yeah we memed on the lack of Frostbooty, cause that splash was legendary but there wouldn't have been nearly as much backlash if they'd kept the actual theme and made a decent skin. As it was they had to tweak the colours and remove the ridiculous fur on her neck, because not only was it hideous, the visual effects with the purple colouring were terrible.

The one with the ex employee’s GF and seraphine is so bullshit. A rioter already explained how skin development does not work that way and how the ex employee would not have had so much influence over skin creation, and how the skin was actually inspired by another rioter’s wife, who posted about it before that pink haired girl claimed likeness to seraphine. Also, I’m pretty sure the timeline doesn’t work either since skin creation takes a long time, including making seraphin’s design and songs, which would’ve taken longer than the amount of time the rioter and that girl dated and broke up.

Even GGMF is better than "ultimate" skin on Seraphine xd Like, you can at least change the chroma during the game Xd So, in my opinion, her skin is more controversial than GGMF (and it cost more lol)

If riot made a character that looks like me I'd be so honored and I'll fantasize slaying monsters and enemy champions and brag about looking like this and that but these people really tried to sue riot for this and had me 💀

The Frostbutt Irelia got me, not gonna lie.

Its a fine line we walk as artists between what is considered stolen and what is inspired creative liberty. These people who keep coming back with lawsuits have no understanding of this and think that just because they may-have-possibly-potentially-in-some-way-shape-or-form been used as a reference means that they are entitled to a portion of the artists' work. This is how art is done, humble yourself and quit with the greedy lawsuits. The only reason it worked for the soccer player is because people actually know who he is.

Nobody was mad over the Draven Draven skin. It was actually really well received within the community. The ONLY problem was the fact that they didn't bring URF back. As for the MF thing, that literally was shitlords on Reddit acting like it was Twitter. GGMF is a pretty nice skin.

While "loud minority" thing is true, in this instance it was good. Cause if you give em an inch, they go for a mile. I dropped LOL around 2014 due to same issues back then. And if riot started to listen - it is good. And they need such "inority" to keep them in check. Cause while skin can be overally good, cause "it is just minor thing"... once you accept it.. next time they would do same fore sure. And go further.

I got the Gun Goddess MF skin for FREE when I reroll some normal looking skin. I was so happy and I never complained about how the skin looks. For me it was beautiful and awesome. 💯🔥👌

To be honest I think the new Seraphine skine caused more outrage than any of theese...and it's for good reason too

I remember the GGMF backlash. And, while I agree with you on it being overblown, you're missing the context to it. It had more to do with Elemental Lux being the one that came before, and just how much MORE it was than GGMF. GGMF didn't bring anything new, with it's big thing being shifting forms but Elemental Lux already did that, did it better, had way more forms, each one with their own voices and unique designs, all of which outshone GGMF's comparatively lackluster 4 forms. Another contention was that they didn't get the original VA for MF to do the voiceover for the skin, either. So, yeah, I kind of understand the disappointment, but it definitely went way too far and was definitely just a case of the vocal minority.

I'm an MF main with almost 2 million points on her, and I hate Gun Goddess Miss Fortune, but I do like Star Swarm Miss Fortune form. Also, in the early early stages, the youtube comment sections for that skin were filled with anti-GGMF comments. Sad that the person who made it quit.

Draven day was hilarious, eaither way league lost my respect when they changed my earnest elf Tristan skin weeks after I bought it, then somehow perma banned my beta old account with over 3k wins during a 2 year break for no apparent reason. I log in now and then just to play yuumi now that's the extent of my ambition now.

Duno what are you smokin but custom skin comuinity is shining nowadays. There are even channel dedicated to only custom minecraft skins for league. And nothing changed, its risk at your own, its not explicitly forbidden to use them but if you'll get system ban - nobody will help you. Even though, never heard about someone getting banned with newest skin changers. P.S. But riot did explicitly said that using their skins is bannable, if you don't own them.

Let’s just all agree that all skins are great except for Sona 2’s ultimate skin, they designed a champ after a skin and it isn’t even an ult skin it’s just 3 skins in a bundle, ultimate skins change in game but Sona 2’s one can only be changed out of game, like a chroma or a different skin.

I only cared why Goth Annie Splashart, the face was changed to smiling, losing its original cuteness, dramatic mascara 'melts' and no longer felt proud to have that skin.

I had time for barely one game and when I got home I jumped on pc, turned on LoL, saw that there was no URF and I got very dissapointed because I started playing in autumn of 2015 and never played URF before and I also knew that URF usually came around april fools.
