LeBron James created the era of the Super Team. BUT Steph Curry and Kevin Durant elevated it to new heights when they decided to join forces following their individual CHOKE jobs in the 2016 postseason.
Curry has better final stats then Kobe. And 2022 warriors team would lose everytime to 2010 lakers. If curry and Kobe left the teams This Kobe had a better team
Basically all of the players who were drafted into the league post 2002 till around 2012 are straight cowards. I'm hopeful that this new generation of guys like Giannis and Jokic does a hard reset and takes us back to the ALPHA mindsets that greats drafted in the 80s and 90s had.
LeBron's transfer from the Cavaliers to the Heat in 2010 was a huge moment in NBA history. LeBron's formation of the Big Three with Wade and Bosh ushered in a trend of super teams in the NBA.
@@goofywill90front office made superteams are two different things reason why people don’t like what bron did is cuz a superstar in his primed joined another and stacked the team while also being in the weaker conference, pretty much guaranteed yourself to be the by far favorite of the conference
@@goofywill90 The differences: - All 3 on Miami made All-Star the prior year, and all three were going into year 7 = PRIME years. Wade is the oldest at 28. - All 3 Celtics were in their 10th year or higher, and Pierce had missed AS team the year prior = not prime years. Might not seem like a huge difference, but add up the age gaps team-wide and notice that nobody on Miami's championship (2011) rotation was beyond year 10 besides Mike Miller.
Kawhi Leonard played 52 games last season, Paul George played 56. Chris Paul played 59 Damian Lillard played 58 Stephen Curry played 56 Anthony Davis played 56 LeBron James played 55 Devin Booker played 53 Kevin Durant played 47 This isn’t a Clipper problem, it’s an NBA problem Fans and media pick on the guy that doesn't speak.
It’s easier to put up stats in less than 56 games than potentially see those stats diminish in a longer season plus post season. Such incredible athletes that don’t have a tough bone in them. Cowards!
John Stockton missed just 22 games over his 19 NBA seasons. MJ played all 82 games is last season with the wizards age 40. But athlets are better now...
@@phillyphan1346 I actually agree with this. The term superteam started surfacing when that team was formed. The Heat however, should have been called a super duper team by comparison.
@@TheForkOnTheLeftist I am probably in the minority here on this but I think of a Big 3 as just that, a Big 3. So Boston was a Big 3, Miami was a Big 3, Cleveland was a Big 3. The Warriors were a super team. I believe a super team is 4 all star caliber players on one team. Just my 2 cents, I understand some may not agree.
@@skap_attack Personally i think lebrons move was worse......KD's was weak no mistake but....at least we should thank him from nullifying lebron getting more cheap low value rings.....the media tries to call KD's move the weakest but they only do that to damage control for lebron doing it twice......i mean think about it....lebron does it....wins and somehow he is the GOAT now or number 2 all time ?? "propaganda" but when KD does it he is somehow the villain ? one player is being overrated and inflated in the standings.....the other player is being vilified...when in reality they both should be to this day.....
@@august6281Klay was more important to the Warrior’s system than KD ever was. If Klay wasn’t injured, the Warriors would’ve 3-peated and Steph could have 3 Finals MVPs by now.
At first I thought it was a weak move but now that I realized KD did that to stop Lebron from ring stacking I’m perfectly fine with it. That man has constantly stacked the deck in his favor to win rings.
Micheal jordan and kobe bryant era was way better than today s era because now in this era is nothing but money and resting their superstars and not play a full 82 games in the nba
players today are more focus on the business side than the game itself. It's not 50/50 anymore. They were too worried to get injured that might cost them years of playing and millions of pay. They would rather have long bountiful career than have a great career in terms of legacy. Basically, they are taking the game for granted.
Honestly i think Lebrons move was more cowardly 1) No player in NBA history teamed up with 2 other members of his own draft class in their PRIMES in the same WEAK conference 2) Wade was already a champion and top 5 player in the league 3) Bosh was already a top 10-15 player in the league and a franchise player got raptors to the playoffs 4) Lebron has NOT beaten anyone from his draft class in the playoffs - his last loss in the east was to 04 draft class Dwight Howard Imagine Jordan calling up his 84 class (Hakeem and Stockton) or heck barkley to team up in their primes in the 90s of course they win 8-10 rings together Imagine Kobe calling up his 96 class ( Iverson and Ray Allen) or heck Steve Nash to team up in their primes of course this combination would win 6-8 rings together Kevin Durants move was weak sure...but it was reactionary to Lebrons move 1) Kevin Durant was a top 5 player 2) Steph Curry was a top 5 player 3) Klay is a good player but was never proven to be a franchise player If anything it leveled out Lebron trying to inflate his "LEGACY" by getting cheap rings KD gets a lot of flack....but in a way you should be thanking him lol.....the media tries to make his move seem worse only to justify or prop up lebron...
WELL SAID! I also think a huge thing that gets lost is that Westbrook cost the OKC thunder more than Durant did (took more shots than KD did). And the BIGGEST thing is this: once it got to 2015 and it was CLEAR the media was NOT going to hold Lebrons two SUPERTEAM titles against him the way, for instance, they held Barkley's inability to win one against him, Durant said "you know what? if history wont remember Lebrons cheap rings in a bad light, then they wont remember my cheap rings in a bad light, screw it." LEBRON SET THE PRECEDENT. Once that happened KD's decision, or something LIKE IT, was inevitable. Lebron started this Superteam BS period .
@@ZuraiLion All of the Warriors star players recruited Kevin Durant. Draymond is the one who was dick riding Lebum and implying Golden State couldn't win without Kevin Durant, even though the Warriors barely lost to the Cavs. The worst part is that Lebum is one of the people that got Draymond suspended. Draymond is a double agent for Klutch sports. 🤡😂😂😂
I respect KD as a player but to win a championship the way he did he got something to feel proud about? that's why I consider Nikola Jokic ring to be worth more then both of Durants rings combine because he didn't to take the easy why to winning, he didn't need to join a superteam to get the job done.
KD did a lot of the heavy lifting in that 3 year run. Every championship team is different, theres always that one player that carrys the team with big shots and clutch performance, KD and Jokic did that among many others they all deserve the same respect.
Im a Warriors fan and Curry fan, but after all these years looking back at KD’s decision to join us, I actually hate his decision to do that because he ruined the Warriors image and Curry’s image
The winning before argument is terrible considering GSW only beat CLE because Kyrie & Love were both out of the Finals. Curry also admitted to recruiting KD on JJ Reddick's podcast.
I didn't like the KD move, but I saw it as a counter to LBJ's move to Miami. Like MJ making the 13 minute "Thriller" video, then Prince saying, "Top this" and making the "Purple Rain" movie. Like the song, "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better." Checkers vs. Chess!
I don't blame Kevin Durant, he wasn't going to ever win with Westbrook and Harden wasn't the Harden we see today or the Harden we saw after OKC, which was a better version in terms of shooting. I will say that Kevin Durant is too sensitive of a person to not think that people would criticize his decision but, Lebron started the "Player Empowerment" movement trend, Durant and the GSW one upped him. BTW, it was reported that Draymond begged Durant to come play with GSW, not Curry. Curry and Klay just co-signed.
I still got Lebron and Bosh to the Heat as the softest move in NBA History. KD to the Warriors was just one guy to a good, draft-built team, and it didnt come at a time when teams were mostly built on one or two stars, like the Heat assembly did.
How?! KD blew a 3-1 lead and joined the team that beat him! Did LeBron join Boston?! N on everything LeBron haters try to have their cake n eat it too cause I thought the East was weak.... if so howcome Bosh was only able to take Toronto to just two playoff appearances in 7 seasons and got bounced in the 1st round both times? He also got held to ZERO points in game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals. Bosh is overrated asf
Looking back, I’m glad Durant did what he did because it’s what LeBron deserves for starting this trend in the first place, getting beat at his own game and accumulating finals losses.
The “Super Team” pandemic that has plagued the NBA is one of the reasons why the sport is at times unwatchable. Crazy how LeBron made it a trend when player movement was minimal. The 73 win Warriors likely would not have made it to the NBA Finals if Kawhi didn’t get hurt.
The Warriors, like most of the other teams with cap space had a plan in place to pursue Durant before the 2016 playoffs/finals. Steph didn't beg KD, he gave Bob Meyer's his blessing, as did the other players on the team. When KD joined the Warriors, it gave Steph something LeBron and some of the other contenders already had, a second player who could create their own shot. Yes it was designed to take down Bron and Kyrie. But they gave up depth to do it. Finally there's a very good reason why former players like Shaq, Iverson, Zeke and KG show love for Steph. That 2019 playoff run saw them in the finals in 6, but what Steph did, when KD, and most of their role players went down was insane. They should have lost to Houston and Portland, and they should been done in 5 against the Raptors(did I mention Klay was also injured?). But he still played with heart to the end. And the playoff run the season before last was nothing short of amazing. Look at how many people declared his title hopes extinguished. But all he did was torch the best defense in the league on a bad ankle. Game recognize game. Steph is the centerpiece of a dynasty, there are few offenses in the history of the game that relied so much on one player. At one time the expression, "jump shooting teams, don't when championships",was considered an absolute truth. Steph killed that narrative. Pound for pound he's one of the best to ever do it.
Lebum recruited Kevin Durant in 2016 too not just the Warriors. Can you imagine how much Lebron fanboys would criticize MJ if he recruited Magic Johnson or Karl Malone after he beat them? Lebum is a deckstacking crybaby and his cult refuses to admit to it. 😂😂😂
Ok, I had to listen to this whole vid to make a rebuttal....lol. But your point was made around the 7:00 mark and I totally agree. I never understood why Steve Kerr told them to go get Durant. I get it because of losing Harrison Barnes, but it in a way made them all look bad because it showed the true spirit of competition was dead...and Lebron lead the way. KD and Steph went right after him. The NBA is in a really bad place right now. Lebron needs to retire so they can do a major reset. Too many top tier players are playing together and it's watering down the competition pool...but Silver is allowing it so a lot of this is on him as well.
I completely agree with you. And ultimately while in a vacuum, the Curry and Durant pairing was WORSE and MORE cowardly than anything we have seen from LeBron, LeBron started it. He was on super team number two when the the Warriors were built. If LeBron didn't do what he did, Curry and Durant NEVER would have entertained a team up.
If you look at how poorly Barnes played in the finals, youll understand why the Warriors wanted to upgrade at SF. KD was who was available at the time. The 2016 series was that close, yet people act like the Cavs won in 4-5 games. Warriors needed someone else who could hit open jumpers. Even players like Gordan Hayward, Melo, or Rudy Gay wouldve been upgrades to Barnes and couldve been the difference between them winning/losing
My only beef with this video is for a guy who loves to use "context" in his videos, Skap fails to bring up the fact that Steph was injured during that playoffs with a sprained MCL missing two weeks during the playoffs in 2016. If Steph is healthy they breeze to the Chip and there is no KD. Also the Warriors were said to be going after Durant in 2015. All of this is facts.
The literal definition of a bus rider and the embodiment of taking the easiest route possible. He might be a great talent, but he’ll never have my respect as one of the greatest to ever play. It’s actually disturbing that people put him over Larry Bird🤦🏾♂️
LBJ fans always say “he had nothing in Cleveland”….yet fail to understand that the Cavs were a top 3 seed during that period…..The GM could only do so much to build around him, he didn’t realise LBJ literally needed all-star and FMVP players to win….
@@josecarranza7555 - were they the second seed in the East? Cavs couldn’t even MAKE the playoffs prior to Mike Brown, as soon as Mike Brown entered they became a top defensive team and were SECOND seed the East! You young clowns act like stars are BOUGHT! Give him an OLYMPIC team he wins bronze until Kobe joins! Give him stacked team that was meant to be a dynasty (ie Heats) wins 2/4 🤦♂️ goes to Cavs thinking that he has the Spurs’ numbers by getting young players only to come across GSW (who BUILT their team) - it’s either LBJ is the unluckiest star in history or he’s pure crap….the latter appears to be more correct.
@@josecarranza7555 - Larry Hughes and Zydrunas, both of whom actually increased their production oppose to LBJ who lowered his during the playoffs 🤷♂️ Now you answer MY question, who was in the East that the Cavs went through, where were they ranked that season compared to season prior, when did Mike Brown become Head Coach! 🤔
Durant joined a team that was getting better every season since 2009 , the core team lead them to there first championship and finals loss. He joined a great team. Lebron is building teams and set hopping left and right chasing chips. Nice to see my team get shredded you . 👍🏼
Kobe is a legend because he got rid of Shaq and then went on to three consecutive finals winning back to back in two of them. That is a much better story to tell then KD joining the greatest regular season team for two rings. I have been saying this exact same thing that this move of KD's is the lowest point that the NBA has seen. LeFlop's move to the Heat was bad but KD was worse.
Lebron and KD: The 2 superstar players who've had the most help in the history of the league. 20+ hall of fame or future hall of fame teammates. All to produce 6 total rings. Jordan had 4 hall of fame teammates and he got 6 rings. Kobe also had 4 hall of fame teammates and got 5 rings.
The term "Superteam," although adequately applying to teams before the 2010 Miami Heat, i.e. the 2008 Celtics, the 1996-1998 Bulls, the 80's Lakers, the 1983 Philadelphia 76ers, the 1989-1990 Pistons, the 60's, 70's AND 80's Celtics, etc. became a stigma when LeBron started losing to them. Second, neither Draymond Green, nor Steph Curry "begged" Kevin Durant to join the Warriors. The Warriors were trying to recruit Kevin Durant since the beginning of the 2015-16 season. Even LeGM and the Cavs were trying to recruit Kevin Durant. Third, Free Agency today isn't what it was like in the 90's, 80's, 70's, namely that it didn't exist in practice until the 90's. If mvp caliber players back then could pair up with each other, they would *cough* the 1998-99 Olajuwon, Drexler, Barkley, and Pippen Houston Rockets *cough* (put them on my list of teams to which the term "Superteam" adequately applies.) Last, do your research before clickbaiting and creating content with little factual evidence.
Great point bro because the way Skap talking U think he can Check Curry one on one!!!! 😂😂😂😂 I don’t Like Bron period, MJ is my favorite player, but the hate on Steph is borderline hilarious. Kobe is my dude but you think Shaq and Kobe wasn’t a super team with a winning coach and championship roll players?? Steph Klay and Draymond were drafted to the Warriors! Nobody was talking bout the Warriors like tht even when them boys got there! To battle career ending ankle issues to become a 2x mvp and 4x champion!!! Putting the Franchise back on the map as Champions, Major respect for Curry! Tlkin bout superteam. Dudes ah 🤡 Yeah I said it Skap’s ah 🤡 I see right through this dude. I like balanced analysis! This channel is another LeBron Curry KD bashing channel. I need balanced basketball takes not biased takes. Unsubscribing to this Bomb
It’s sad because I had high hopes for both LeBron and KD. I was hoping they would follow in the footsteps of Kobe and Duncan, Magic and Bird, but nah they opted to skip the grind.
Not really because OKC couldn't pay all 3 players the max especially after Harden's rookie contract was up and he wasn't going to grow into the player he became if he stayed in OKC, Durant really wanted to leave once they traded Serge Ibaka to the Raptors who was a huge defensive piece for them, the 2016 finals should've been Cavaliers Vs Thunder
no joke, I stopped watching NBA immediately after 'the decision'. only came back just last year because of Luka and Jokic. I missed a decade of NBA and I don't feel like I missed a thing, and came back just in time to see the real king's coronation.
That 2017 Warriors team still played the best form of the game I've ever seen. Love or hate the move, that was the most artistic representation ever on the floor.
Would have loved to see that series@@johndodo2062. I was a Bulls fan during that run. I think it's tight and comes down to the minutiae, like which set of rules are in place. For example the rules changes specifically around hand checking become a HUGE factor. Suddenly Bogut, Iguodala and Green get significant power ups if they're allowed to go that route. Rodman especially takes a HUGE hit if he's not. I just like the Warriors play-making with Bogut and Green in that series. I don't think the Bulls ever had to contend with that kind of motion and flow, the game just hadn't incorporated it yet. I would love to see how they would cope with it and the outside potency. It'd be a fun series to watch.

Clapped hard when the coward warriors got hurt. Thank you basketball gods. Thank you for tearing, Kevin Durant, Achilles and Klay Thompson’s ACL. Happy moments.

Bron played 20 years in the NBA and joined more superstars and star players than MJ and still don't have more regular MVPS Finals MVPS🏆than MJ Bron fans can only count stats and Finals appearances that's all Bron has
Wade said right after Kobe won his 5th ring, he shut of the tv and called LeBron because they both had only one. That's when they decided to team up with Bosh and try to catch Kobe. It didn't work!
GSW won before, with, and after while keeping the same core guys. KD KNEW he was going to GSW the moment they put OKC out, the courtship thing and the Curry visit were probably all just bullshit to share some of the heat that they knew would be coming his way. KD hasn't won anything since leaving to go play for an inorganic super-team in the Nets. lmao and now he's run away to play for the Suns after that disaster.
The LeBron KD Curry era will be known as the beginning of a dark age of the NBA. No defence, tons of boring 3s, and super teams. Just boring basketball.
If KD would have stayed in OKC the next season they could have had a western conference rivalry. That would have been good to see. KD saying that I'll beat them next year. That's what Jordan did with the Detroit Pistons.
LeBron going to the Heat was the most coward move of all time. He did it multiple times just to have a Super team and only end up 1 in Cleveland 1 out of 11 season, Mickey mouse (no cared season) in LA and 2 in Miami. Out of 4, he won 2 that went 7 games. The only convincingwin for him in the Finals was the against the Thunder. Without Ray Allen and Kyrie Irving he would only have 1 and a Micky Mouse Cheap.
As lame as it was, I wasn't even upset because 2011 and 2015 happened. The face of the league was happily building teams that weren't really Super Teams because they lost more than they won. What goes around comes around.
I always ask this question to people who compare Lebron to MJ: how can you compare Lebron to the GOAT when he’s not even better than Kobe? The whole conversation is insulting and beneath the intelligence of knowledgeable fans.
I laughed for the whole video. Finally someone calls out Steph for the part he played in the weakest move in team sports. Two of the most uneventful NBA seasons ever
What’s so funny is that Jerry West someone who should be revered is the one who really sold Durant on going to GSW but the Warriors are depicted as villains for doing the same thing every other team in the league was trying to do 😂
I always felt Lebron should've went to the Knicks in 2010 and created his own big 3 with Joe Johnson and A'mare Stoudemire, this would've been a legacy move for him winning a title in NYC, Second in 2016 i felt Durant should've went to the Wizards and play for his hometown with John Wall & Bradley Beal, we could've had a Washington/Cleveland rivalry for at least 3 seasons, both of those moves to me would've been way more respectable than Lebron going to Miami and Durant going to Golden State! 🤷🏿♂️ #JustMyOpinion
