The tether recovery literally made me laugh out loud and the matching move counter is one of the most clever ways I've seen of implementing a rhythm game mechanic.

When Waluigi does his neutral B and points up his finger, his finger should secretly have a hit box with a super tiny sweet spot

Some folks have pointed out that some of the moves I suggest here are similar to how Waluigi is in Super Smash Flash 2. Genuinely a coincidence; I hadn't played or seen pretty much anything from SSF2 before making this video. As a rule, I'll always credit places where I draw inspiration for in these videos. Still, I'd like to shout them out regardless. I checked out the game and it's very good. If you like Waluigi or some of the ideas in this video like an up-air that spikes, definitely check that game out. It's really polished and the roster is insane.

Little do you know, Sakurai sent this man the actual waluigi moveset.

"Waluigi doesn't fit" really is giving me Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door flashbacks. Just having something that can and shouldn't fly and Nintendo would probably want to distance themselves from, but they just can't get rid of it because of the intense fondness it's fostered, no matter how contrary it runs to the current Mario brand. I think that celebrating that difference in this moveset is done brilliantly here. Also y'know, really great editing, generally very smart, comedy bits that feel off the cuff rather than entirely stilted - you've got the chutzpah and skill of a far larger channel, and I am greatly looking forward to where you go from here. And congrats on getting through the entire grabs section without making a single Jojo's Bizarre Adventure reference. Like, even if you don't understand what reference could be made, congrats for not making it, you're a stronger man than I.

I think that his Neutral Special should be like Dan Hibiki's taunt from Street Fighter, that way he would be able to taunt in the air and roll while doing it.

I totally think this moveset would best represent waluigi, I especially love the passive mechanic because it fits so perfectly. I don't know how this channel doesn't have more subscribers, but I will definitely recommend this video to some of my friends.

I absolutely love your illustrations, their so beautifully cartoonish! Waluigi would be interesting in how he’d handled, would he just take stuff from the Mario spinoff games (Sports, Party, Kart) or will use the most unconventional and mind boggling crap like what you shown in the video. This was truly an excellently CURSED Waluigi moveset. Just the fact his Nuetral Special is just a regular taunt, and his actual taunts have secondary effects as if they were specials, is cursed enough and I love it.

Here's one idea to add some weird mechanics to Waluigi's Neutral Special that you suggested. I based this on one of Dan Hibiki's V-Skills in SFV. Basically, the taunt special would act like an animation cancel for normal moves (anything other than specials or smashes). How it could work: after Waluigi lands an attack on hit or block, he can then cancel into his neutral special (similar to how Ryu, Ken, and Terry can), which he can then cancel into another normal or special. I would apply a few limitations though. 1: you cannot cancel into the same move you canceled out of eg: (ftilt -> special -> ftilt). 2: you can only chain three 'taunt cancels' in a row. This would give Waluigi a very unique and bizarre combo technique without it being too overpowered.

This perfectly encapsulated Waluigi's cartoonishly evil abilities. He seems like the worst yet the best character.

This is so bloody perfect! Waluigi is such an oddball that even wanting to include him in Smash is a paradox. We want him because we appreciate his character and yet his character is the eternal sore loser, so to give him a starring role would contradict his identity. I've thought about it a lot and never came up with anything decent, but this video blew my mind open to the possibilities!

That counter mechanic, just from the perspective of a fighting game appreciator, is such an amazing idea Admittedly there'd be issues like what'd happen in a Waluigi ditto but it's such an interesting concept. Reminds me of something akin to Fantasy Strike's Yomi Counter

Ok, here me out on this idea. His neutral special should have an invisible "hitbox" that extends all around Waluigi with a decent distance. This hitbox does no damage and doesn't cause flinching. No, this taunt gives the fighter Ryu, Ken, and Terry's gimmick. They will always face Waluigi. Only this time it works in Multiplayer and no matter what, they can't back away, only approach. This status effect should be temporary and should only last randomly between 10 seconds at the shortest and 35 seconds at the longest. This feels both in character for Waluigi, but I feel like to balance it out, Waluigi will temporary be unable to use it again until about 30-50 seconds pass and it will be indicated with a small flash of purple light in Waluigi's eyes in his portrait similar to when you Perfect Shield a subtle hint to let you and your opponent (if they're aware of it). You will also know when it's over because for the duration of this taunt curse, the opponent will have a slightly red hue (as if they had become angry at the taunt). Of course to prevent abuse in a Team battle scenario. The attack can't be stacked and has no effect on anyone who has been hit by another Waluigi's taunt prior. This is sorta inspired by Duke of Dork's Leeroy Jenkins concept from Impossible Smash Bros characters.

If you set the neutral special to his taunt then maybe it could act like shulk's monado arts and you would get a taunt wheel to choose a taunt from. You could shield cancel it and if you don't press a direction then you'll get the normal neutral taunt. This way you could use all 4 taunts online.

Waluigi is one hot mess of weird and I love it. He's the humorous, wacky, underrated, element of surprise, oddball that Smash desperately needs to complete the circle of personalities. 💜 I haven't laughed so much at a video in a long while now, the 'using the shield as a weapon' is probably one of the most Waluigi concepts that I've ever heard of; aside from summoning himself. I love the damaging taunt too, Waluigi has to have at least one way to cheat somehow in all this. The swim through air is something I expected, however I didn't expect how it would be used. All these moves are so cursed and so Waluigi, this has to be one of my favorite Waluigi Moveset videos ever.
