I'm from the DMV. Spent half my life in N.E. D.C. Trinidad and the other half in Fairfax and PW Counties VA. I never heard about this story or gang out here (heard about them from Cali) but I also have been outta the streets for 15yrs. I’m from the Fairfax area & I remember this case very well. It was all over my social media’s at the time. Young Yoo was in my chemistry class in high school & I was acquaintances with Brandon White and we had many mutual friends as I went to school with him since elementary school. So shocked this happened and I somewhat knew both parties involved.

WOW its crazy I grew up in the DMV and knew this story well, now I live in Long Beach on the street that this gang started on in Cambodia town and had NO IDEA the two groups were connected. This was really interesting.
The shit MS-13 gets up to in the DMV would probably be up there with Chicago or something but it’s completely segregated from the rest of society here to the point it’s like it’s happening in another dimension. It’s not drive by’s and drill music, it’s like a bathtub having a torso in it or a corpse left in a park missing its head. No one hears about it. It’s insane. The language, citizenship and culture barrier basically makes 2 DMV’s. There was a body found a mile from my house and a mile from my high school which was mutilated so badly his limbs were dangling off and people who lived 5 minutes from the park had literally no idea it had even happened. Kids join MS-13 and become ghosts, they just drop off the face of the earth then years later you occasionally here “so and so? Yeah he killed someone” and if you didn’t grow up with Salvadorans, you’d never even know the guy existed. I had friends who lived in mansions with lawyer parents and friends who were smuggled here by coyotes when they were 9 then joined MS-13. It never really occurred to me how insane it was till I got to college

I grew up in this, I knew about TRG in the 90s due to the streets, there were other sets at that tyme, 7 woods and MS, even 18th street, but it was a different tyme in the 90s, I was around for all the 2000s ish but still didn't know this whole story like this, thanks for the info. Not all that glitters is gold, that's how I would describe the NOVA, I always called it the facade, cuz everything looks nice and suburban, but it's got everything required to have Street actvities, and the amount of money raises the stakes immensely. He grew up in Springfield and Herndon, so he kept me hip with what was going on, but in 95, Loudoun where I lived didn't have a Juvey, so when I went to Juvey it was off King St. In Alexandria, so I got a different perspective than even word on the street could provide at the tyme, I was only hip to TRG in reference to Fairfax, so when I saw Swamp do a story on TRG in Cali I thought it came by way of Nova, makes much more sense it's the other way around, Stupid me!!!😂😂😂

I was born in DC in 1971 & grew up in Alexandria Va.,we didn’t have a lot of $$$$ so I spent a good deal of time in the streets as a kid,Northern Va. was much,much different back then….the city of Alexandria had 5-6 different housing projects & big projects….some were temp housing for workers during WW 2 & later converted into public housing….Fairfax Co was the country to us….shit my grandparents lived on Victoria Rd & now I see that by 2012 or so there’s gang activity?
