THE MOST DANGEROUS FARM - Oxygen Not Included 

Came here to say the same thing. There honestly kind of a noob trap. I use one in my puft farm so it's fully automatic with no wrangling, but I see them in so many builds and they use a ton of electricity.

@@bivsvideos Well, power was not what I meant, even though you are correct. I mostly pointed out the fact that one does need the entire incubators + gantry setup, if one has enough critters already and can leave eggs to incubate naturally in the open. Incubators are only needed to speed up the initial ranching buildup.

I agree, once the farm is up to speed, the incubators + gantry can be bypassed but I wanted to include it in this demo for a more end-to-end package.

Incubators are the only way to level up husbandry, so it isn't completely useless.. About as useless as a dupe powering a lightglobe with a hamster wheel.

I dunno, I feel like at this point magma isn't going too far enough. If you're going this far, might aswell use molten iron or steel ;)

Haven't noticed any lag, but it will contribute if there are lots of other critters already on the map.

I just picked a not-too-insane number :D But yea, can be more if there is enough polluted dirt.

Auto-sweeper lags when several eggs pop out at the same time. Doors allow a bunch of eggs to drop out of the room ASAP.

This setup assumes there is a dirt farm already running.

I'm humbled and glad to see my designs in play. Dang, I really ought to see what's been happening in ONI lately, haven't touched it in a real while, been swamped. Going to get properly online later this year so I can finally lab some stuff up again.

Gantry door must be open for critters to come-in. Permissions don't apply if the door is already open.
