Since we're not doing the traditionnal version of this dessert (there's usually no pie crust), let me give you a tip that will make it tastes a hundred times better: add some orange jam or some black currant jelly on the crust before placing the meringue on it. Trust me on this one.
He's very allergic to nuts, so that's not gonna happen. (Edit: I just looked it up, and it's unlikely that he's allergic to chestnuts with his nut allergy. Apologies!)
stormbob When I first saw your comment, I was like, "Ooh! How could I forget the Vegan Mac N' Cranberries incident!" But then saw your edit and now I'll be researching nut allergies for the rest of the night lol.
just watched ''Isekai Shokudou'' and they served this up. I found it interesting and having looked at this clip...I HAVE MIGHTY NEEDS TO MAKE THIS!!!! Gonna try this out as soon as I can!
How strange! In my country there is pre made chestnut spread in the supermarket but most of us make it from scratch as it is much cheaper and what's more important we know exactly that it's made of 100% chestnut and without any toxic preservatives these pre made are full of
That's the traditional 'Mont Blanc' dessert but oddly put together. Pretty though. Usually there's Chestnut Purée in the Centre, to indicate the 'Rock' of the mountain then Meringue on top .' the Snow' Whipped Cream an extra bit of Whiteness, I've not seen it done on a pastry base before, looks very cute. If you went for Tinned or Vacuum Packed Chestnuts how much would you need? Could you try to make 'Marrons Glacé'? That'd be Awesome!
Mont-Blanc is a French dessert and the chestnut absolutely never is in the centre. The tradition is to have some chestnuts "spaghetti" on top of the dessert, just like in this video
Essem Sween Well that's the tradutionnal way to do it in France! 😊 And since it's a French dessert, I guess that means it's the "most traditionnal" one if that makes sense
Evoo Evoo Ah I really believe they are, but I don't think I can find them in my country without like, emptying my wallet out on the imported rich people's market.
Besides the shape this is pretty much a “Vermicelle”.. and that is way less bothersome to put together haha but the idea is cool even though it does not really look like a mountain haha ^-^
