That reminds me of common mystery about anime boys (I mean, I've seen anime girls like this as well, but with boys it's usually more extreme and dramatic). Like, there's this boy with long hair and he wears them in a bun, but then there's one episode where he lets his hair down and suddenly he has longer and more luxurious hair that you could expect. Like, longer and better, than the female lead, and she has to wear them down all the time, because no bun can contain THAT. Yet her man just have to whip his hair tie out. Is it a magical hair tie? Does the dude have to create a separate dimension for his mane? Is it illusion to impress people? No one knows. That's just unfair.
