THE MOST EXTREME KITCHEN DEEP CLEAN, DECLUTTER & ORGANIZE | Satisfying Before & Afters|Let's Do This
If you are looking for some deep cleaning, decluttering & organization motivation, you've come to the right video! I have tried organizing my kitchen so many times and every time I just can't seem to get it right, but in todays video I came in with an experiment and knowledge! I packed up 90% of my kitchen for a short period of time to see what it is I actually use and don't! We talk all about that in todays video but I also read a book called The Home Edit Life (book linked below) and the info I learned from this book is invaluable! In the book the authors Clea Shearer & Joanna Teplin talk a lot about "living the low bar lifestyle" & "No Guilt Lifestyle" and I myself have now applied these mottos to my own life! Im kicking guilt to the curb and setting the bar low, no more stress over unrealistic and high expectations, im just going to do my very best! Thats what I did in today's video! Will this work? Who knows? But I'm going to keep trying until I succeed! I'm a hot mess that bounced all over the place, per usual, but I always get the job done! There is so much going on in todays video, plus some really satisfying before & after's! Out of any kitchen video i've done, this one im the most excited for you to check out! The Pan that my mom bought me from Kohls, the Ninja NonStick Possible Pan (I think thats what its called LOL) I have no idea how she got that for approx. $69, she must have had additional coupons or something, because online its showing the original price at about $179.99 but its also showing me that its on sale for about $129.99 (as of 9/29/23) so I’m assuming she has additional coupons or something, maybe at the time she bought it, it was that low, but I dont think so. I also cant find the pan in the color she got me, the orange color, I only see a red/wine color, and a white and gray color. I love that pan so much, its amazing, but it is spendy! Just thought I would share this! Hope you enjoy todays video! Thank you so much for being here with me!

I tried to change my silverware drawer to the one directly behind the one it was in. We could not get used to the new place, even though it was much BETTER! I left it like that for about 3 months and we were still going to the wrong drawer, I just moved it back. It was ridiculous how hard it was to make that change after being in a kitchen for about 10 years.

Our public library has cake pans, muffin pans and hundreds of other things you can just borrow instead of buying. Like a good dehydrator, tools, camera, camping stuff. The list goes on! Our library calls it the Library of Things. Perhaps that would be an option if you only occasionally need a kitchen item; then you need not spend the money. Just sharing the info! Love your videos!!!

This is one of my favorite videos. Ever. I mean it. You totally worked your butt off cleaning, but the declutter and logically finding the best space for everything, sharing your thought process, was excellent! The spices in the open cabinet are attractive and easy to grab for meal prep. I think you will be enjoying your kitchen much more. BTW... I can't figure out your kitchen. Are the cabinets/counter at an angle under the window? The sink faces a hallway? I would love to see how the previous owner designed this "dream" kitchen and how you would like to renovate the space. There’s this lady on TikTok, She’s a minimalist! she recently sold her house and it only took her 3 hours to pack it all up. I want to be that lady 😂 she just has what she absolutely needs. I’ve been doing minimalism for over 12 years and that’s my goal. But with TikTok its still hard not falling for what’s trending. I’ve been wanting those ninja pans and the ninja slow cooker.

My heart is singing with joy that you got to look at the The Home Edit! I literally got happy chills through this whole video, it's legit one of my favourites of yours, Zomg!!!!!! Transformative huh!?! What!?!!! You fleepin wonder woman! I'm so proud of you!!! You've done such a great job in that kitchen! And I can't wait to see what you do when it comes to updating the space colour-wise too, just awesome!!! I adore what you've done with your fridge, and your herb cabinet - you and your fam have totally leveled up!! From the lazy-susan to the designation of drawers to different purposes like meal prep, I'm so thrilled by an for you as to how you've applied the Home Edit's tips and tricks to your house!! I feel like with the 'Edit' it's sorta like 'reformatting' your space, so that obtains objectives, like transforming an old newspaper article into a modern magazine article, if you get my metaphorics?! One thing, I'm a liiiiiil worried (due to my own experiences) with those cute white tubs you labelled on the top might be forgotten about if they're stacked; I've been labelling on two or three sides of a box just in case it's stored in a different way and doesn't get ignored. That's one of the tips that I remember Clea speaking about in the book that if there aren't proper visible labels the system falls apart.. It took me ages to get on top of storage for all around the house too, and have come to realize that if you're on a budget, cereal boxes can come in really handy as well as cardboard boxes that you can (if you want to!) cover with contact adhesive or fabric (even from old clothes!) until you have the time and money and feeling direction for what would replace said box, and with the cardboard you can change the dimensions and customize it so that when it comes to getting the storage from an online store it's the perfect size. Kmart in Australia have also started selling clear storage tubs and clear storage drawers similar to The Home Edit (and likely a little bit cheaper!) which is another way Ive been getting around the expense factor. Honestly you've done such a wonderful wonderful job!! it totally changed my perspective and I'm so glad I was able to share it with you! Keep up the awesome work Danni, I'm looking forward to hearing how your kitchen feels going forward after this great edit! 🤩🎉✨🎀🏆🎆🏅🌻🙏💓😃🌼⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✔

I think it is funny that everytime you ask your kids if they did something or know where something is, their voices both raise like 2 octives. And yet when you clean up around your living room and house you find them under furniture and all over. Our stuff used to disappear with kids in the house. Both daughters are pretty much out of our house and I don't have near as many issues finding things. When my daughter was packing for college, I went to check dresser in other daughter's old room. There was a WHOLE drawers of dishes with junk caked on! It was her sister's old room!! I asked the younger, why did she put those there, with allllll the spoons I was missing. She said, oh my gosh. That was like last year or something. I knew you would get mad at me if I brought them all down at once, and I didn't want to wash them. ugh!!! I was relieved to have missing dishes and silverware. But I was so irritated. So when home from college, I always remind her to bring down my stuff when she leaves. I don't want ants! Also, she had allll my sharpies she said she didn't have. I kept buying them, because they would disappear. I love my girls, I love my girls, I love my girls. haha I thought I was going crazy. Or they were getting thrown away.

I actually thought about packing up the kitchen like that to see…then I thought, ‘you will forget where you put things, and go out and buy another one.’😂 And…when I watched you throw out that muffin pan before-I yelled at the screen: Nooooooo! You will need that!!!! It's so good that you're rearranging the cabinets to make more sense! I love using my "Lazy Daisy" corner cabinet for food storage because I can see everything so well. I would've organized it the other way around with the drinks on the bottom because you don't need to see all of those duplicates as much as you need to see the variety of canned and jarred goods that you have. It's very likely that I may never use a muffin pan again but I kept 1 because I'll be damned if I ever buy a replacement!

I can't explain how it works or why...take the burnt pot and put dryer sheets in it. Add boiling hot water and let it sit. Clean with dish soap and use the sheets to scrub the burnt bits. May have to do multiple times. However, I do like the options what your Mom did better. She needs to show us how she did that! I want to know. lol I like the idea of packing up the kitchen to find out what you use and don't. I may have to try that.

We have tried a bunch of different things on our lazy suzan cabinets over the years. I have used it for food before my favorite use for it is appliances. We have our instant pot ( lid off), crock pot blender, toaster, and an infrequently used food processor on there. It isnt over crowded and for things we use often it works well and for things we use on occasion it works well. The toaster gets used every day twice a day and then whenever I clear off the counters I said it back under it is easy enough to create space on the counter without being a burden whenever we do want to go use it. It is two seconds. I like not having the toaster out on the counter since it takes up a lot of room but it has been great to use that space for appliances. When I had canned goods in there I felt like I got way too heavy and other foods I've had fall back behind or I would forget about it cuz it was very much kind of out of sight out of mind like the rotten potatoes i didn't realize were in there the one time. 😂 Any appliances that are very small or any accessories that are " extra" don't live on that shelf. I have other homes ( drawers) that lives in. And I also had tried other things in there like cassarole dishes and mixing bowls in the past at another home and that did not work well. Stuff would get jumbled and would fall.

If you don't like to cook, that instant pot is your best friend. I put double decker lazy suzans above the microwave. This is where I put all my spices in alphabetical order. Put or write with sharpie an A with an arrow pointing down on the top deck. Wherever you end on the top like say spices starting with G you then put G on the bottom deck right below the A. You continue like this around. Then if you need 2 of these separate them and put large or refill products in the middle on a single turn table or riser style step. It gets full but I love it even though I have to reach up it is fine. In your meal prepping cabinet if it is deep, add a plastic bin that you can pull out.

That lazy susan cabinet you have. I use mine the top tier for baking spices and supplies. The bottom tier I use for my regular spices I love using it for this it keeps everything in one spot and you don't have to dig for anything.For all my pantry food I use a separate closet I also purchased a small stand alone cabinet for canned goods. The only thing I have in my cabinets are dishes, glasses and pots. I highly recommend doing this also it frees up cabinet space. Oh ps my pantry closet is just a regular closet close to the kitchen not actually in the kitchen this is not a problem and has always worked out.

EASY solution for getting burned food from bottom of stainless pans. Add a scoop of laundry detergent to the water and bring to boil. Let sit for about 1/2 hours and it will wipe right out. I have never had a "ruined" pan in 42 yrs as female head of my household

My Momma passed away in 2016 and when you were talking about keeping sentimental things, I have a tote of personal things of my Mommas. I have other things of her as well, but they are like decorations and such. I could never be a minimalist. I LOVE Halloween and horror decor. Like my oldest son bought me a 6 foot Pinhead statue. Pinhead is in the movie Hellraiser. Hes just my jam! haha I love your videos so much! You make perfect sense to me!!

I completely understand about not liking the color of your kitchen. When we bought our house, the kitchen/dining area had gray walls. I hated them. The white cabinets were fine, the white tile floor with black grout was fine, but those gray walls tripped me up. It took two weeks of thinking before my light bulb went off. I figured out that some artwork I had, which was NOT traditionally kitchen/dining "art", worked perfectly with gray. Once we hung them up, the gray I hated turned into my favorite. You can use cotton fabric soaked in starch water as wallpaper. it'll stretch once wet, so trimming and practice is needed. What about putting cotton fabric in the "insert" part of the cabinet doors? The brown would then turn into a frame. It's also really easy to pull off if you want to change it or don't like it down the road. We used green denim on a wall in our last house and it worked great. I had the same reaction to the pan as your Mom. I swear, I'm you're Southern Internet Aunt. I'm the opposite, I'd rather organize than clean. Once you run out of rooms, just fly south and you'll have content out the wazoo in my house, LOL! Now is the time that I start to really buckle down on doing a deep sort/clean on the kitchen shelves. Thanksgiving is coming. By doing a big sort of things that need to go, I make space on a shelf that I dedicate to Thanksgiving. Now, the week before will it overflow to a box? Yes. but that is a planned. The shelf gives me space to buy the deals that come up before Thanksgiving so I don't make mistakes later. Ok, the coffee label made me giggle so hard. I loved it when you put it on the large tin, instead of making a teeny tiny jar of coffee. If my flatware went missing, heads would ROLL! The flames would've shot from my ears. How can it be disappearing? Flatware doesn't leave the house. You eat, it goes in the sink or dishwasher. Flatware stays near the plate, so if the plates aren't missing then the forks and spoons shouldn't be missing. Flatware doesn't go in lunchboxes or any bedroom. One time. ONCE, one of Mother's forks was accidentally thrown away. We burnt our trash, so she found it. it was kept as a reminder of what NOT to do, as it broke her heart (my money was on Daddy doing it by mistake). PROTECT THE FLATWARE! You did such a great job! The seasonings looked great in the open. Enjoy the fruits of your hard work!!!!

I am seriously cracking up 🤣"PROTECT THE FLATWARE" 10000% agreed. Pretty sure they're throwing them away, and I think I figured out why, when you said the flatware doesn't go in the lunch boxes, yeah I think that's what's happening, when they empty out their lunch box at school I think they're accidentally throwing away the silverware, not my oldest but I think my youngest is doing that. So I'm going to order some plastics spoons and forks just for lunches. Like you, I was thinking "silverware stays with the plates, then it goes in the sink / dishwasher how can they be disappearing" 😆 drives me nuts! Your ideas on the inside and outside of the kitchen cabinets is absolutely genius. I never ever would have thought to do something like that, how stinking creative. And I love that you took something that you didn't like and turned it into something beautiful that you love. That's how I am always trying to figure out ways to make something old into something new or something I don't like into something I love. You're super creative!!!! I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that, the label that I put on the huge coffee tin 😂🤣🤣 I thought that was funny too I'm so glad that you commented on that! Burned on foods. Dish soap + baking soda. Add water to cover. Soak overnight. Should be easy to clean next day. Also works o n Pyrex baking dishes.

Dani I agree with you on not trying to get that Pinterest look we need to use what works, and is affordable for each household. However I did ask for gift cards for Christmas at Home Goods , Target and Walmart so I can get what I need/want. Loved this video!

Pour water into the burnt pot and add one tablespoon of 'cream of tarter' (find in the spices section). Bring to a boil then lower heat and let simmer for 1/2 hour.

I just love your facial expressions Danielle!!! I really need to fo this in my master closet. Its s hot mess!!! Kitchen organization can ve hard, especially when you are trying to figure out a system that works for the whole family. But i think in this video you are on your way there. Tbh, i think you beat yourself up too much on the whole decluttering journey. Once we gave done a project, we always say to ourselves, i wish I could have done better. We all learn from our mistakes. the kitchen looks great. we are in the kitchen a lot. I can't get rid of as much. My husband will cook sometimes too. I don't like cooking...but I do it. And try to cook different things.

I've literally just started the video so maybe you talk about it. When you remodel the kitchen the wall opposite the sink would be a great place to add cabinets and a cabinet pantry if you choose to take out the upper cabinets and open up the space. The more you declutter the less storage you'll need but even minimalists store food and cookware etc. So if you lose the uppers, a wall of cabinets opposite the sink could be the replacement.

Are you familiar with Cas from Clutterbug and the four different organizing styles. I think this can help you with your daughters organizing style since you said you were getting too detailed or micro for her and she needs simple/macro. I HAVE TO SAY I am soooo impressed with how this came out. I love watching your channel but some times you’re soooo all over the place I cant follow along because it drives me crazy (like your add triggers my add) but this was a really good one and you kept it going on a straight path and the results were phenomenal. I really feel like you’re going to be able to keep this kitchen going like this. (and believe me Ive seen you rearrange it all a couple times and each time I was like whyyyy)… but this is good! I think you found what clicked. Even love the spice shelves.

❤ Wonderful, inspirational and encouraging. Your sweet mom had me in stitches, I can definitely tell where you get your awesomeness from. 😊 Sometimes it take a while and many trials and errors to figure out just exactly what works for us. Part of my problem is I don't like wasting time or money on those errors and that puts me in a "stand still" mode. I gotta learn to just keep pushing on and working with what I have and THEN strive for what will work best for "organizing". Good advice you give!! ❣

Stainless steal is easy to clean when burned, just at laundry detergent and water, only so that the burns are covered good, than boil it a few minutes (3-5 min where always enough in our family) on the stove. Dissolves the burns from the bottom. After cooling down, just clean it out and wash it. Greetings from Germany, sorry if i misspelled anything. 😊

You did great, I love the placement of your spices and it looks like you were able to maximize your lazy suzan. You should be very proud. In my kitchen I use glass canisters on my counter I have family members with adhd and spectrum issues, so they are my reason for organizing they need things to be quite visual and not too cluttered and very clearly labeled. But it does make my job easier.

I laughed so hard when you said you bought new muffin tins. I did the exact same thing, I got rid of mine and then I started watching my grandson when he was born and he got a little older and well what does a good grandma do but make muffins or some type of goodies for her grandson. I was not happy buying new ones but I can assure you I will never get rid of them again. I was wanting to get rid of my Instant Pot but I know as sure as I do I will want or need it. I have it put away in a spot that’s out of the way so it’s fine. I love your spices and let me assure you that you are not the only one missing small spoon and small forks. I think they are like socks they just disappear. You did another fabulous job Danielle. I’m sure you must be get chilly where you live as we are still in the 90’s here in southwest Florida. 🌴🌴🌴

Too funny, the whole reason why I purchased new muffin tins is because Zoey wanted to bake blueberry muffins, and she's really getting into baking now, so I didn't have a choice 🤣 but like you I will never get rid of them again. I thought the same thing with my instapot, it's probably best that Ian and Lucas wanted to keep it, I'm sure sometime in the near future we'll end up using it. And my mom gave me a bunch of silverware and for whatever reason we're down to two little forks and two little spoons, it's like how...where does it go it just magically disappears 🤣 it's not too bad here but definitely chilly in the am and at night, fall is here and winter is coming 😆 always so happy to see you here with me friend.
