My review of the Heritage package Abarth 124 Spider that Abarth lent me for the day. A great sporty little car, with a lot of punch for what is only a 1.4 engine.

I just purchased an Abarth 124 US spec, and I can tell you first hand, it's quite the neck-breaker since nobody knows what it is! I daily drive it and intend on doing the basics (intake, exhaust, tune, springs, wheels, tires) gradually, but until i get bored with it, it's a fantastic car!

Caterhams and Lotuses (Lotii?) are so much cheaper in the U.K. than Australia, but here the Abarth is cheaper than the U.K. but the Caterhams and Lotuses are double the price here. A BMW M240 is 80% more expensive here. It changes the whole proposition. The Abarth is a relative bargain here.

Great video mate. I've woken up a few times on sunny days the last couple of weeks and really missed being able to take it for a drive; so much fun! Loving your vids at the mo, trying lots of new stuff.

Awesome cars! Don't overlook the Classica. Much less expensive unless you like paying for bells and whistles.

The noise isn't fake. My father has the new Abarth 595 Competizione, the record Monza is almost straight through.

my dad went for at test drive in a 124. he loved it but later that day he went and bought a pre registered BMW M240i for only £2,000 more than a top spec 124.

Your dad made a good choice! The 240i is in another league, and a bargain for only 2k more.

Can't fault that straight six twin turbo, it's a great engine. Had my M135i for over 2 months now and still manages to put a massive grin on my face!

RC Truckin And Short Course good deal, unfortunately the Abarth is 5k overpriced. For the same price as this you could get a top spec recaro mx5 and turbo it. Even then I wouldn't criticise anyone for choosing an m240i, although for sheer driving thrills id wager the turbod mx5 would take the cake.

Good review. Small tip, don't block the shots of the car with your body, and keep the car in frame.

The sound it makes are insane for a 1.4 ! It sounds better than the Clio 4 RS which has a 1.6, that impresses me! But isn't it to loud ?

To be honest, it didn't quieten down that much. But this car is made for weekend driving, not daily use. And I wouldn't want it to quieten.

I've considered one of them, but 30k buys you a lot of Boxster which is argueably a better quality product... Good car review though Adam

I had Boxsters for 11 years. A 986S and a 987 RS60 Spyder. Trust me, they are money pits. It's not about the purchase price, they cost a fortune to maintain. They also have serious engine flaws which I found out to my cost of £5k (for a replaced engine.)

what about an rx7/rx8 pretty sure they're a 1.4 or similar!

They are a 1.3 However that 1.3 is just the size of 1 rotor, and most are twin rotor, so they are actually 2.6s.

Th ND Miata is a cheap quality, floaty piece of....While the Abarth may be the better of the 2 its styling is already dated.

What do you mean the car that Abarth lent you? Don't you mean the car that Fiat lent you? And why doesn't the title have Fiat in the name? Abarth is a trim level or special model on these Fiats.

No. Abarth are a separate manufacturer to Fiat. So Abarth did lend me the car. Fiat had nothing to do with it.

BMW Alpentouren what do you mean? This car is more pure than most vehicles on the road. Sure it's no Lotus Exige or anything but it's definitely more connected to the road than most vehicles
