Stuff like fingerprints was terrible before computers were a thing. It essentially was just someone looking at the prints and trying to match them as best as they could, which didn't always lead to the best results.

I know it looks kind of silly when the actors are overdoing the facial expressions, but I think it's for the better as it eases players into a system that requires a little critical thinking. The expressions become more subtle over time as the game gets harder. It's kind of a shame the studio shut down after making this, I would have loved to see another game that uses this kind of tech.
They were going to make a game called Whore of the Orient set in 1936 Shanghai, it was gonna be a spiritual sequel to L.A. Noire but they never found an investor for the project, and the fact that Brendan Mcnamara, the founder of Team Bondi, was a dick to most of the staff and gave them horrible working hours. But I agree an L.A. Noire 2 would be amazing, maybe set in San Francisco during the Zodiac Killer's murders

@@JeanMarceaux Wasn't that the guy who got extremely harsh and bitter towards Penguinz0? On a side note, I couldn't enjoy GTA V. The game's atmosphere didn't resonate with me at all, the cops were WAY TOO AGGRESSIVE AND TELEPATHIC, and you almost never made any money through missions. GTA IV was enjoyable for all the opposite reasons; while cops were aggressive, it was much easier to avoid and escape them. They also weren't telepathic lol.

What worries me is that most of Gen Z are in their 20s now and will be becoming police officers so the possibility of this is slowly going up each year.
Little bit of a fact behind the scenes was that the development of this game was an absolute horror show. A man named Brendan McNamara who was a writer of Team Bondi was constantly verbally abusing his employees. He also basically handicapped the game by assigning tasks to departments that had zero idea of how to do it or gave them unrealistic tasks to do (some stuff that would require a lot of time but they had to meet a dead line), employees were not compensated and were not included in the credits of the game and due to employees constantly quitting work loads would be dropped onto others who had no familiarity with what they were assigned to do. That happened over and over for 7 years.
Real World Location + random word always seems to create the best games. Hotline Miami, L.A. Noire, Call of Pripyat, Driver: San Francisco, it’s clearly just the formula for good game.

In case you don't know Pyro, Left and Right wings basically flipped platforms in the late 30s and there was a joke about the line of "left wing leaning parasite" in the development of the game because it was ambiguous which party meant which in this reference.
My favorite thing to do in this was try to get the achievement for an obscene amount of damage during a case And also run away from my partner - wait for him to open the door and drive off until he was just about to get in the car
As someone who used to drive in the fire service, I can confirm that turning into sirens and behaving like a general idiot when lights and sirens are going is realistic
i always use to wait months for a new pyro video, and would constantly being watching his old videos. But now whens hes kinda uplouding daily, i fucking loves this, keep up the good work pyro. (idk what it is, i just like to listen to him rattle about shit.) B)
In regards to the most dead eyes in video games, I’d argue that the XOF Soldier from MGS:V in the hospital (the one I’m talking about is the one the camera zooms in on him while he’s doubting if he should shoot the Man on Fire) has that spot locked down.
i felt less uncomfortable watching these characters exist in a 10 year old game than any other "realistic" games in the 10 years since. the fact that the faces actually have nuanced movement is such a wild improvement to the comfort of NPC faces. eyebrow furrowing, lip curling, it really actually makes game models feel more human, even with their fewer polygons and lower resolution textures. *why arent they doing this every time yet???*
