Thank you for making these videos. Since learning about the Alexander Technique I've found myself noticing more an more the constant unnecessary tension that I keep my body on. I then let it return to a more balanced state.

I've not got much specific experience with helping people with this but I'll do a bit of research and see if any of my colleagues have any useful information.

Hi there. Is there any chance you could make a video on the numerous ways that this method has impacted your life?

Thanks for the vid! What is a good Alexander Technique book you would recommend? I know anatomy well but am new to Alexander Technique. Thanks!

Thanks Alan. There are quite a few good introductory books written about the technique. 'A skill for Life' by Pedro de Alcantara is one I've always liked and 'Body Learning' by Michael Gelb is popular.

Is it normal to have pain after second session of the Alexander Technique?
@MovementandPosture
@MovementandPosture Год назад
An Alexander technique lesson shouldn't cause pain. The contact from the teachers hands should be very gentle and the movements and activities in the lesson shouldn't pose any risk to you. If you already have health issues, eg a back problem, you may find that the change in movement patterns might make it a bit sore but it shouldn't cause pain. I would discuss with your teacher or switch to another teacher if you aren't happy. Hope you find a good solution and carry on learning!
