what we really need is someone putting together a mind map slowly one what the humans body needs and in what food it's found. like all this new stuff not just vitamin d, b12 etc etc. it's way too much information out there and nobody has the time too watch RU-vid videos for every little vitamin, acid, mineral etc.
*Ergothioneine is a naturally occurring amino acid. This compound occurs in relatively few organisms, notably actinomycetota, cyanobacteria, and certain fungi. In humans, ergothioneine is acquired exclusively through the diet and accumulates in erythrocytes, bone marrow, liver, kidney, seminal fluid, and eyes.
Oh what an episode. So grateful to You and Dr Lee Carroll for sharing an ocean of knowledge for the benefit of mankind. It's so condensed that I had to replay certain portions of the interaction. Thanks again for this episode 🙏
I've been taking their products. Fresh Cap are the best imho😊. I've felt the difference in my cognitive function since I started taking the Lions Mane. I put the powder in my tea and also have it in capsule form. Thrive 6 is a combo of all in one capsule. I use that also.
Thioneine sounds similar to a B vitamin. Does it then need fat as a carrier as B vitamins tend to be hydrophobic. Organ meats were mentioned which could tie in.
It also at least appears to be in a variety of foods, so you are getting small amounts if you're eating certain types of legumes, grains, organ meat and of course mushrooms. * Spirulina apparently and fermented foods. So when he said that we're not getting enough in America has one of the least amount, I think a part of that is that Americans also eat less organ meat as well. They eat more animal products like muscle tissue but not as much organ meat as what people would have eaten even a few generations ago. And Americans have never really been big with mushrooms. 🧐
Mycorrhizal fungi in the soil transfer it to plant roots. That's the process by which it ends up in other foods. The problem is that tilling the soil and myriad other common modern farming techniques completely destroy the soil fungal networks. Therfore, little to no ingestion by the majority that don't specifically eat a lot of mushrooms and certain fermented foods etc. That means MOST people!
@@user-uk7tk8oc9f Yes, It does seem so doesn't it, our agricultural practices are bad. But thank you for adding that into it about the soil. I wish there was some way to add other than 'like' a comment to that. I was just merely noticing that Americans also eat a lot less of those things outside of mushrooms. * And I also realized later that we probably don't eat as much fermented foods as we used to since we have refrigeration that we tend to eat more fresher foods. But human stomachs are very acidic. Something similar to a scavenger.
Thank you for another great and interesting video! I love watching, eating and growing mushrooms and thanks to your videos I know event more about them 💚 I would like to ask you if you could make a video about health aspects of the chicken of the woods mushroom? I found one some time ago and cloned it and try to grow it indoors. It looks promising on grain, but not so much in a liquid nor a petri dish. Anyways it's beautiful and super tasty, I wonder how health it is in comparison to oyster or other mushrooms :)
Very interesting stuff. Wish I had Tony's gift for self promotion. He is a gifted speaker and sales rep. I can't hardly give my extracts away. Never used their products but totally believe in the efficasy of mushrooms and extracts made from them. Used to just sell chaga and reishi to get some extra money and fund my hikes. Then became a user. Now they are a solid part of my life. And my pets.
So looking at this I was looking it up while watching this. Interestingly, it says it's in large part in our bodies in our skin and eyes, particularly the eye lens. As well as a semen. It makes me wonder if it plays a huge role in our eyesight and as well as in skin protection/ Anti-Aging. As well as male fertility.
i have read books about mushrooms and never knew they respired like us. does this open possibilities for companion planting in protected , sealed environments. so is ergothioneine related to ergot which is base of lsd
In belize, succotz, my grandparents and parents collected mosrooms from two plants after burning for planting corn beans and pumpkins. They were earlike small about halve inch earlike brown gray. Once prepaired it was considered better than meat.
For mosquitos...attract with a patch of mushrooms...then place a high power fan with a on off timer and a screen on one side...When the fan comes on they will get stuck in the fine mesh...
Good idea. I saw a video demonstrating this. When I'm reishi foraging I'll leave my bag and occasionally a do a perimeter search and when I come back there'll be a swarm of mosqitos around my bag. Horse flies also ( it's black) . I'll kill most of the bugs then move the bag down the line to the next flush , repeat. When I have 40 or 50 pounds I move them to the four wheeler for extraction. I think I'll set up something like this at my mushroom cleaning station at home.
I took lion's mane powder (fairly pricey) and I took it according to the instructions for about a month, and it broke me out in an itchy rash, mostly in my scalp but also on the middle of my chest. So I quit taking it and it took another month for the rash to go away.
Could be an allergy to the mushroom, but also could be an allergy to something in the processing procedures? Have you tried dual extracts, that may be a better alternative. After the rash though idk if I would make another attempt
Nearly 50 years ago, I experienced a miscarriage around 8 weeks into a pregnancy. I continued bleeding afteward for days so the doctor gave me ergot to ''tighten up'' my uterus. It worked like a charm and I went on to have two more healthy babies. I learned that it was made from ergot that was the organism that caused the illness called ergotism that was caused by consuming moldy grain,. Is this the same or related substance that becomes poisonous in larger amounts?
do you have any information about a mushroom called black witches jelly. Its a bit like the jelly ears found on the dead branches, is black, soft, gelatinous, looks horrible tbh, but i found a small piece of info that suggested it was very medicinal and high in antioxidants, but cant find anything more about it
Don't know if anyone has spotted this, but Finland might be an outlier because of the high Sauna usage which has been studied extensively and shown to decrease all cause mortality by 30 to 40% I believe.
Yooper here (resident of the Upper Peninsula, if you're unfamiliar with the term). We have a high Finnish population here and a huge part of the homes here have saunas. Their evidence of working is currently walking around up here.
6:13 you've got the name of the Ergorthioneine wrong in graphics. You can correct this via some overlay text on youtube I think, no need to redo the video.
OK, I realize this is probably an irrational fear, but after watching the last of us and understanding what Cortyceps can do to ants, I’m hesitant to just introduce it to my body. Can somebody explain to me why I’m wrong
Thank you for admitting plants need co2... many modern "scientists" refuse to admit that plants and forests are growing better now and we might finally get back to normal and healthy pre-ice-age levels. Also it's not linear. We'll be heating up less and less the further we go above 400ppm. Thankyou mushrooms!
Every time I drive my car I think about the CO2 I bring back to nature. According to NASA the planet has become greener because of highrr levels of it.
Tree's growing rapidly is not necessarily good, strong Forrests thrive off slow, equal growth, when they grow quick it's because it's trying to bounce back real fast and lots of trees fall and die from growing too quick as they don't fatten up and have their root system balance them out takes 500 years for the Forrest to grow enough old growth for it to recover fully
I thought just occurred to me about this. It's been. This has really been setting rent in my head for days. So I wanted to come back What I was thinking of male reproduction since it's so high and semen levels, It could mean stronger swimmers then I was also thinking now what if that could help reduce miscarriages? What if it plays a critical role in fetal development. I mean the research on this is just beginning. Very exciting. But yes, fetal development it could impact it significantly from this reproductive angle since we already know that it's in the male sperm of significance, what if it could reduce chromosomal damages? Which is one of the causes of miscarriages as well as chromosomal disorders. What if it impacts fetal brain development? And if it can impact fetal brain development, there's a high potential that it could affect early childhood? I wonder if this is also in breast milk * apparently it is breast milk, both animal and human. It's also in the placenta, at least seen and other animals so most likely it is in humans as well. It's only in some infant formula but not an all infant formula.
I will feed it to the animals that will break it down so I can absorb it as I eat them. Always gonna be a lotta hype on discoveries. Carnivore isn't going out of style, for a reason.
@@jakemelinko honey, that is harsh. I am not just very clever and I would want him to tell me what I should do. How can this be a problem? When you go to a doctor do you “do your thinking” or do you let the doctor do the thinking? With respect I think you are the problem, giving your opinion on areas in which you are not fully informed. Love to you. ❤️
Morning Mel. I pretty much base my diet on what the dog ( and the crows) eat first. I am irritatingly healthy. Or in most of my friends opinion "bit of a nutter". Regards England
I don't eat mushrooms, and I made it to 77 as of the 23rd of July. I ate lots of candy most of my life. Still eat more than my share of pies and pastries. I did stop drinking cokes and other sodas.
I imagine that you've taken quite the number of mushrooms recreationally and that they've taken over your psyche to turn you into their human ambassador and now you act on their behalf as an agent 😂😂😂
50 mins video is a turn off. Too verbose. Content better suited for written form. 5 mins should be sufficient to provide critical information and the rest made available in written form.
