One of the things I personally add to the chair analogy is that you don't run up to the chair and jump onto it. The step-by-step process, getting closer to 100%, is an important element of understanding the KSL cycle.

Absolutely. You’ll find your transfer morph more and more to be mental as the entire shot cycle becomes second nature for you.

Fascinating, i often go back to these older vids, as I'm learning archery. And i save them to re watch. Sometimes i doubt I'll ever get to where i want to be, and it's a horrible feeling of just wanting to give up. But idk i just get abit overwhelmed Sometimes because archery is so complex, but i enjoy it. I wish i started early on in life, at 52 I've got certain issues mentally and physically that i need to battle threw. But you're videos have always taught me so much..I do a thing on this channel showing archery from a bigginer to hopefully a competitive archer, unfortunately UK weather is not forgiving, like today its raining and i need to put up a vid on my stance change, and a small review of the SAMICK SAGE because i love my bow.

This is by far the best explanation of the transfer I have seen yet. Thank you so much for your hard work. I‘ll make sure to share your channel. Excited of your future content.

Thank you for this clear explanation about transfer.Transfer is probably the most important step of the shot and maybe the most dificult to understand and perform well.

Wow thats analogy is impressive. Its showing detail feel from setup to the and of shoot. I through shoot is simply like when you drive a car, and do cornering called expanding, and release. Thanks jake

@@JakeKaminskiArchery Tried it with hundreds of arrow one thing I have observe is I got less fatigue in my back tension, seems my shot got more torque/speed as if the bow wants to leave my hands immediately after release and i have to adjust my sight from 7 to 6.5 cm. Still feel a little uneasy though might take sometimes to get used to it. My arrow grouping pretty much the same. The plus side is I do feel I can shoot more arrow than before, I don't have to worry about fatigue and focus on my mental state. Thanks for the wisdom.

Hey Jake, thank you so much for all the info and great explanations. I've already been through your setup and tuning series and it's been great. By far the best I've managed to find on line. My only request would be for you to use some sort of mic when recording. I struggle to hear you clearly sometimes. Still loving the videos

I've been dealing with target/clicker panic (manifesting pretty much as snap shooting), so regaining that calm and control at full draw has been a work in progress for over a year now. Getting a better understanding of the KSL shot cycle, and particularly this step, is really helping. I'm not there yet, but I'm on the path and getting closer now. Thanks heaps for sharing your understanding of the cycle. Hopefully once I also master your (upcoming) expansion video, I'll finally control the clicker, rather than the other way around.... I'm also really enjoying both your and Nusensei's perspectives on the same topics - it's different to live and breathe this stuff, rather than start bedding it down properly in your technique for the first time. Both viewpoints are valuable.

Its a fine book. But the stance described is not used by many archers. I have only seen B. Ellison use that stance described. Ok. thats a nice reference.

Thanks Jake, your explanations are very very usefull, plenty of details, didatic and practical examples. Let me ask you three things: First, what is the exact moment I must turn my torso: when I raise the bow arm or after that (that is: the movement of turning my torso is together with the movement of raising the arms)? Second, When raising the arms, using the open stance as you taught, I keep the bow to my right side (I'm left-handed)? Third, please, remember to do a video explaining the aiming technics. Excuse me for too many questions.

I know you didn't get into it yet but you touched on it at the end about the bicep muscle having some tension. Years ago I had some coaching from Alexander Kirillov, whom you may know of, and when at full draw he would come up and check to see if you had tension on the bicep and he was looking for no tension in that muscle, so I'm curious to hear what you have to say about it. Now this was using compound bows at the time.

I like the video, I was a little confused when you said start aiming at the end of transfer, but then you said after transfer. Coach Lee is currently coaching aiming only happens during expansion. The gear shifting analogy was awesome. Made me laugh.

At the end/after same/same as far as I'm concerned... No way would I ever start expansion without my sight being where I wanted it.

I'm new to this channel and so far find it very informative! I'm new to archery and have I guess what you would call a traditional recurve bow. More robin hood style I guess. Do you have any videos focusing on that style of bow?

All of the form stuff is definitely transferable, the most major change is that without a sight you'll generally want to anchor higher on the face so that the arrow is closer to the eye because that becomes your sight pin.

Hi Jake, thanks for the great work you do for archery. I see in your outdoor videos that right before the release your string-hand starts to shake a bit. Is that shaking moment part of the transfer or is it somehow related to it? Thanks in advance for your answer.
@fotoservid
@fotoservid 4 года назад
First of all, your videos help my daughter's form a lot. Thank You, Can you do another video on transfer because I can't quite grasp the 'movement' part of it. Should the anchor point move during transfer? Should I squeeze my back?

I don't know if you take requests, but one video I'd really like to see relates to stance in field archery. Stance is absolutely crucial in target archery as you've explained in your previous video, but in field archery there really doesn't seem to be a commonly accepted scientific approach. Even at the top level you see stances all over the place, from a very tight stance to minimize the differences in elevation between the feet, to ultra wide trying to compensate with the core independent of the lower body. Would love to hear your take on it!

The fact that aiming begins "after" clears up a lot of stuff for me, thank you Jake. However, I have an untimely question .. ..recently,I have been going through my arrows, looking at point weights, arrow lenght and how arrows land on target (18m). Question: Arrows that land on target, in line and perpindicular to it.. .. ..are these arrows preferable to those that land with their vanes to the right or left. ....and can they be used as a bench mark in future arrow selection?
@JakeKaminskiArchery
@JakeKaminskiArchery 4 года назад
If arrows land crooked when fletched I see two things happening. Either the bale itself is making the arrows kick after they impact (very common) Or you tune is so far off that they haven't stabilized by the time they hit 18m

Another great video, Jake. I'm doing Draw/Hold exercises for strength and stamina. How do you reconcile the "continuous movement of Transfer" and the "non-hold" of Hold with a 30 second draw & hold? Or is it just not the same for the exercise?
