The UN unanimously voting the guy in the scary metal mask literally named "Dr. Doom" as "master of all seven continents" might be the greatest thing, maybe ever.

Goron gives me that sorta D&D vibe when the DM is a little inexperienced and he's come up with this NPC he's totally stoked about introducing to his players, but he forgot to actually explain all the interesting details that only exist in his head.

Ironically enough, I’m sold on Goron. He has an interesting backstory if he can intimidate Doom and a nice array of powers you can update for this day and age.

Goron was the most important Spider-Man character of all times. During the Clone Saga, the one thing the angered fans the most and made them constantly tear out their hair was the lack of an answer to the question everyone was asking: "Hey, Where's Goron?"

I've gotta say "The Doctor Prescribes Doom" is a masterpiece of an episode title.

Spidey reflecting Goron's eye beams back at him to defeat him could have been done in a million more sensible ways. He could reflect the mind control beam back at him and tell him to stop working for doom, or reflect the exploding beam and destroy the floor under him to trap him. Instead we got Goron's TRUE FORM, which is the same guy except dehydrated i guess.

I hope Goron has a long and fruitful life on this channel. He deserves nothing less!

I actually would like to see Phelous do more videos on the older Spider-Man cartoons. The '67 and '81 Spider-Man cartoons probably have more bizarre plots than the others.

I’ll give Marvel some credit, syndicators pushed for Spider-Man to fight a Darth Vader style enemy because Star Wars was hot, and the writers immediately went with Dr. Doom instead of a lame OC.

Some how because you cover Goron is starts to become a cult classic character and the fans weave an elaborate backstory and create new stories of him. I have to admit that would be really cool for it to happen.

I watch the extended edition of Spider-Man no way home the other day. I was so happy when they added in the scene where all three Spider-Man, green goblin, electro, Dr octopus, the lizard, sandman, Tom Hardy venom, Dr Michael morbius, all the other villains, and Doctor Strange teamed up to fight Goron and all died. Truly the greatest scene in Spider-Man history.

"Spider-Man and no one" sounds like a show where Peter Parker has constant hallucinations.

It's entirely possible that someone would mistake “Spiderman 5000” as referring to a time period considering that there *was* a series of far-future Marvel books that included Spiderman 2099.

Goron is the most remembered and beloved character since Groppler Zorn

Something HAD to have gone wrong right. Surely there must have been some Goron introduction episode in the pipeline that got scrapped and they just forgot to scrap this episode. I can't think of any other explanation as to how Goron has graced us with his presence.

This episode really makes me question how many "Doctor" villains are just making that title up in an attempt to command respect. Based on this episode, even Dr. Robotnik runs circles around Doom in terms of thinking plans through. (At least some of the time...)

Hilariously, there is a Zora in the comics connected with Dr. Doom (Zora Vukovic, a loyal follower of his who also goes by the name 'Victorious'), so clearly the MCU Dr. Doom should work with both Goron and Zora.

While spiders are not insects, and mushrooms are not plants, it's also impossible not to die with what spiderman pulls there with his "freeze everything except me"-gambit, so you get a nice trifecta of stupid.

Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends is one of my favorite things about Disney +. It's GREAT to see Phelous going over some of these episodes, especially with them so fresh in my mind!! He always has unique and entertaining perspectives to add,

This guy is just ridiculously memorable for all the wrong reasons! The permanebt pokerface, the belly, the fat neck, the bald head and the stupid eye powers create an animated equivalent of a bum arriving at a cosplay party while everyone being convinced that he plays some character they don't know.

The title "ABCs of Doom" just makes me think of a Marvel-themed version of the movie ABCs of Death. Y'know, 26 segments where people get killed in some distinctly Marvellian way: "A is for Adamantium," "B is for Brood," "C is for Cyttorak," "S is for Symbiote," "T is for Terrigen"... stuff like that.

This reminds me for all the world of a Far Side wherein a scientist escapes a sinking cruise liner only to end up on a small island where a duck proclaims the doctor to be his old nemesis - only this time, the advantage belongs to the duck! Even Larson admitted he had no idea what kind of sordid history the two really had together. This seems to take 'Remember The New Guy' to levels beyond MUI SSJ4.

After this, Goron would become the most popular Spider-man character. He became so important that he was retconned into Spider-man's origin and history. Every major even was later detailed on how Goron was a part of it, if not the mastermind. This episode pulled in so many numbers that they would later say the raisin version was in fact a clone that Goron himself made. Goron Halloween costumes were hard to get the first year of this episode, but next year it was Goron central. Sam Raimi wanted Goron in the first movie, but he deemed that no actor could do the role justice. The only character who ever challenged Goron for popularity was Groppler Zorn, which is why the 10 part cross over comic Zorn vs Goron was made. People still argue the outcome of the comics, but are also just happy they get to see their two favorite characters in the same book.

I know some of spider-man’s villains and I knew Dr. Doom from the fantastic four, but Goron is the one character I never knew he existed nor was never mentioned in any spider-man comics, animated series and movies. And I can honestly see why.

I like that Doom has a Potemkin village. Given the timing of the show that's likely a direct reference to the USSR.

There are many moments in a humans life, like being born, first pet, first love, hell even first christmas, but no one forgets their first Goron... Truly a magic time for all the boys and girls.

Considering that Dr. Doom is a magician as well as a scientist slash ruling monarchy of Latveria, I'd imagine Goron was a mage as well. Goron studied eye magic as oppose to Victor Von Doom who was a general study. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I didn't get the idea that Goron had ever been a good guy, but he just had some sort of rivalry going on with Dr. Doom

Goron looks like Telly Savalas and Ernest Borgnine got fused in a teleporter accident that also gave him eye powers. In fact that's my new headcanon for his origin.

There was a terrible episode of the original He-Man show where the villains were two regular looking people who walked into Snake Mountain and immediately defeated Skeletor, and this Goron character from the Spider-Man with No Friends Show is giving me major flashbacks to that incident.

To be fair, the villains weren't very smart in the animated series at the time. Magneto was defeated by a wooden gun and Red Skull wanted to take over the world with WWII weaponry.

Phelous, I know you're hiding the Goron Marvel Comic Series and the Goron trader cards. You did this. You.

Ok, I know Poison Ivy is DC, Bushroot is Disney and Goron is Marvel, but imagine if all three teamed up? I think I'd pay to see that.

I heard Goron's in the extended cut of No Way Home and his scenes were removed because he was too popular and distracted from the story.

Dr Doom using Doom as a password in kind of genius in a reverse psychology kind of way. Like, no one's gonna try it, because they all assume he's not that stupid, which is why it's a perfect password, actually.

Spider-man 2099 is the cool future Spidey we need, but Spider-man 5000 is the doofy one we deserve.

Goron seems to be a more criminal leaning Ancient one, just a older sorcerer that probably took less energy to keep himself younger than the mcu counterpart. He probably taught doom magic and thought he was getting out of hand due to using magic to see his mother again (which was a major comic plot point). But Goron was somewhat selfish himself and wanted to reserve some global power for himself. So he teams up with doom, both get foiled by Spider-Man and Goron gets returned to his older form and gets sent to the Raft (or whatever the marvel universe had for a super villain prison in the 80s). The only main issue is well...... Yeah what did happen to him afterwards?? Did doctor strange transport Goron to a sorcerer prison? Did he just remain a unusually old man in a super max prison for forever??

The Dr. Doom & U.N. relationship is even on these days active, in Avengers assemble theres one episode when Dr. Doom goes to the U.N.

I think they should give Goron more of Backstory that way we could learn more about why he wants to get back at doom, I'm sure people would love that.

Is it weird that I kinda wanna see Dr. Manta, Infinata and Goron all make a return in modern day Marvel?

I thought the twist was gonna be that either Goron toke over Doom´s plan to take over the world so Doom and Spider-man had to team up to stop him. Or Doom´s plan dose´t work and Goron winks and says. "Haha I know I could fool you if I said I was your allay."
