Just started WoW again after a 6 year hiatus and boy is everything so confusing with all the different tiers, reputation, seasons, etc., so I will just ignore all the FOMO stuff like mounts and enjoy questing with my main and alts in Zandalar and Shadowlands. I just got my first level 233 item and couldn't be happier. Only goal before Dragonflight is to level all my alts to 60. So take it easy. Found your channel because I needed a lot to understand what is going on in Shadowlands, and you helped alot. Thanks!
7:30 The one thing you forgot to mention is that in Dragonflight you'll get another bag slot specifically for a crafting materials bag which will help a lot.
@@landsraad9745 that and quite a few other things they need to add.... #1 is the combined crafting materials bag #2 s combined gold and ALL currencies #3 would be a better naming system, they already denote different servers with a suffix, why not allow people to use the same first names and use a last name to differentiate, maybe have the same last name for all of your alts, which would help out great with guild alt identification and prevent ninjas from stealing guild loot, leaving and then coming back on another alt etc.
Looking forward to Dragonflight, I'm only going to log into wrath classic to get the new mount for retail. Played full Wrath back in the day, and I don't think that classic will quite recapture how it felt back then. Loads of great memories, but I'll be leaving the memories alone personally.
Awesome guide, thanks and don't forget the most important thing. You can have all the mounts and all the gold in the game, but really what matters and counts is to have fun! Have fun and relax!
I went back to wrath. it was by far my favourite expansion so far and it's been great experiencing it again. though i am gonna see who is interested in getting the Slime Cat mount
You should definitely mention to people getting stuff done now that will be MUCH harder later. Things like the Blanchy mount, the Fallen Charger mount, and getting the Friend of a Friend buff for Ember Court. There's bound to be a whole list.
Not sure why Blanchy was mentioned to be much harder. Don't need a group for Blanchy to spawn. The only benefit to join a group in Custom group option are when realms are connected including world layering to avoid 1 to 2 hour spawn times. Watch a movie or a series while waiting for Blanchy to spawn.
@@chinaman1 My experience with doing Blanchy recently was that I never saw it spawn myself. I got every single day done by looking for Blanchy groups while I waited at the spawn point, and joining those. Longest I waited for a group was about 15 minutes. When the number of people spawn camping go down, the wait times will go up.
WoW: Get these mounts by prepatch or else they'll either have their drop rates nerfed or be gone forever! FFXIV: We actually buff mount drop rates on old content, your time is valuable. 😐
That's literally the thing that disgust me about WoW and could prevent me from fully coming back to it, after I'm done with WotLK I can really see myself unsubscribe after 18 years.... I play classic and only farm WB on retail, I didn't play during BFA and only leveled them because of AV Anniversary but they nerfed that for Shadowlands so I couldn't even play old content because even that was impossible and try the new one that wasn't appealing to me to begin with. No way I'm doing any of those SL stuff, none of the mounts look that great and that FoS is fucking too long. Then people wonder why the boosting community was so prevalent and successful? They better put a huge XP buff in the last patch of every expansion from now on, and make the older content trivial otherwise they'll lost tons of players after WotLK last phase. But knowing Blizzard, they'll still be hella surprised when that'll happen.
@@BeastMastery Bingo! Especially with pvp. Grind this pvp gear for weeks on end, just so you can be competitive and do what you came for - pvp. Why do battlegrounds and arena require gear specs? Just normalize it all across the classes. People pvp for the skill of it; not gearing.
06:50 of course it is! Like every zone-specific buff ever collected since back in Vanilla WoW! You NEVER know when you will head back to that zone, for farming mounts etc, and if you ever do, you will remember the item and regret it so hard if you just threw it away because of this tiny little slot in your bag! :)
As a consistent casual since TBC I think the new UI will be the biggest thing I'm interested in. I've never really used any UI enhancement addons so looking forward to having some cool UI features built in.
Professions sounds good. I still miss the elixir / transmutation with alchemy. AND getting extra items with creating them. Always thought that was a rewarding idea!
Yes, making crafting a mini game within the game with complexity or difficulty to mimic a real fantasy world where you have to work and discover your craft would be fun. I'd always hoped they would do that for stuff
Apparently, there will be specializations in Alchemy like that again, so me having 3 alchemists will yet again pay off. :D Including proc items from crafting for each specialization :D at least that's what i get from watching all the DF build videos as the Alpha/Beta/PTR have been rolling.
I wish they'd annouce these meta achievements a little earlier in the expansion. I'd have liked to get veilstrider but since we've only got a few months to do it I know ill burn out if i try to get it all done before dragonflight. Honestly I'd have been a lot more likely to do a lot of the side stuff the achievements required if i had a nice checklist like that from the start. Ideal solution imo is have it in from the start of the expansion but have "???" achievements at the bottom and expand the meta achievement with each patch until the final one then they could reveal every requirement and the reward.
Honestly, I prefer to miss on some things rather than subscribe and play Shadowlands again. This entire expansion was a miss for me. The moment I log in and see my char in Oribos I want to alt+F4 immediately. I guess I will just wait for the new expansion this time.
I've "taking a break" by just playing the Brewfest holiday stuff on my alts. I've also been in the DF beta, but as you said, I don't want to burn myself out on it before it even goes live.
As someone who like to disconnect from the core gameplay to go and grind professions for days, as well as doing side content and trivial stuff the possibility that my toons would still be viable past the mid xpac only with professions bring true joy to my heart. After zereth mortis i just went to sleeping mode seeing everybody getting crazier and crazier health bar and at some point you just stop trying.
Yeah - I quit the game several times because I'm not an elite player and I don't do mythic. I think they need to pay attention to players who do NOT do mythics!
As far as gearing alts and getting them ready are concerned? Easiest way to do it is to just mail them 8,000 anima from your main, go to ZM, buy the 226 greens from the vendor there. Boom. You are now geared enough to step into Dragonflight if the initial quest rewards are going to be 180-ish.
i agree with this, it's so painfully easy to farm Anima, in fact i need to get back to farming as soon as i get gametime, so i can buy that 226 gear for my fresh 60s.
Listened for 6mins. Guess I’ll continue making alts. So complete Heroic & Mythic content. Awesome! If I couldn’t be arsed to do that in past 2 years why would I bother now?!?
If you complete all the fated raids on mythic before Dragonflight launches you can get a portal to all the raids you’ve completed at the highest level and will never need to visit again once Dragonflight launches 🎉🎉🎉
@@ProjectPlugTTV I read their comment as. Once Dragonflight releases you will have no reason to come back to Shadowlands to do old raids so why rush to get portals for them.
Yeah the whole reward system is kinda weird. Arguably the best thing - mount - given for a simple normal run, a title for some reason in the middle and teleport for people who are the least likely to use it. I get the mount being fairly easy to get for casual players, but then why even make it time limited, just make it into a mythic reward and let people solo farm it in like 2-3 years. The only way the teleport could be reasonable is if they plan on having the fated thing a regular occurance with even the SL raids making a comeback similiar to the m+ system.
@@rosamontikatharsis4827 Which is a fair take. Though there are people like me, who keep a variety of methods to teleport to different regions. I wish I could get the Fated Mythic one, but there's no way I'm doing that. (I still use my Garrison as my main city. for bank/ah/etc. I keep my dalaran port ring. My black temple port necklace. Etc)
Thanks for all the reminders. I'm working in Beta right now just trying to get a feel for the new talent system. That's how I'm prepping for the new xpac.
I would be hitting that red-button already and that Thumb every clip, but the part after the final scéne, has, just, made me do it! Can I have a toon from you in a guild, no-mater if it's my guild ^-^
Good list! I am a massive...MASSIVE hoarder...yes I need all my uncut gems and old world skins because....I just do okay?! ....I'll try my best to sort my bags/banks I swear. Also with the release date now announced (Nov 28) I feel the push to level my alts, but as you say it will probably be easier/better to wait for prepatch, presumably at the end of this month.
I just came back to the game after 16 months of being away I missed out on the 2 and 3 seasons.. But in less than 2 weeks I am at ilvl 289 and over 1600 rating only touching tyrannical afix so far so tomorrow (reset) I should have keystone Master done. Before I started the keystone grind I did the Fated raids for Jigglesworth sr. Mount its a good way to gear up on the way. I like the new UI but make sure to save your import in a notepad for it sometimes it can completely reset. I will try to work on heroic Sepulchre for the jailer mount. Anyways I'm looking forward to DragonFlight!
So I just hit 60 for the first time in Shadowlands a few days ago and have just joined a covenant. Should I spend too much time on this or will it be relevant in DF? Will I need Anima in the next expansion? Or should I focus on other things?
never ceases to amaze me how much FOMO Blizzard can pack into one small window of opportunity. "better subscribe and pay before its all going away" should be their new slogan.
And the things aren't even worth it. Legion was the last expansion with good quality stuff that were worth grinding for, BFA had a few cool low drop mounts that still can be obtained through solo content beside. BFA was good in the sense that when it ended there wasn't much that was going away. SL is similar but beside portals that are characters specific there isn't much, and THANKS GOD for that!
Came back to wow last week, managed to get my shaman to 261 ilvl, but getting declined on every fated normal raid i apply to in LFG and every mythic+, everyone is listing for a minimum 270 ilvl, feeling pretty stuck atm lol
Last time i played was Season 2 Shadowlands, now i got a new chapter. Should i complete this chapter "Secrets of the First Ones" or i can just wait new expasion and focus on my alts ? Last question: Should i focus on my covenants now for the next expasion?
I don't really like having the veilstrider title being removed with DF, it's not like any of the system's of shadowlands are going away or being removed. I understand that the champion of azeroth being removed as it required having all legendary essences wich required elite in those bfa pvp seasons or a mythic kill from azshara. Or the title and tmog from defeating mythic trial of valor without dying. Those are fine as they'd be trivial on later expansions, but it's not the case with this one...
I like the last part of your vid. That’s why I took some break from S4. I come back from to time to play prologue for DH cause I never played that class. And yea, I got XGP so a lot of stuff to check there too 😅
"Completely different professions, like being a weapon-specialized blacksmith or an armor-specialized blacksmith." Yeah, exactly like it was in Vanilla, where you could choose to be a Weaponsmith or Armorsmith. Not new at all, just brought back.
My only goals before DF are to get a few alts to 60 and for my mage to hit Exalted with The Enlightened. I'm getting close, but I haven't been logging in every day.
Titles and mounts always go at the end of the Xpac. I’ve been gone for almost 3 years and I don’t mind waiting 6 months to see if the xpac is worth getting in too.
Got hooked on classic so retail is not even on my mmo radar. The crafting change might be interesting to look at once it goes live. First have to deal with arthas then dragons
I really don't understand how blizz thinks it's a good idea to launch these two things so close to one another. But... that might also be why they're removing a lot of the grind and time gating in dragonflight. As they probably see the higher numbers of classic and figure they'll make retail have a lower barrier to entry. And then stagger content updates for the two. And try to monopolize people's time. Into playing one or the other based on content cadence. If that isn't their plan or intention... then they're being real dumb splitting their player base like this. Lol
Agreed, torghast was a good idea but needs more variety / change of scenery. Imagine if there were multiple different solo dungeons that were procedurally generated 😍
Looking forward to the profession changes more than anything else. They have been so lackluster since WoD, excited for them to actually matter and have depth to hem again.
I agree. Blizzard has taken the fun (and profit) out of the professions. Thread for 9g each, takes 25 of them to craft a bag...bag sells for less than mats...sigh.
Its hate full that most things we can earn is with mithics and raids. I am happy i can play again after 2 years with my head trauma but doing a dungeon is somethig i cant do (yet). So i hope they will change it and we can later on solo farm the mounts
"You might even be able to make gear on par with mythic raid gear" yeah bullshit, I will believe it when I see it. Raids giving BoE raid level recipes like back in BC, the good times for professions.
I see you have a Hearthstone toy on your actionbar but still have an actual Hearthstone in your bags, so for one extra bag slot you could delete that one since you only need to use the toys.
Thank you for a lot of good info about the new expansion ahead, and what we should consentrate on.There was several things here that I did not know.So this was useful info.Wish you a happy gaming time ahead.
Well, sadly I can't afford for Dragonflight nor Gametime, so I cannot do anything. :) Good luck for others tho, very excited for this expansion, gonna watch on streams at least.
That's a fair take, usually people would just go "Remove this I don't like It". But you're asking for It to be an option earns you huge respect atleast for me, I appreciate people like you.
What’s the best way to get good at WOW. It seems so complicated to me. I’m a bit overwhelmed. I love the game but it’s so hard to understand everything.
Haven't played since like January 2021, but will be back for Dragonflight. Just ordered a new computer to replace the old one (where pretty much everything but the graphics card and SSDs are from 2011). Actually looking forward to returning to WoW... again. ^_^
oh shoot...been off a couple months...I just marathon leveled a dk to 40 over a couple days here haha. I'll maybe wait to continue her then in XP is getting squished. Will leave my other ones then too. Am excited to see what the new talent system is like is why I want to create a whole bunch, then can decide who I like best in DF
I think they should change so we can play the main story of the campains... they made it so you choice wich one to start on, but once you reach max lvl.. it dont give you the option to continue the story and finish it, but instead just takes away the main quest and then you cant keep going.. i brought myself into wow since legion and have not finished that one. or the previous ones.. cause the main quest is not shown.
In my opinion, the MOST IMPORTANT thing to do before Dragonflight, is install some combination of FFXIV, ESO, DDO, SWtOR, LotRO, or GW2, and play something else. I have simply lost faith in Blizzard slowly over the years and I just can't anymore for WoW. I know this will not be a popular opinion to read, especially on one of Kelani's excellent videos, and if you are still in love with the World of Warcraft, then please continue. I just find that there are so many other options these days, and they bring so much more variation and replayability, without the looming feeling of Activision. To each their own. GL in Dragonflight!
I WANT THAT MOUNT! I know that dragon riding skin for dragon is for Gladiator but i didnt realised its 2.1k, and not 2.4. I am gonna beat the living shit out of pvp in dragonflight. I just hope that Solo shuffle will count towards Gladiator rewards
PSA: Relevant content is over at 6:28. The remaining 14 minutes is just fluff for pushing more ads. Clearing your inventory, bank and quest log, alt management, etc. Hardly “The MOST IMPORTANT Things To Do Before Dragonflight”.
