@@schnelma605 Otto Skorzeny is way too surface level. My channel deals with really obscure stuff. If you want a really obscure story of a SS officer joining the Israeli army, then you should look forward to my video on Ulrich Schnaft. No one has ever spoken about him on RU-vid and you can't even find most parts of his story on the internet. Hopefully I'll get it out soon
8:30 Fun fact: In the two verses used for the Dutch national anthem (the full song has 15), Germany and Spain are both mentioned once, while the Netherlands themselves are mentioned exactly zero times.
@@Ww1whiz1914 I'm the guy who made the meme. I made a full video about it on my channel. Feel free to check it out if you're interested in the full story
6:42 apparently South Korea went ballistic when America called for aid to South Vietnam. It contributed the second most number of soldiers to the coalition force only after the Americans, and we are talking about the 60s when a lot of RoK military officers were Korean War veterans. The expeditionary force from news clips from back then makes me look like cheems in comparison. South Korea was the OG Psycho Wojak before Poland Article 5 meme existed. Hence the picture of the coalition force is completely up to proportion.
Christopher Columbus and his brothers were partying in the Caribbean, While absolute chaos was happening in Europe. Italian war, Sweden &Russia war, two Cornish rebellions, and Ottoman and Venetian war all back to back from one of another
GB did not participate in the construction of the Suez canal, they even wanted to block it. The only nation, besides France, that invested in it was Austria, also the austrian emperor was the only royalty present at its opening then.
6:06 Finally, they've recognized the efforts of the amazing spanish space agency: Euskadi Ta Askatasuna Sad that it got dissolved in 2018, they could've find that ninth planet that we struggle to find
@@L.internet8 That image is from a movie (I think it was a movie or a series i'm not sure) but the car managed to fly high enought to land into a rooftop
6:26 I hope that with eyewitnesses they are not referring to people like Fray Bartolomé de las Casas who was a liar. It is true that with his stories he helped protect the natives although he had to exaggerate many things that he never saw, especially because he earned money from it. For example, he said that there were one billion native people in America, that there were rivers in locations where there were none, etc. These exaggerations served the English, Dutch, French, etc. very well, as we can see today in the narrative.
To be fair, even though Japan attacked us in part because we cut off their oil, we should also address the answer to the question of *why* did we cut off their oil
nah it wasn't Otto who hated France the most, that title goes to Prince Eugene who swore he will return to France only to burn it and he make sure that's what he did
I mean... The US also never admited or apologized for war crimes, though we do know they did them xD We even make jokes about it... So of course both sides get mad the other don't see their side x)
This may seem shocking to some Americans out there, but Lend Lease wasn't actually necessary for the USSR's victory over the Germans. In fact most of the lend lease was being handed out to the USSR AFTER they had already started pushing back the Germans, while it is true that lend lease helped a LOT it still wasn't "vital" for their victory, it did prevent a lot of death and logistical issues for the Russians but they still would've won without it. Long story short the USSR did most of the work which led to the Allied victory and more credit should be given to them! (Not saying that other Allied nations like France, UK, Poland, USA, Norway, ect. etc. weren't necessary for the victory against the Axis, just saying that the USSR did most of the work)
Likewise the Germans for some time covertly help the Chinese resist Japanese aggression. And both the Germans and the Japanese condemned Mussolini for invading East Africa
You know what's truly scary, it's when I learn or read.about something online or in school, and then drew sudden!y coughs up that exact same thing (this time it was kingdom of aksum, last time it was a reference to Guatemala when it was ruled by efrain Rios montt...)
7:13 Strange how even though Kissinger kept trying to change the topic back to serious international issues, when China started the one child policy China ended up exporting girls to the US and other countries since most parents wanted their one child to be a boy.
Don't forget about a operation that can't kill alot of people that could have happend if the us didn't use the nuclear weapon or the nuclear bomb doesn't affect japan at all because their is a very possibility that the emperor hirohito is going to be overthrow or just got killed by his soldier that is command by a general or a powerfull guy try kill the emperor and take control and continue fighting Some use general:"Welp Operation Downfall have been lunch go get them boy" 1:38
1:41 "completely unprovoked? ... we did cut off *their* oil." THEIR oil? THEIR OIL? It was the oil they wanted and needed to wage war in China. That oil didn't have Japan's name on it!
"Japan is rarely represented as the bad guy in mass media." Ahem, Tintin and the Blue Lotus? The 'China could do no wrong' comic representing Japan as the reason for the opium crisis?
