In this video I explore the extremely rugged backcountry of one of my favorite national parks of the West, one that I think is the most underrated of the five national parks in Utah. Oh, and I didn't see a soul the entire day.

Did you know I have a second channel? It's all about a simple version of fly fishing called tenkara. Here's this week's video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t_x7urt5uYQ.html

Hi, I'm from the UK, love your channel and subscribed. We have only been to Utah once, we drove out to Monument Valley from Grand Canyon village. The only other car we saw was a cop, he asked us what we were doing out there, he said " there ain't nothing out here" we said that's what we liked about it. ❤

This is so rad! I went down the RU-vid rabbit hole watching overlanding videos. This video started and I'm like, "isn't that the tenkara addict?" Love your fishing videos and they were a big inspiration to my getting started with tenkara fishing. Keep the content coming!!

At 66 and a 2x can c.f.fer survivor I know I'll never climb another mountain like that. Thanks for taking us along. Let's me reminisce about climbing the CO 14'ers in winter. Crazy Kids. You never felt cold till you have stood at 14k in a Feb 80 mph wind. Froze water solid in 30 min in our packs. Now I sit by the warm fore and watch! THANKS from an old fart!

I tried for this summit last September starting from its northwest side near the road junction. Had fun scrambling and route-finding to make it up to a flat area west of the peak and then around to its south side. Got to its base and saw NOTHING that looked less than super scary without a rope! I decided to call it a day and went back the same way, which was still challenging to find the correct way down. Beautiful, lonely and interesting route for a 59 year old (although I've been doing a lot of this since moving to AZ in 1983! )

Now we know what that view was. You get a gold star buddy from us oldies wintering it out in Yuma AZ. Utah is our favorite state and we go there every year for the last three years. As soon as spring hits we will go back. And thanks to you we will see things we didn't know about and have missed. I wish you didn't do GPS readings because we don't have one of those. And we travel I. A 29 foot class c and tow a small Geo Tracker 2wd not 4x4. I can fix two wheel drive and never owned a 4x4. Thanks again for all you do and share. Ron and Sue say hello my friend. Thank you for taking us to the summit with you - I really felt it with all the wind and the beautiful views! Based on the “tenuous” nature of the trail, did you have concerns about getting back? I tend to get lost, even on well-marked trails.

High places do bother me a little. So climbing I’m good but coming back down worries me more. Really cool video. I enjoyed it.

i did a 3 day backpack in Cap Reef in spring, it was kick ass - saw other people but not a lot - cool canyons, amazing overlooks, arches... its way under rated

Obviously, you made it but dang! I was so nervous for you. LOL And I know you had extra steps to film yourself hiking away only to return back to retrieve your camera and tripod. Thanks for taking us along with you. Did you get nervous at any point of this climb? I bet the hike had to have been so worth it to see the horizon from up there. Marvelous!!

No, I didn't get nervous. To me, it wasn't that difficult or dangerous. If it had been, I would have stopped using one of my hands to film 😁

The cabin in Capital Reef belonged to my Great Grandpa. My Grand Mother grew up over in Fruita. Love you videos.

Capitol Reef was my favorite NP because it was so unexpected on our tour. Such variety of terrain and you can't beat the pies!! Love watching your adventures!!

Lori Kochan. A big plus, not many visitors to crowd out your views. I only spent a day here, but could have stayed for a week.

Was in the area last September, but went to Bryce and Zion. Along the way to Bryce was a smaller park called Red Canyon (it's on the road and many people take pictures of the arch made for the road that goes through one of the fins. Anyway, Red Canyon was totally abandoned when I went there. I hiked the Great Wall trail by myself and I thought that was nuts. Until I saw you doing this. It looked pretty dicey, you being alone and everything. Keep it safe out there.

Red Canyon is a pretty little spot to take a break, for sure. Thanks Tony!

Just did Grandwash, Cassidy Arch, Frying Pan loop. Hitch hiked back to my car at grandwash. Hardly anybody out there. Also did Syncline Loop in Canyonlands and very few people for such nice weather and on a Saturday! Everybody at Arches
