This is part 2 of my 2 part series looking at each manufacturer's most overrated and underrated coasters! Check out part 1 here: • The Most Underrated & ...
@noct31 Same tbh except my redeeming moment in this was Mine Blower. God I love that coaster. I also agree about it being rough for a "newer" ride BUT to me it isn't something to complain about. More like just another wonderfully insane thing about it 😍
I also love Blue Hawk and Raging Bull. Complete agreement here. Explained those in my Underrated Coasters video. As for Full Throttle, I thought the brakes on the drop were an afterthought; I got so much airtime on the drop, that I didnt really notice the brakes. I give you a lot of credit for doing a video like this, opinions are pretty tricky ground on the internet.
Michigan's Adventure is very underrated. They have a legendary CCI, Shivering Timbers, and one of the rare "good" SLCs, Thunderhawk. The waterpark is the main attraction, and its good. Wolverine Wildcat is pretty good, and it's very popular.
I haven't ridden many coasters, but I think another underrated B&M is Batman The Ride. Probably one of the most intense and whippiest inverts out there. People underrate it bc it's a clone and it's at Six Flags
Batman is overrated since it's the worst coaster ever. It has so much headbanging. Literally nothing but headbanging. Maybe it's just me since I ride the original invert at my home park great America but that's me
They're perfectly fine coasters, and not only that, they have such a small footprint that a park could put it in the spot of a couple flat rides and be fine. Are they going to be the standout attraction? Obviously not, but they're better than something like a boomerang.
And don't forget that it is - like many other coasters at Europa Park - a prototype, built at a time when Mack was still pretty rough. They have improved their manufacturing A LOT since then.
Yes! Blue Hawk is a great ride. I’m still hoping they bring us a Raptor, though. Even though you said they were overrated, it’d be nice to get one at SF:OG, since we haven’t gotten a new coaster since Twisted got overhauled. It’s great to see a coaster I personally love at my homepark, get some love.
When I rode kumba I thought it was a great coaster but I thought the head banging was a little bit much, I think that montu is better because of the lack of head banging that montu usually has. Even with the head banging montu is still a pretty good ride and lives up to most the hype.
I've been on Kumba a half dozen times this year and every time I've come off with a headache. It's not as bad closer to the front, but even at its best it was still rougher than every coaster in the park. It's the only one I skip nowadays.
That moment when Airtime Thrills declares your boy Ravine Flyer 2 an overrated coaster! 😭😣😲 I also feel like based on your footage that Copperhead Strike was running slow when you rode it.
I’d say Storm Chaser is the most underrated RMC. With it being in the once nearly entirely abandoned Six Flags Park, most people don’t give Kentucky Kingdom the light of day. Storm Chaser and Lightning Run are what has kept the park alive and saved it from shutting down, but with only 2 good coasters people still don’t seem to care for Kentucky Kingdom and think lowly of the park and it’s rides. Storm Chaser is not a ride to laugh at and I’d say the only RMC sibling that’s better is Steel Vengeance
It is a shit park but the most underrated B&M is Goliath at La Ronde. It literally never gets mentioned, positive or negative, and it is a ton of fun. It doesn't compare to the full size, elite B&M hypers, but it is definitely underrated to a ridiculous degree. It is a really fun ride.
Jordan Carr Goliath would get much more love if it were at any other park. But we don’t have to blame Six Flags for how La Ronde is. (Insert Oscar nominates song from 1999 movie that Jeopardy contestants didn’t know)
I just love this channel so much I just came here to say that so thanks for coming to my TED talk bye also I’m riding Mine Blower next week I’m so excited ahh
BEAUJAN Peester It’s my #4 park, personally. I had better experiences at Holiday World, SFMM, and even SFOG than I did CP. Don’t get me wrong. I had an amazing time, but I went in 2016 before Steel Vengeance opened, and I didn’t ride Top Thrill Dragster, so once I get on those 2, it can most likely fall higher on my favorite parks list
I know! Not counting Dragon Challenge it was my first B and M invert. I like it because it’s smooth and not uncomfortably long. Also you can ride in the front row if you want a less intense ride or the back if you want your feet to be tingling the whole time. The Batman clone at Great Adventure is a little too intense for me. And it has that B and M rattle. And yet I love I305. Yah my body and brain are weird.
Sierra Sidewinder has no business being in Camp Snoopy. Definitely better than your typical family coaster. Also Most Overrated RMC for me is Steel Vengeance by far.
I understand why you thought Rip Ride Rockit was good. I’ve been to Cedar Point, have passes for Busch Gardens Tampa, and Have passes to Universal Orlando, and even after visiting Cedar Point and riding rides like Steel Vengeance and top Thrill Dragster, I still thought that Rip Ride Rockit delivered a nice experience. It’s most likely because of the music, as the music blaring into your ears while going 60 mph is a memorable experience. Overall Rip Ride Rockit doesn’t go very fast, or have very crazy Gs, but it is very memorable when you factor in the music, as the music makes it 10x more fun to ride.
Ever since I learned that vekoma stole arrows track design back in the day..It has always left a bad taste in my mouth not to mention I pulled a muscle in my neck riding invertigo at my home park KI..
@@DoswarePictures Arrow was in talks with vekoma to see if they could be arrows broker and manufacturer for the European market.. So the way they wanted to set it up is vekoma would build the track and arrow would supply the trains, and arrow even sent two of their engineer's to Holland for 6 months just to show vekoma their manufacturing process and they showed vekoma how they created their unique track system.. Arrow hoped that this would save on steel shipping cost for European orders.. Then vekoma began building their own trains and then designing a variant of arrows track design for themselves.. and then later that year vekoma released there boomerang shuttle loop coaster.
How is Ravine Flyer overrated? Literally no one has been talking about since like 2010 and it never has a line. Ever. Sorry. Waldameer is technically my home park as I live about 30 minutes from there so I get a little touchy about it since, in my opinion the entire park and everything in it is grossly underrated.
S&S Freespins often cause my head to slam backwards into the headrest. Not my favorite at all. It has be worried that I'm gonna hate X2 when I finally get out there. And I can't say I feel bad missing out in Green Lantern. Lol.
I ALMOST completely agree with your list. I admit I have bias, because I’ve ridden Ravine Flyer 2 more than any other coaster, but I think it’s UNDERrated. But it’s all good; your opinion doesn’t affect anyone’s well being. Edit: What do you mean by Lightning Rod getting neutered?
Personally, there's something to lightning rod that's different from every other roller coaster. Call me stupid but it's my favorite roller coaster over el toro, steel vengeance, and fury 325
I put it behind SV but as a close second. It really is an unbelievable coaster and it doesn't feel like other RMCs. It's also probably got the best pacing on the planet.
Hollywood Rip Rocket also has a secret track list. Hold your finger on the ride logo on the touch screen, and it will bring up a keypad where you enter a 3 digit code. One of the secret songs is Painkiller by Judas Priest.
What is with all these coaster youtubers and them all praising S&S freespins all of a sudden? Is S&S paying you guys off? I don't care that they are cloned rides, they are just painful and not fun.
My ride on Mineblower is perhaps the most painful roller coaster ride I've ever gotten, but damn that layout is so good it kind of makes up for it. If it wasn't so rough, and had a different restraint system (sorry, those lap bars which rotate over you from the side suck if you're skinny like me, since they push you to the side of your seat), it would probably be my favorite wooden roller coaster. And yes, that's ahead of the RMC woodies Lightning Rod and Goliath.
I know most enthusiasts think Rip Ride Rocket is pretty poor, but the general populace enjoys it, as a result, I was expecting it to be placed in the overrated section not underrated. Definitely interesting. I'm not a fan of it in the slightest. Good video though. Thanks for the upload!
LMFAO 😂 DUDE...you need to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit one more time, now that you are an actual coaster enthusiast and not a member of the GP. I guarantee, you will hate it. I only have 60 credits to my name, but there are fewer than 5 coasters I've actually disliked. There are only 2 I hate: Pandemonium and this one. And Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is THE worst - that's right - THE WORST coaster I have ever ridden. Why's that, you ask? Easy. It is uncomfortable AF and a nut-crusher. Not to mention the 4 brake runs. Not to mention the annoying lockers on-site. Fuck this ride. Fuck it HARDT. Awful. Simply awful.
Love your videos but can you please do some more on the UK and Europe. Every ‘list’ seems to be USA every time. There’s parks like Portaventura, Europa Park, Energilandia, Alton Towers, all with amazing rides.
@@AirtimeThrills Agreed. There was no airtime on the top of the launch 2019 and honestly there was little to be experienced on the rest of the ride until maybe the last 2-3 moments.
Maybe it’s because SFGAm is my home park but I don’t get the hate people have for Raging Bull. I like the twister layout, the pre-drop helps and it’s got some good airtime.
SFNE is my home park and every year we'd ride cyclone once or twice and talk about how it was an rough coaster that was ready for a replacement. We rode it on it's closing night. Riding it upon it's reopening, Wicked Cyclone easily makes my top 5 coasters. It went from a ride that even durring peak hours only had a ten or fifteen minute wait to consistently having a half hour wait and it's so worth it.
No! Not Ravine Flyer! That ride is great. I didn't find it to be all that rough for a wooden coaster, and it's in my top 5 wooden coasters (since I haven't been on Phoenix or Voyage yet).
So glad to see the love for Hersheypark's Comet. It was my first "big coaster" (non-kiddie or family) & one moment I'll never forget is riding is on a chorus/band/orchestra trip my senior year of high school (which was my last hs field trip). I kept shooting it's praise to my friends and pretty much anyone would listen. The full day we were at the park, I made a beline to re-ride the ride that started it all. Got in the front with my brother and when I turned around, all but the last 3 rows were classmates. We got off the ride and EVERYONE said "You were right. That was so fun." A true classic that you're right, UNDER-RATED
1000% use to go back between 2001-2007 and Comet was always the main ride id marathon. Back then the coaster lineup wasnt as packed like today. My cousin swore by Lightning Racer and Wildcat, but id insist on going by Big Bear and wind up on Comet. By the last time we went she finally agreed with me, Comet is the best woodie there. Wildcat is/was rough amd Lightning Racer doesnt really do much. I really need to get back up there (live in Fl) and get the like 5 or 6 new credits they have there. I miss Hershey and the Comet😊
Soo I know this is an old video but... On the last you mentioned intamin and I was wondering...what's everyone's opinion on kingda ka? I'll be going to the park once this virus shit dies down and I plan on riding it
Honestly, the only thing I strongly disagree with is Blue Hawk being underrated. Imo it’s just boring and it hurt my neck so bad. The vests were super tight and uncomfortable, and I rank it as the worst ride in the park. Overall, I agree with like 99% of the things you said in this video, ESPECIALLY Kumba
You are so right about Sierra Sidewinder. It's actually the best coaster at Knott's Berry Farm. One of the great things about Sierra Sidewinder is that it's slightly different every time you ride. How much you spin depends on the weight distribution in your car. My last time on Sierra Sidewinder it was just spinning out of control.
I don’t mind him putting kumba overrated I loved it but doesn’t mean everyone will some people will think it’s great others will hate and people well say it’s just ok
If not too similar, you could make "The Most Underhated & Overhated Coasters From Each Manufacturer" I'm joking but it would be a cool video or part 1/2 videos lol
Patrick Cadiz why? I really don’t get the hate, they’re just themed wild mice. It’s not Disney level theming but it’s still better than having it unthemed
As a Georgia resident, having Blue Hawk be the underrated one is very true… it’s pretty smooth ngl and I love the setting. SFOG is truly great scenically
I’d personally call SV the most overrated RMC. It was still awesome, but I thought lrod, the only other RMC I’ve ridden, was a much better ride (and yes, in it’s current state; I never rode it in 2016 when the launch was full power) anyways, I respect all the picks on this list! Great video as always!
I've ridden Raging Bull more than any other coaster, and for a while it was the most exciting coaster I had ridden. Then I branched out and rode coasters at Cedar Point, Busch Gardens, etc., and I still think RB is one of the most exciting coasters out there. Thank you for shining some light on this awesome ride.
I really like how you give so much love to wicked at Lagoon but it would be awesome if you gave some credit to Dal Freeman who actually designed it he is the head engineer at Lagoon and used to work for Arrow. Also I really like your videos so thanks for making them!
For me nighthawk is the most underrated vekoma. Idk why everyone hates it!! It was very fun and I ride a b&m Flyer (manta) almost bimonthly!! It wasn’t even that rough when I rode it
I absolutely agree with you on the freespins. If they weren't cloned so much, I think people would definitely like them a lot more. I'm glad I have one only an hour away from me now at sfdk, and I make sure to ride it every time I'm there.
I live close by to magic mountain, and yeah it'd seem cool. Hell they can even call it "Green Lantern: Second Flight". Only problem is it'd be absolutely dwarfed by X2.
I think there’s 2 things Wicked Cyclone has that people don’t really talk about, the rapid fire elements leaving barley any transitions in between. Also the fact that you can get some hangtime on the 3rd inversion if the coaster slows down by then
